Aeropars Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 no it weren't - he snuck 5 feet was moved back 3/4 and then snuck another foot foward and hit the post on the way in so bearing in mind he gained 2/3 feet and the post isn't anywhere near 2 feet wide that would have gone wide had it been taken where it should have been Well I disagree. I was right in line, looking the length of the pitch and you could see the skid mark on the grass from where I was. The ball was in that mark when it was taken so I say it was a correct position. If you want to argue that then we may as well argue whether or not it was a free kick in the first place. Either are insignificant arguments in my opinion.
Matt Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 TBH it would be an amazing feeling if we go to win and get into the final on Wednesday now, we always do things the hard way, we succeed in completing things via the hard way alot of the time.
Aeropars Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 Honestly, watch it again tonight or whenever, the original foul took place near the throw in line, the player stumbled forward a bit but that doesn't take away the fact the foul was near the line. How the bastard ended up near the penalty box I'll never know, I feel pretty robbed tbh. Just have. Still looks about right to me. I guess its whether you look at where the contact was initially, or where the bloke hit the deck.
The Doctor Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 Well I disagree. I was right in line, looking the length of the pitch and you could see the skid mark on the grass from where I was. Ozwin Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 The movement has nothing to do with it really, the foul was a good 5 yards closer to the sideline.
UrbanFox Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 and now for a slightly more balanced view.... I watched the game on TV. a six week old baby and a serious lack of cash/playing football saturdays have stopped me going as much as i would have liked this season. Saying that I feel as though I should flash some credentials so here goes. A decade of season tickets in the supporters club, visiting such holes as Swindons/reading/stokes old ground as well as such wonderous places as Old trafford/shite heart lane and the stadium of shite. I never knew this site existed but now that its in my life i'm much the wiser for it... saying that i dont post often simply use it to giggle at the ultra-biased blue specs and to get a jump on any new transfers/rumours..... war and peace over so here goes.... - Alan Wiley was cr@p saying that..... - There were no DELIBERATE hand balls - Cardiff were the better footballing side, creating more chances, playing the bettr football - NP's tactics were suspect but maybe the best considering the players we had available. - Bothroyd should have had a second yellow card. - FINALLY>>>>> Its only HALF TIME and we can genuinly win in Wales!!! 100% agree! I also have a 6 week old baby who stopped me going today! he has not stoped crying since the final whistle he must sence the loss We have nothing to lose now on Wednesday as cardiff will be expected to finish the job! We can go out relax and attack if we lose 5-0 who cares remember where we were last season
Fox You Forest Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 Far too much 4-5-1 today and not enough 4-3-3, pretty disappointed but we've got another 90 minutes. Time for them to show what they're really made of.
Ozwin Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 I'm confident of our visit to Cardiff, their place is going to be nervy as **** like the Walkers was today, probably more so.
Webbo Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 The movement has nothing to do with it really, the foul was a good 5 yards closer to the sideline. That's what I thought. No good worrying about it now though.
Wycombe Fox Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 We let ourselves down with the goal. It was obvious he was going to shoot or why else would he try to move the ball inwards? It wasn't to get a better angle for the cross. One-man wall??? Not very intelligent Leicester. We can do this on Wednesday.
Ozwin Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 I know I'm harping on about it but if it was taken in the proper place then a one man wall would have sufficed.
ta-fc Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 100% agree! We can go out relax and attack if we lose 5-0 who cares remember where we were last season Without turning this into the tiny baby appreciation thread mine bawled throughout the second half, i'm not sure it was cause here mini-kit was too big for her or that she knew there goal was coming.... Saying that she'll be wearing it again on wednesay whilst Daddy screams at the telly again!
Cropwellfox Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 Feels like we missed an opportunity today. Their backline looked stretched when Kermogant and N'Guessan started putting themselves about at the end. Would love to believe that we'll go there and pull it around, but personally I can't see it. Not being unnecessarily pessimistic, just calling it as I see it - we've only scored 5 goals in the last 7 away games, and haven't won in the Championship by a 2 goal margin all season away from the Walkers. Am sure the away fans on Weds will do us proud and hope beyond hope that everyone who goes enjoys an absolutely unforgettable night... and if not, here's to the emergence of a team we can be truly proud of again.
Simi Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 I really do hate it when Premiership ref's come down to do the Championship. They're used to turning down 125 penalties a game because most of the Prem are cheating ****ers. Looked like two penalties from my view at least, not seen any replays though to be fair. Also seems like the Cardiff fan was spot on when he said Bothroyd hits the deck too easily, fook me, could have mistaken him for Drogba the amount of times he hit the deck and started moaning. As for the match, people saying Fryatt can be forgiven because of lack of match practice? Bollocks. If he's not ready to put away a simple one on one then why the fook are we wasting time bringing him on? Waghorn didn't have a great game but was tireless with his effort. Kermo came on and cost us a goal with an abolsutely stupid foul to commit, why drag him down there? Stupidity. I thought Wellens and Spearing were absolute class, warriors the both of them. Wellenes played some great balls that were always looking to get inbehind Cardiff. N'Guessan needs to start Wednesday, almost everytime I've seen him play he has caused problems, get him in on Wednesday and he will cause problems. I could also be tempted with Howard, whatever we do we have nothing to lose and I hope we go out trying.
Karljohn Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 Driving back down the M69 and witnessed at least 7 police riot vans racing the opposite way towards Leicester presumably as reinforcements. Looks as if it will be a busy night in town. Result is a little deflating but confident we can go there and turn this around, at the moment all that's going through my mind is extra time and penalties! :scarf:
flanimal Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 Overall, Cardiff are a load of cheats. Every they played Leicester this season they have done something dirty. Either handballs, moving free kicks, or dragging down players when they are in on goal. Dirty, dirty Cardiff.
Fosse Fox Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 Whether or not Whittingham took the free kick from the exact spot where the foul occurred is immaterial. The point is he repositioned the ball TWICE in defiance of the referee's instuctions. Wiley should have cautioned him...
Edmund Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 Cardiff were definitely the better side today, there's no doubt about that and deserved their win. They looked sharper on the attack, their passing was much more effective and their defence was solid. Their midfield closed down every ball for the majority of the game and their defence made things look effortless at times. Ironically this is the sort of game which was crying out for a Steve Howard cameo. Waghorn ran his socks off but the most he really contributed were a few decent corners. It wasn't his fault as he was outnumbered, outmuscled and outheighted (new word ) when we insisted on lumping the ball forward at every opportunity. It didn't help with our fans groaning at every miss placed pass. Cardiffs support was spot on and without raising eyebrows outsung us throughout. I thought Gallagher and Dyer were ineffectual for most parts of the game and were closed down well by Cardiff. Special mention to our defence who were heroic today. Bruce and Hobbs battled throughout and made many key tackles. Solano made some lovely passes and looked very comfortable throughout. If only we had brought Danny on earlier, he was doing what Dyer should've been doing ; running at their fullbacks. Overall we didn't play too badly and looked pretty solid as a unit but we lacked options and invention especially in the final third. On a positive note, I think we shouldn't be to disheartened as it could've easily been 2 or 3 and we were outdone by a superb freekick. We're still very much in this at 1-0 and have nothing to lose going to Cardiff. :city:

Nice one chasing the £££££
Aeropars Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 I'm surprised noone has said this but here goes: I think Leicester created the better chances. Apart form the goal and one other where Weale tipped it over and it was given as a goal kick, i cant remember another decent attempt on target.
Tommeh Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 Team selection was spot on for me, exactly what I'd wanted it's worked so often this season yet today, meh. Still did NOT deserve to lose however. Dyer wasn't with it on any level, Bruce was so often the wrong side, King and Gally pretty annonymous and the full backs not the threat they often are. Whilst Solano was solid, Morrison was missed. Alan Wiley then. I'm someone who hates blaming refs but he is one fvcking huge dildo, 2 blatent handballs, clear pentalies and yet nothing. Also a bit of a disgrace the way Whittingham placed the ball a good few yards closer tan the foul was, certainly helped the purchase.... still don't want to sound a petty cvnt, it was a good hit. Fryatts miss was terrible and Yann, I'm sorry but giving that foul away there was nothing short of foolish. Oh and Richie Wellens played a blinder for me absolutely tremendous showing. Going to Cardiff in hope now more than anything if I'm honest but I still cannot wait anything can happen and if we can get at them early involve Dany N'Guasan and Howard then I don't see why we can't turn it round. Oh and Richie Wellens played a blinder for me absolutely tremendous showing.
Salieri Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 I'm surprised noone has said this but here goes: I think Leicester created the better chances. Apart form the goal and one other where Weale tipped it over and it was given as a goal kick, i cant remember another decent attempt on target. What about when they hit the post? There's no way you can argue we created the better chances, we only really came to life in the final 10 minutes.
Narborough_fox Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 Mate said to me that if we cheated and dived like a lot of the other teams in the Championship we'd be right up there with west Brom and Newcastle. Totally agree with him, anyone else?
Tubes Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 I thought our support was absolutely shameful today! 99% of the football league would have been louder than us today!
Simi Posted 9 May 2010 Posted 9 May 2010 Anyone that has C-man on Facebook, look at the difference between where the foul was and where the free-kick was taken. Pretty brutal.
