WhoDey Posted 11 May 2010 Posted 11 May 2010 IF we win tomorrow, we've got Blackpool in the final. Surely this is an extra incentive if ever it was needed. I don't know about anyone else, and I'm not trying to be disrespectful to Blackpool here, but surely if we can turn it around against Cardiff tomorrow we would be able to outwit Ian "Tactical Genius" Holloway with a Blackpool side lacking the suddenly-lethal DJ. The way I saw it, the team with the best chance of beating us in these playoffs was always Forest. I'm not saying the POTENTIAL game with Blackpool will be easy, but surely if we can win tomorrow we will be more than half way back to the Premiership. If you see this as a "jinx" thread and you're superstitious, by all means delete it - but the main point of the thread is... Come on City, we're nearly there!
Ozwin Posted 11 May 2010 Posted 11 May 2010 Amen, we have the possibility of playing a team we've beaten twice this season at WEMBLEY. No better incentive than that.
Head Honcho Posted 11 May 2010 Posted 11 May 2010 Amen, we have the possibility of playing a team we've beaten twice this season at WEMBLEY. No better incentive than that. I bet the Forest fans are having a right go at their manager for allowing Blackpool an easy passgae to the play offs
WardyisPukka Posted 11 May 2010 Posted 11 May 2010 had a funny feeling this wud happen!! still think they wont do it!!
jonthefox Posted 11 May 2010 Posted 11 May 2010 I bet the Forest fans are having a right go at their manager for allowing Blackpool an easy passgae to the play offs reading other boards ,the forest fans were asking each other where they were sitting at wembley ..
Brainy Posted 11 May 2010 Posted 11 May 2010 I hope Blackpool don't go up. Nothing to do with Holloway like most, but if we're to be in this league again next year then it will help our push for promotion next season if Cardiff aren't here. There really aren't many strong teams next year with Newcastle and WBA going up and Pompey, Hull and Burnley coming down.

Bugg Posted 11 May 2010 Posted 11 May 2010 The real danger is coming from the league below. Agreed. Norwich, Leeds and whoever else comes up (Huddersfield I reckon) will be no mugs in the Championship tbh.
ramboacdc Posted 11 May 2010 Posted 11 May 2010 ill be honest that now forest are out and have proven the mighty can fall (even if it is from a leicester reject) i believe we can do it tomorrow. IF we dont make it, i will probably support blackpool since i do not have a high opinion on cardiff. COME ON LEICESTER!

Leicester_Mad Posted 11 May 2010 Posted 11 May 2010 Cardiff will be thinking the same surely. The best team in the playoffs are Cardiff IMO. I said before the weekend the winner of our tie would go up...i still think its true
msc_lcfc Posted 12 May 2010 Posted 12 May 2010 Whatever the Result is tomorrow, it was a Fantastic season and for us to be this high from 2 years ago is Amazing. Nigel will definitely have the guys ready to play tomorrow and hopefully we can come out and get an early goal to set the pace. Come On Leicester!

AndyBrew Posted 12 May 2010 Posted 12 May 2010 After watching the game last night I thought Blackpool were absolutely brilliant played Forest off the park for large portions of the game had them running around like headless chickens which paid dividends in the latter stages of the game when Forest got tired opened large areas of space and whallop!!! Having seen all four teams personally I think Blackpool are the team to beat With all the best will in the world I simply can't see Leicester having enough in them to do what Blackpool did to Forest I hope this statement comes back to bite me
danielpholt Posted 12 May 2010 Posted 12 May 2010 Mate of mine had a dream way back in february that his blackpool side would be defeated at wembley by...guess who? Leicester City. Now I know we've got a fair amount to do, but his dream is looking more and more liked it might actually happen!!!.
bluebeau Posted 12 May 2010 Posted 12 May 2010 We've got to take a lot of extra confidence from the Blackpool win over Fo--st. 1) Fo--st were the bookies favourites to gain promotion. 2) Fo--st hadn't lost at home since September. Extra incentive to beat Cardiff........if we manage to beat Cardiff, DJ can't play against City, so their strike force is seriously depleted. Come on the lads, play the game of your lives & get us to Wembley! I hope NP starts with Fryatt & Howard up front But.........whatever the outcome, well done NP, his staff & the City squad, you've made us proud to be City supporters. MM get the cheque book out & allow Nigel to strengthen the squad with permanent players. Waghorn, Bruce etc

Fryatt severly lacks confidence and that showed on sunday, Howards hasn't played since watford. I think howard could potentially start but he wont last the whole game. I think dyer could be used as a sub for him to hopefully inject a bit of pace around the 70th min mark. we need howard to hold the ball up Whatever happens i'm incredibly nervous!!
WhoDey Posted 12 May 2010 Author Posted 12 May 2010 Anyone that thinks Blackpool will be easy is err wrong. Yes they are. But personally, rather them than Forest.
dpjfox Posted 12 May 2010 Posted 12 May 2010 living in Blackpool as i do is a nightmare at the moment, fecking tangerine/white balloons everywhere smug faces etc (i suppose i ask for stick after taking the piss when they appointed hollowhead and tipping them for relagation). Nobody wants us to win tonight more than me!
Bluefoxtim Posted 12 May 2010 Posted 12 May 2010 We've got to take the game to Cardiff night. Get on the front foot early on.
purpleronnie Posted 12 May 2010 Posted 12 May 2010 I've said it many many times and I'll say it again Holloway is an excellent manager, beat forest yet again, and in the play off finals, amazing. But I'll stick with my prediction at the start of the playoffs, cardiff to be in the Prem next season.

Ashley Posted 12 May 2010 Posted 12 May 2010 Blackpool expect to recieve over 37000 tickets for Wembley!
