Wycombe Fox Posted 1 June 2010 Posted 1 June 2010 Seems like Baines and Bent aren't going. Two down, five to go.
Podge Posted 1 June 2010 Posted 1 June 2010 The 7 I would leave are; Dawson Warnock Huddlestone Parker Walcott SWP Bent
Bakey Posted 1 June 2010 Posted 1 June 2010 SSN, Walcott and Bent omitted from the squad. EDIT: Joe Cole included,
dandannieldanok Posted 1 June 2010 Posted 1 June 2010 Carrick has done nothing to warrant a place in the squad, he's always been poor for England and he's had a mediocre season for Man Utd.
Tilley Posted 1 June 2010 Posted 1 June 2010 If this is true, we're terribly short of attacking options. With Bent and Walcott out, this leaves us with the four strikers, a SWP who hasn't barely played all season and Lennon has been injured for most of it. Hope Cole and Johnson make it...
Bakey Posted 1 June 2010 Posted 1 June 2010 Walcott and Johnson both left out?! SSN say Walcott has but not mentioned Johnson. EDIT, they just have, Johnson left out according to sources, and Carrick in according to sources
Wycombe Fox Posted 1 June 2010 Posted 1 June 2010 Carrick has done nothing to warrant a place in the squad, he's always been poor for England and he's had a mediocre season for Man Utd. I agree. Never rated the bloke, either at club or international level.
Tilley Posted 1 June 2010 Posted 1 June 2010 Capello always said he would pick on form and how much game time they get, on that basis how is Heskey in and Bent isn't? How is Carrick in? How is SWP in and Johnson isn't? Carrick being in is my main gripe, he's been crap all year!
Wycombe Fox Posted 1 June 2010 Posted 1 June 2010 This 'leakage' stuff is annoying. FFS FA, just make an official announcement. Heskey going to SA apparently.
Joe. Posted 1 June 2010 Posted 1 June 2010 Good decision Fabio, glad my posts about Walcott convinced you in the end. Now get Cole and Johnson on that plane and you're onto a winner. EDIT: CUNT.
Wycombe Fox Posted 1 June 2010 Posted 1 June 2010 It's looking like Baines, Bent, Johnson, Walcott, Dawson, Parker and Huddlestone will be the seven dropped from the 30-man squad.
Tilley Posted 1 June 2010 Posted 1 June 2010 Upson and Carragher over Dawson? SWP over Johnson? Still wonder how the fook Carrick has made it, would rather have took Parker or Huddlestone than that prat.
Wycombe Fox Posted 1 June 2010 Posted 1 June 2010 According to The Sun, SWP is on the plane to South Africa. He doesn't hang about - you'd have thought he might have waited for the rest of the squad.
Wycombe Fox Posted 1 June 2010 Posted 1 June 2010 Blimey! Unconfirmed that Dawson in, Ledley King out!
maddog Posted 1 June 2010 Posted 1 June 2010 Walcott can change a game in an instant so surprised he's not going just for his pace when the opposition are getting tired. Dawson has been awesome so should have gone, he's played better than Terry and Ferdinand this season, who also has been injured but he's captain. EDIT: Dawson in
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 1 June 2010 Posted 1 June 2010 Pleased that Walcott isnt going, for me he just lives off that hat-trick against Croatia. Obviously very quick, but out of him, Lennon and SWP he has the worst 'footballing brain' and lacks a real end product. Glad Bent isnt going either, never really rated him either. I know he has scored a lot for Sunderland but he really could have scored so much more and I think he lacks international quality.
Tilley Posted 1 June 2010 Posted 1 June 2010 From OliverKayTimes on Twitter: "Now there's a rumour (UNCONFIRMED for now) of Ledley King OUT and Michael Dawson IN." If that is true then I give up.
Samilktray Posted 1 June 2010 Posted 1 June 2010 Well Capello lied about picking on form by the sounds of things. And I still cant stand the fact Carraghers in there.
Bakey Posted 1 June 2010 Posted 1 June 2010 Would love to see Dawson go, his form this season is worthy of a trip to SA.
Joe. Posted 1 June 2010 Posted 1 June 2010 Well this is all a bit odd from Capello. Wright-Phillips over Johnson after no game time, likewise with Warnock over Baines. Dawson over King when the latter has arguably been the best English defender this season. Carrick in at all after being left out of United's team for much of the latter part of the season. I know most of these won't/wouldn't have played much anyway but it's still not quite right to me.
Koke Posted 1 June 2010 Posted 1 June 2010 Bent does not fit into the structure of how Capello sets his team up. He doesn't only pick on form, but he also picks on how well said player will fit into the team. Otherwise if we were going on purely on form then Heskey wouldn't be anywhere near the squad. So it isn't all about that. Glad Walcott is out. Shame that Johnson is out.
Dames Posted 1 June 2010 Posted 1 June 2010 SWP is only going to stop Ian Wright going on a rampage and telling every paper and TV program going that Capello has no clue and SWP deserves to go. Carragher doesn't deserve to go, where was he during Qualifying on those long trips out to eastern Europe? He's done fook all all season and practically got a free ticket ahead of some people that deserve it more than him because of his 'versatility' The rest of the squad i guess is agreeable to an extent.
