poopbutt Posted 10 June 2010 Posted 10 June 2010 jordan is going to be crying into his weak american beer come satdy night
Jordan Posted 10 June 2010 Posted 10 June 2010 Meh. I'll save those tears for use in the unlikely case that the USA fook it up against Algeria and Slovenia.
Uncle Albert Posted 10 June 2010 Posted 10 June 2010 Hopefully it's not a pretty performance and we win 2-0, I really don't want us to breeze the group I would like one of the teams to give us a good game and USA are more likely out of the shit to do that. Gerrard and Lampard to get the goals.
BoneDog Posted 10 June 2010 Posted 10 June 2010 Is that a real t-shirt? I'm going for a 2-2 or England to sneak it 2-1. The USA worry me, they seem to have steadily improved over recent years and I'm not overly confident in our team at the moment. Fingers crossed though for a solid performance. I'm getting very excited now, it's so close it feels like Crimbo when you're a kid.
hairy Posted 10 June 2010 Posted 10 June 2010 Wanks? Wheres that come from? Been called worse. Not confident of the result. Ever the pessimist.
Wycombe Fox Posted 10 June 2010 Posted 10 June 2010 Thick b*stards! Fancy having to have 'front' and 'back' printed on the T-shirts. I am joking by the way!
Bert Posted 10 June 2010 Posted 10 June 2010 England 1-1 USA. The whole country goes into meltdown because we didn't win our opening game. So true if it happens. The press will love it and then the pressure will be on even more. I think we'll win, but we need to go and set a marker and show everyone that we mean business. This is the only way teams will fear us, and for me that's half the battle won. They're going to try and absorb the pressure and break with Donovan. Dempsey and Altidore, the only thing that worries me there is our two centre backs don't have bundles of pace, I can see Cole and Johnson having to bail them out a few times. A nice 2-0 win to start with, settle the nerves and that. Rooney and Lennon to bag.
Ozwin Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 The yanks are making a right meal out of this, it's like their biggest game in 30 years or so you'd think the way they're banging on about it.
Guest DavidJCW Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 I'm getting really excited about all this now! I'm going for 2-0 to England. The USA aren't as quite as good as some past results might suggest and I think we'll see them off.
Jordan Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 The yanks are making a right meal out of this, it's like their biggest game in 30 years or so you'd think the way they're banging on about it. As someone who derives immense pride from his national soccer team, I'm thrilled to see England-U.S. get top billing here, especially with lots of other things going on in the American sporting landscape. I've never seen our national team get be the subject of this much discussion and exposure. That said, though, a substantial portion of our media that's not used to covering these sorts of events is really making a mess of this. I've even heard this game referred to on multiple occasions as the "biggest game in U.S. soccer history," which is simply not true. Sure, it's a big game. A win would definitely mean so, so much more for our team that it would yours. It's a marquee match-up on a Saturday afternoon that's going to draw lots of attention here. Plus, while large segments of our media and populace don't care all that much about soccer, we still like winners here, still love underdog feel-good stories and are itching for our boys to get themselves a big scalp (particularly after the disappointment of 2006). But a lot of folks--particularly a few that get on TV or write in various media--ought to get their heads screwed on a little tighter and realize that this game isn't a do-or-die affair (especially when considering that the other two group stage matches look much more like wins on paper than the first one). We've had other great wins and disappointing losses in the past that were all considered the "biggest game in U.S. soccer history" themselves.
C-man Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 god the yanks are shit at banter hahaha I'm just pleased they've told me which is the front and which is the back. Wouldn't have worked it out otherwise...
AmericanScott Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 that shirt is great. My flight leaves just before kick off so sadly i get to miss this game.
Jon the Hat Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 We will certainly wank all over the Yanks tomorrow. No worries
lildave3 Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 I'm just looking forward to the US National anthem. Brilliant.
Guest Bilo Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 The match kicks off at 19:30. Bet the Yanks turn up at 19:41 and claim victory.
AmericanScott Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 Being half English and half American, i really can't choose between my two nationalities. I'm going for America in this one. It's the only time i'll want England to lose. If USA win, i get to be all smug about it. If USA lose, everyone will be smug towards me. My best result is a draw. Everyone will be happy.
Jordan Posted 12 June 2010 Posted 12 June 2010 Not long left now. May the [squad that is overmatched at every position besides goalkeeper yet finds it within themselves to be the] best team [in Rustenburg for a couple of hours, say, 8:30-10:30 pm local time] win.
Leicfox Posted 12 June 2010 Posted 12 June 2010 England 3-0 USA. I've got a good feeling about this. England will want to come out and show the world what were made of after the last couple of poor showings in the friendlies.
