Nope some know a lot about football some dont.

Who'd of thought.

But since when have Man Utd, Barcelona, and Milan been country's surely even people who havn't got a scooby about football know they aren't country's and the WORLD Cup is a competition between country's?!

Not making a big debate over it just finding the [certain] American's [celebrity's] ignorance funny.

It was Zac Efron though, chances are he knows very little about anything.

You could probably ask certain people in any country, some wont have the foggiest some will know a lot.

1-1 draw, or possibly 2-1 England. Would take a point.

Considering the 'World' competitions in sports they generally give a fvck about just have American and maybe Canadian cities competing in them, it must be proper confusing for them. Poor bastards.

I think we'll do this one 1-0.

I can't see the USA posing any spectacular threats to us but they're definitely not a side to underestimate. I fear we'll struggle to break them down as usual, but eventually come away with what we need. Win this one and the group's in the bag.

Just hope the players don't see it that way, Take their foot of the gas in the 2nd game draw/lose that one then have to win the final game.

Cos' you know it'll happen, I predicted it ages ago.

Can't believe the fuss Sky are making over Rooneys yellow card, interviewing the Yanks and asking for their opinion on the matter. Allow it for ****s sake. It's just a yellow.

5Live have done the same thing - I had to turn the radio off because I was fed up listening to it. They even interviewed the ref!!

I couldn't stand it, Someone didn't get injured as they were hoping which meant they had nothing to speak about so they come out with "Oh, well his temperament needs to calm down", shut the fook up Sky. :sweating:

IO think they do that because its the way he gets booked, stupid mardy stuff and thats a worry for us. We all know whats happend to us before it only needs a player to do something stupid and its all over.

Your newspaper interviewed Jackie fvcking Chan in an article meant to embarrass Americans for being stupid and ignorant? That's rich.

But rapper Snoop Dogg, 38, was more knowledgable. He said: "I believe Brazil are going to win."

lol

England 2 USA 0. Rooney and Joe Cole with the goals

Uninspiring dull 2-0 win [like versus Mexico, Japan and Egypt].

Joe Cole and Wayne Rooney.

Reckon that's about spot on lads, personally. Would love to see an upset and as much as the Yanks are about the most likely to do it, I think you'll walk the group.

This is the best you've been in a decade or more and even at your worst you'd have gotten out of this one.

Under Capello, England have improved but then that isn't very difficult given McClarens reign. But the Croatia away win galvanised the squad and gave them confidence and belief and we started to show patches of real quality.

Slowly, but surely that confidence and quality has dispersed and we are in danger of being the same old England. A massive performance is needed early on in the tournament, probably the first game as USA are the biggest of the 3 teams we have in the group and wins against Algeria or Slovenia, although will be welcomed, they also are expected.

If we get a steller performance like that and we kick on like we did after the Croatia win, then we have a great chance. However, in World Cups you do see time and time again that teams can start slowly, look unconvincing and go on and win it. Likewise, teams like Holland often look mustard in the early rounds and then get duffed up later on.

Either way, for the fans perspective a decent performance is what we need. I have faith in Capello more than any other England manager in my time as a football fan.

Totally agree, particularly the highlighted bit.

However I feel that a 'stellar' performance in the opening game will be difficult, for all the obvious reasons, so how about this for a possible scenario...

Endland play poorly and are beaten by the USA. This has the advantage of wiping out any complacency at a stroke and just might convince Capello that playing Gerrard and Lampard together is, as we all know, a joke.

A re-organised and more purposeful England win their next two games in some style and finish second in our group so advance to the round of 16.

Where of course they meet......... Germany! This of course will spice things up nicely, so in a tough and hard fought game England manage to sneak a narrow but ultimately comfortable victory.

This sets up a quarter final with.... yes, you guessed it Argentina! Does it get any better than this? Again a narrow victory (in off Rooney's arm) and we are in the semi final.

Here we will meet, in all probability either Italy or the Netherlands who will beat us, but guess what? It wont matter, we will all still be blind drunk from the two previous games that no-one will care.

Great Tournament, who cares who wins, so long as we beat the old enemy(s)?

I certainly can't see us losing it. Even though we've been poor performance-wise in recent weeks, we've maintained the results and the winning mentality, which plenty of other nations simply cannot boast. I'll go with a solid 1-0 win, Rooney scoring.

Can't see it being a classic, 2-0 win for England. Hopefully Emile with a brace.

:crylaugh: ....and then what, pigs to start flying over the stadium?

If Emile scores on Saturday it would make my week.
