FoxyPV Posted 19 June 2010 Posted 19 June 2010 Hopefully not - England and France to go out in the group stages would make my WC.
Joe. Posted 19 June 2010 Posted 19 June 2010 Yes we will. We'll beat these fuckers and limp through to the next round. Awkward and uninspiring 1-0 win I think. Which would sadly do me fine...
purpleronnie Posted 19 June 2010 Posted 19 June 2010 Somethings got to change dramically, we have to beat the best team in our group. After last night I dont know how that will happen. But I'm trying to be hopefull.
Unit Posted 19 June 2010 Posted 19 June 2010 Same opening scorelines as in Italia 90', we then won 1-0 and limped through. statto.
davieG Posted 19 June 2010 Posted 19 June 2010 We'll remain unbeaten with 3 draws and depart with our tails between our legs and faces the colour of our shirts. Fans = sickly white. Players = embarrassingly red.
breadandcheese Posted 19 June 2010 Posted 19 June 2010 Same opening scorelines as in Italia 90', we then won 1-0 and limped through. statto. The difference is we had Bobby Robson as coach, who changed the things that weren't working changing to a 3-5-2, allowing Waddle, Gazza and Platt to play.
Tilley Posted 19 June 2010 Posted 19 June 2010 We're on the BBC this time and we should wear the red shirt.
Corky Posted 19 June 2010 Posted 19 June 2010 I really can't see us winning, another draw probably. Very much hope I'm wrong and a victory is claimed, however crap, uninspiring or whatever.
Fox You Forest Posted 19 June 2010 Posted 19 June 2010 He should call Mike Bassett, he turned it round from a similar position.
Dames Posted 19 June 2010 Posted 19 June 2010 0-0. The highlight of the match will be England somehow managing to string 3 passes together in the right direction.
purpleronnie Posted 19 June 2010 Posted 19 June 2010 0-0. The highlight of the match will be England somehow managing to string 3 passes together in the right direction. Never happen.
Tilley Posted 19 June 2010 Posted 19 June 2010 1-0 win, through by the skin of our teeth, Joe Cole with the goal.
Corky Posted 19 June 2010 Posted 19 June 2010 He should call Mike Bassett, he turned it round from a similar position. From a worse position, 0-0 with Egypt and 4-0 defeat to Mexico. It can be done!
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 19 June 2010 Posted 19 June 2010 I really hope we change this 4-4-2 and drop Lampard, for me he has done nothing for England for a while now. Play a diamond with Barry at DM, J.Cole and Lennon on the wings and Gerrard just behind the two strikers. Then if things arent going well bring Lampard on.
coale39 Posted 19 June 2010 Posted 19 June 2010 Drop Heskey for Crouch, drop Rooney for Defoe, move Gerrard to Lampards position dropping Lampard, Joe Cole on the left with Dawson is defence. James Johnson Terry Dawson Cole Barry Lennon J Cole Gerrard Crouch Defoe
marbelladave Posted 19 June 2010 Posted 19 June 2010 Time for a change, a big change.... James Johnson - Dawson - Terry - A ColeLennon - Milner - Barry - J ColeCrouch - Defoe
Phube Posted 19 June 2010 Posted 19 June 2010 Time for a change, a big change.... James Johnson - Dawson - Terry - A ColeLennon - Milner - Barry - J ColeCrouch - Defoe Hence the Navy shorts!!
Legend_in_blue Posted 19 June 2010 Posted 19 June 2010 James Johnson - Terry - Dawson - A Cole Lennon - Lampard - Barry - J Cole Gerrard Mardy Face Rooney
Tilley Posted 19 June 2010 Posted 19 June 2010 James Johnson Dawson Terry A.ColeLennon Milner Barry J.ColeGerrardRooney That would be my first choice, however if Capello goes with this, he will play Lampard instead of Milner and probably SWP on the right and Lennon on the left or something strange to keep Joe Cole out the team. Also wouldn't surprise me to see Upson instead of Dawson.

davieG Posted 19 June 2010 Posted 19 June 2010 It's like picking a Leicester Team a couple of years ago no matter what combination you can dream up it still comes out as a totally unconvincing combination of shit and square pegs in round holes because the squad is unbalanced and not good enough/performing to start with and no amount of moving the pieces around produces a team you believe in..

Well said... However, we have the squad that we have, nearly half the players have huge experience in the final stages of the champions league so we should at least be able to put out a team that is competitive. Probably not world beaters but rather better than we have seen so far, is that really so difficult?
