MikeyT Posted 8 July 2010 Posted 8 July 2010 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11712_6252135,00.html Skysports.com understands Leicester are lining up a move for former Stoke midfielder Amdy Faye. Faye is available on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract at Stoke. The Senegal international saw last season blighted by injury, but he is now back to full fitness after undergoing surgery. Faye is keen to find himself a new club as he wants to be playing on a regular basis and Leicester could be ready to offer him that opportunity at the Walkers Stadium. New Leicester boss Paulo Sousa is keen to reshape his squad and he could make a move for experienced campaigner Faye. With former Portsmouth and Newcastle midfielder Faye being available on a free transfer he is an attractive proposition for Leicester as they look to mount a promotion bid next season.
MikeyT Posted 8 July 2010 Author Posted 8 July 2010 Not really keen on this one to be honest, he's 33 now and had alot of injuries last season.
Bettsj2 Posted 8 July 2010 Posted 8 July 2010 Really good player when fully fit but as has been said, that hasn't been that often recently. Would be a good signing for free.
Jimmy Posted 8 July 2010 Posted 8 July 2010 we do need midfielders so depending on his wages this could be worth the risk of his recent injury problems
mancunianfox Posted 8 July 2010 Posted 8 July 2010 From wikipedia though... Faye was arrested by City of London Police on 28 November 2007 along with Harry Redknapp, Milan Mandaric, Peter Storrie and Willie McKay over allegations of corruption. Can't see this transfer happening tbh.
Bugg Posted 8 July 2010 Posted 8 July 2010 Wrong Faye. Abdoulaye good, Amdy bad. Yeah, that's what my mates who support Stoke say. They love Abdoulaye but they think that Amdy is worse than terrible.
dandannieldanok Posted 8 July 2010 Posted 8 July 2010 Can't imagine Paulo Sousa as one of his first acts as manager knocking on Mandaric's door to try and get the likes of Amdy Faye. He might be useful for a season but I'd rather we didn't.
i luv u foxes Posted 8 July 2010 Posted 8 July 2010 cant see what he would bring to the team really i prefer oakley wellens and king over him anyday

Babylon Posted 8 July 2010 Posted 8 July 2010 So... We sign an unknown forgeinger who Pompey were interested in before. Plus an injury ravaged old war horse. Have we suddenly gone back in time two years to the time of Martin Allen!'
Shrenchel Posted 8 July 2010 Posted 8 July 2010 Can't imagine Paulo Sousa as one of his first acts as manager knocking on Mandaric's door to try and get the likes of Amdy Faye. He might be useful for a season but I'd rather we didn't. Can you imagine Mandaric as one of his first acts as a chairman with a new manager who's happy for him to meddle in transfers knocking on Paulo Sousa's door and telling him we're buying Amdy Faye? p.s. he's gash.
Joe. Posted 8 July 2010 Posted 8 July 2010 it's good to see that all those FT outings to see Amdy Faye regularly have paid off, now you can all make judgements on him with ease.

No, we've just all watched enough Premier League football, or know a Stoke, Pompey or Newcastle fan who has told us he's a pile of shite. He's been in this country long enough for us all to have seen him enough to know he's not that good.
Sods Posted 8 July 2010 Posted 8 July 2010 Amdy Faye is the man, wins header smashes players and gets red carded every now and again. Must buy.
