Sporting Gijon not alone in the race for Castro. According to the press Asturian, Leicester, Paulo Sousa, will be achieved shortly a proposal by the middle of FC Porto.

According to several publications in the region of Gijón, the club's second tier of English football is willing to put on the table a tempting offer to guarantee the employment of the player 22 years.

Last season, Castro has been ceded to Olhanense, pointing out six goals in 32 games. At the moment the average is just an internship with the squad portista in Marienfeld, Germany.

The Leicester has secured the loan with Benfica's Miguel Vitor central.

For anybody who isnt Portuguese ;)

Well, it's quite a switch of codes to go from Rugby Union to football and I'm not convinced that he'll be that quick but at least he's staying loyal to Leicester

i read recently on another board that sousa had hardly any decent contacts in the game.but with the signing of vitor and the possible capture of this chap (who i know little about tbh), im getting a little excited about next season.

Sporting: England complicates the option André Castro

07.12.2010 - 11 h 13

Despite having practically closed the template for the next season (see article), Sporting Gijon still do not rule out incorporating any more during this summer market. The desired alternative is the Molinón André Castro, which would reinforce the red and white cord.

Sn however, reports the New Spain, the signing of Porto player could be complicated by the arrival of a newcomer from England. This is the Leicester, who trains a mythical Luso midfielder, Paulo Sousa, and is very interested in your compatriots.

The same paper notes that the British are willing to put enough money to take the midfielder. The player is one of the promising young Portuguese football because at 22 years has shown a good performance during two seasons he played in Olhanense (32 games, six goals).

Thanks for that Liam

Looks like we may put a spanner in the works for Sporting

appreciated english players under pearson but like i keep hearing, international players are faster and better so im 50/50 on the start of the season. Sounds like a really good signing but not getting my hopes up as being a leicester fan for so long, there is always a let down at some point...

Never heard of him, but he appears to have a good pedigree. It's nice to have a manager who will be able to tap in to the foreign market, but I hope he has his contacts in the English game who can unearth homegrown talent too, like Pearson and Walsh did with apparent ease.

I hope he taps up Mourinho too at Madrid and brings in a little Pedro for us. We need a new winger, desperately.

Maybe getting a little ahead of myself here, but I think (if he signs of course) he could be the closest thing we've had to :D MUZZY :D for a long time. Anyway, as much as I've liked Matt Oakley, he's not exactly getting any younger is he?

And where on earth have you formed that opinion from? Is it because he has a foreign name?
