Vlad The Impaler Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 I swear Hobbs has been ok with the transition from right to left before?
Guest Bilo Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 I think I speak for most when I say; Notts County or Peterborough away please.
Fosse Boy Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 I think I speak for most when I say; Notts County or Peterborough away please. Who else can we get?
leftsideoverhere Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 Peterborough away please. You are joking, right? It'll be £40 a ticket. "Well, it is the second round, you know." If we ever have to play at London Road again it will be too soon.
lildave3 Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 Defence just baffles me at the minute. Something clearly isn't right. Especially with Hobbs, looks a shadow of the player he was last two years. On the upside, Neilson was heroic, Steve was pulling all the strings, Wellens actually shot, and we played some very good stuff at times. Should have scored more. Another lame home tie next round please.
Thracian Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 Shit the bed, Thracian must be loving this - has anyone seen a post from him lately? I'm around. And heartened by the footballing approach and suggestion that we can commit to scoring goals at least in the second half - and in numbers. But Sousa's a long way off my ideal as yet. For a start I'd have the team super-fit. Second to the ball wouldn't be an option and I wouldn't waste time persisting with slow, ponderous defenders who give the ball away too easily. As for anyone looking less than 100% fit at this stage they'd get every chance to put things right - in the reserves and on the training ground. If you'e going to play pass and move it's got to be with a full team where everyone supports in going forward or back. I'm 100% for attacking football - always have been. But it's got to be played with attitude. And with ruthlessness. Leeds under Revie, Spurs under Nicholson, Liverpool under Shankly and Paisley and United under Ferguson offered examples. What other way is worth playing anyhow?
davieG Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 I swear Hobbs has been ok with the transition from right to left before? Rarely but people are so blinded by him they don't see his inadequacies when playing there

C-man Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 If we defend like that on Saturday, they'll be another 7 goals on show.
Yojoe36 Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 Who was blowing them horns ALL game. I thought they were banned?? Anyway, we had alot of flaws, our midfield is awful. For me we WEREN'T GOOD ENOUGH
Vlad The Impaler Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 It's quite fitting that, two of the most slated players during the last week or so managed to get on the scoresheet. Hopefully this puts a stop to it!
marbelladave Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 I swear Hobbs has been ok with the transition from right to left before? Not really, never really looked comfortable, the main reason Brown played so much. Some players are not that bothered, but neither Morrison nor Hobbs look remotely comfortable on the left, I was hoping that Vitor might be able to play there, given the legendary technique of these fancy dan continentals... Would be interesting to hear from anyone who went as to how things changed when Mareno and Hobbs switched.
Bert Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 This is only our second competitive game under Sousa. We've had 3 different back fours in these 2 games, what we need is a settled defence, and I'm sure in a few weeks that'll come. We can't expect everything to click straightaway, what does need sorting asap is set piece defending. Sure it doesn't look too good right now, but Rome wasn't built in day. Going forward, we look decent and again in time, that'll only get better as well, we've just got to find the right balance. A fanatastic game to watch none the less.
Guest Bilo Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 Who else can we get? In terms of decent and doable away days on a Tuesday night, almost nobody. You are joking, right? It'll be £40 a ticket. "Well, it is the second round, you know." If we ever have to play at London Road again it will be too soon. I imagine it'll almost certainly be less than £20 on the terrace to be honest.

He'll get sacked and we'll get Martin O'neil back. Simples

MC Prussian Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 Good to see us go past League Two opposition in the cup. Four goals, a brace from Der Der Der Matty - our scoring department is well up for it now. Shame the defense can't cope with the current level (so far). Although it's been a rather untested one tonight, I blame it on the inexperience of Moreno and Kennedy. Bring on Middlesbrough and a good draw in the Carling Cup!
Maybes Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 Aslong as we score one more than the opposition do that'll keep me happy...even if its 10-9 or 1-0.
Yojoe36 Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 Next round? Forest at hom... Oh wait. My bad seriously though. I think notts or a bigger club like spurs or MAYBE ASTON VILLA!!!!
