Matt Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 Good chances made, We are making the chances which is encouraging but countered by the amount we are conceding is worrying me massivly. Swansea seemed watertight at the back last season didn't they? There problem was scoring seems the opposite way round judging from the first 2 games of the season
Salieri Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 Well if nothing else, Sousa is providing the fans with a bit of entertainment.
Webbo Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 Well if nothing else, Sousa is providing the fans with a bit of entertainment. No need to bring a book after all.
Salieri Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 Some muppet on RL : 'Sack Sousa and bring in O'Neill'. Okay then.
Wdywd Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 Neilson AND Wellens scoring in the same game makes me think the apocalypse is upon us. That's my thought on the game.
z-layrex Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 Pretty much the same feelings as everyone, delighted with improved goal scoring this season but a bit bemused at the defending since it was the best thing about us last season. Hope it gets better which of course it will.
Ashley Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 Hobbs made a few mistakes today, didn't really look comfortable on the ball to me. Moreno looks a quality ball and he never gave the ball away. Howard is linking up very well in our new passing game. Fryatt should of had a hatrick (atleast) I don't mind if we win 4-3 every week to be honest a wins a win. The pitch looked to be a decent condition but seemed to be cutting up often.
Guest Bilo Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 Like Matt, I'm concerned by the amount we're conceding. No clean sheets under Sousa in pre-season and 6 conceded in two competitive games against supposedly lesser opposition is a major worry. That said, we've scored the same amount and are clearly creating plenty of chances and opportunities for the front two. The fact Fryatt got on the scoresheet twice is good news and Neilson seems to have been reborn so far. Also, we have yet to see the highly rated Vitor take his place in the back four and Hobbs started slowly last season as I recall before finding his form to great effect. Reserving judgement but this win seems to offer more questions than answers.
Fosse Boy Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 Wouldn't worry too much. We've done better than most in our division tonight...
Guest Bilo Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 Wouldn't worry too much. We've done better than most in our division tonight... There is that. Cov, Derby, QPR and Barnsley are all out with Forest looking to follow them.
Super_horns Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 Wouldn't worry too much. We've done better than most in our division tonight... Most of your local rivals are out...bet you guys will enjoy that!

Swansea seemed watertight at the back last season didn't they? There problem was scoring seems the opposite way round judging from the first 2 games of the season you have to remember we're playing a totally new system, and also there were quite a few changes at the back, including a debutant. 18 shots on target, last season we'd be happy with 2 or 3, that kind of attacking footy will inevitably lead to pressure on the defence and they are still adjusting to it.
Fosse Boy Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 Most of your local rivals are out...bet you guys will enjoy that! I'm Claret & Amber for the next few minutes. Cummon Bratfud! Looks like Watford were one of the only ones from our league to go through with any sort of convincing scoreline tonight!
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 Shit the bed, Thracian must be loving this - has anyone seen a post from him lately?

Good points there
Callabinho Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 Most of your local rivals are out...bet you guys will enjoy that! Looks that way, i think you will have a much better season this year!
stu Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 Most of your local rivals are out...bet you guys will enjoy that! Can we have Danny Graham please? Class player... :-)
Vlad The Impaler Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 Who sent the text saying Narborough_fox? That wasn't you?
davieG Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 One of the big problems is no one looks comfortable in the left CB position least of all Hobbs. He started there tonight but was soon swapped with Moreno but once Morrison came on back he went and to be frank his bloody useless in that position. Vitor is a right sided player so we have no one other than Tunchev who can fill that position. Oh and I felt stupid sat there with my book

The player ratings thread begs to differ at present.
leftsideoverhere Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 Two players out of the back four were effectively brand new players, and the reserve team keeper. I'm not too worried about the goals tonight, although Hobbs looking so shaky is disturbing. Moreno looks a class act, so I hope the way he went off in such a hurry tonight wasn't indicative of an injury. Howard probably man-of-the-match for me, ran all game, some real control and a couple of excellent passes that deserved to be assists if only the players around him had been able to finish. And he was cruelly denied a goal when that lovely pull back was just touched out of his reach by either Fryatt or Wellens. Tom Kennedy can take a decent corner, too. Overall, despite the goals conceded I'm reasonably happy with tonight. Any sign of the Swansea fans on here with their books?
leftsideoverhere Posted 10 August 2010 Posted 10 August 2010 He seemed to think N'Guessan played alright? The player ratings thread begs to differ at present. N'Guessan had little spells of looking awesome, including a real bullet header that smashed into the far post with every other player a statue by comparison. But for much of the game he was pushed off the ball too easily, or capped off a good move by kicking the ball without looking up and just turning possession over to Macclesfield. N'Guessan is a classic 'enigma' player. He looks strong, yet so often fails to stand up to physical defenders. He can do something outstanding one minute and then fade away completely for long periods. He doesn't give up as such, but seems to be somewhere else too much of the time, either with the ball or without it.
