Unit Posted 15 August 2010 Posted 15 August 2010 This might interest a few of you, a steward told me this today, basically if you stand, you're liable to be kicked out. correct? All you fosse boys and us lot getting stick in sk2 by the stewards? No, if you have a season ticket, they forgot to print the bit that says ejection from the ground for standing up (it is on normal tickets), so basically - as this steward said - city are shitting it because if they chuck you out for standing they've ironically not got a leg to stand on. Just thought I'd inform you.
ramboacdc Posted 15 August 2010 Posted 15 August 2010 so youre saying to us fans who didnt buy season tickets and wanna stand that we need to go back in time and buy season tickets? ill get my TARDIS warmed up! funny loophole though
Ashley Posted 15 August 2010 Posted 15 August 2010 Absolutely great, thankyou for this information the stewards in N Block were right pricks today. There's even a scottish steward who swears at you when he asks you to sit down.
Ozwin Posted 15 August 2010 Posted 15 August 2010 Seriously is this what football has become, fearing to stand at a football match? People are considerate, they go to the back or specifically get tickets for the back if they want to stand, they always have. It's not like some twat is standing in row A ffs. It's almost like the club/H&S people have to give the stewards something to do so they can justify paying them because let's face it all they do for 90 minutes is sit on their arses/stand around watching the game for free. It's not the stewards faults really I suppose though, they probably feel embarassed to even ask for such a pathetic request.

Entry to the ground is subject to acceptance of the Ground Regulations which are displayed at or near each turnstile. The Ground Regulations make it clear that anybody who fails to comply with a reasonable instruction of a steward is liable to be ejected. It is specifically stated that standing in seating areas is not allowed whilst the game is in progress and that persistent standing may lead to ejection from the ground. There is no loophole.

Jay Posted 15 August 2010 Posted 15 August 2010 Tosh. Open Season Ticket. Look at Terms and Conditions. Read Point 13. End of. yep persistent standing is not permitted blah blah blah ejection from the ground and withdrawal of st without compensation
Unit Posted 15 August 2010 Author Posted 15 August 2010 Tosh. Open Season Ticket. Look at Terms and Conditions. Read Point 13. End of. ]Bastard, I didn't check it for myself, he's a nice bloke so I doubt he'd have done it on purpose. Oh well, end thread
Bert Posted 15 August 2010 Posted 15 August 2010 Even so, number 10 says "The club has the right to eject anyone failing to comply with any of the ground regulations........"
Leicester_Loyal Posted 15 August 2010 Posted 15 August 2010 When I went away at Palace, a few idiots in the first few rows A-E were all standing, which meant that I could hardly see a thing. There was also kids who weren't much older than 4/5 who couldn't see a thing, what are they supposed to do? When a parent has two children, he can't pick both up to watch the match, and if he did, people behind wouldn't have a chance of seeing the match. At the Walkers yesterday it was much better, no-one in front of me was standing and I was quite high up (row V) Maybe when I went away I was just stuck behind some idiots? I don't mind people standing up when we are on the attack, but when its for 90 minutes, its quite annoying, the only time they sat down was at half time.

Fair enough if people sit down towards the front, you're going to accept that but not everyone wants to be sat down at football. I think the last time we were all stood was Stoke away and the reason against Palace was for the anticipation of the new season etc. The majority of people who like to stand, do generally move towards the back at games to be honest though.

Did the fact that almost every other cvnt was stood up not give you a clue that this might be the general drill and not just a few idiots?!
orangecity23 Posted 15 August 2010 Posted 15 August 2010 Stewards were shit at the front of the kop too yesterday. At the end of the game, they wouldn't let people exit down the front of the stairs in the centre of the kop, even though people were going down the front stairs on the left and right if us, and people have been allowed to exit this way for every flipping game last season. So instead, they blocked the exit and caused a crush of people instead. Nice work tossers, what part of the stewarding health and safety course says that causing a crush is good idea? Bah. Rant over.
Tommeh Posted 15 August 2010 Posted 15 August 2010 If you travel to grounds like Selhurst park, Ashton Gate, Elland Road etc, you should be prepared to stand throughout in my opinion.. places like Coventry and Reading however kick back all afternoon. I'll be very surprised if anyone sits at Pompey next month. It's good that now days our average away end is probably just majority stood since really that Sheff United game in '08.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 15 August 2010 Posted 15 August 2010 I haven't got a problem with people standing tbh, its just the fact that smaller kids can't see anything while their standing, they should be allowed to go to the front or something.
Fosse Boy Posted 15 August 2010 Posted 15 August 2010 Kids love standing at football. The littl'uns behind me at QPR last year were buzzing, standing on the seats. Gives you some faith in the future of our support when you see things like that.
LCFC-ARAB Posted 15 August 2010 Posted 15 August 2010 I used to stand on my seat at Filbert Street when i was a kid, i loved it
Craig Posted 15 August 2010 Posted 15 August 2010 The stewards were an absolute joke yesterday. For the past ten or so years I've always torn out the ticket from the booklet and handed it over, showing the book too. Yesterday I got told in a really aggressive tone that if I do it again I'll not be allowed in pathetic.

That I do agree with. It would be so simple for the club to ask you when you buy away tickets whether you intend to stand or sit at the game, then they could give you a ticket either towards the front or back of the away end accordingly. Sadly the club, the authorities and football in general won't admit that standing happens, so I doubt something like this will ever come to fruition.

Heard some woman telling someone to do that behind meand I just laughed. I do exactly the same, saves everyone time and causes no trouble whatsoever. Stupid woman.

Or the fan could ask for a ticket at the back if they intend to stand, surely simpler and doesn't require LCFc to be seen to be encouraging standing at other clubs.
