dave_the_fox Posted 18 August 2010 Posted 18 August 2010 Benjani linked in the daily star this morning.
teblin Posted 18 August 2010 Posted 18 August 2010 Exactly the type of striker we need. Big strong has a bit of pace about him. Be a good alternative to Howard.
Marmite Posted 18 August 2010 Posted 18 August 2010 would be a fantastic signing, he did really well for Portsmouth a few seasons ago
Nick Posted 18 August 2010 Posted 18 August 2010 He's 32 and since being released by City has trained with Sunderland and Blackburn - neither which wanted to offer him a contract. I don't think this players skills at Championship level are in question. He has trained so his fitness shouldn't be terrible...... I would be concerned about his attitude though, isn't this the guy that goes missing and falls asleep at airports screwing up multi million pound deals!? I'd take him though - he really is a touch of class that we don't have.
sdb Posted 18 August 2010 Posted 18 August 2010 would be excellent at this level...attitude depending
Head Honcho Posted 18 August 2010 Posted 18 August 2010 This link sounds more like lazy journalism to me. McKay-Benjani-Mandaric ring any bells! Be good if there was any credence in it, but highly unlikely we'd want to be paying wages anywhere near in region Benjani could command.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 18 August 2010 Posted 18 August 2010 Unlikely signing I would think, but he wouldnt be a bad one!
Leicester_Loyal Posted 18 August 2010 Posted 18 August 2010 Would love to see him here, but we can't offer him big wages, so he'll have to work for a lot less than what he is used to.
J.Lisemore Posted 18 August 2010 Posted 18 August 2010 As if this is is going to happen?... We'll end up signing some unknown from Morecambe or something.
tomtom Posted 18 August 2010 Posted 18 August 2010 Is the term "lazy journalism" trying to be used on every thread for some reason ? Every man and his fox are using it !! :-)
ousefox Posted 18 August 2010 Posted 18 August 2010 Would be a fantastic signing but i am sure we wouldn't want to offer half as much as he was on at City.
artursteppe Posted 18 August 2010 Posted 18 August 2010 Would love to see him here, but we can't offer him big wages, so he'll have to work for a lot less than what he is used to. The Mercury say Paulo may get 4 or 5 million to spend - What sort of wages do you think we 'd have to pay Benjani - over £100,000.00 per week?????
Braunyfox Posted 18 August 2010 Posted 18 August 2010 I would imagine at his age he would realise he is not going to get anywhere near 100,00 a week.
Fox You Forest Posted 18 August 2010 Posted 18 August 2010 The Mercury say Paulo may get 4 or 5 million to spend - What sort of wages do you think we 'd have to pay Benjani - over £100,000.00 per week????? Probably more I reckon.
teblin Posted 18 August 2010 Posted 18 August 2010 I'd guess wages will be performance based more he scores more money, we go up extra cash etc...
samuel Posted 18 August 2010 Posted 18 August 2010 Probably more I reckon. [/quote Probably more?. Are you you for real?.
dpjfox Posted 18 August 2010 Posted 18 August 2010 he was linked with west ham who now seem to be looking elsewhere, would be a coup owners want but unlikely i think
Fox You Forest Posted 18 August 2010 Posted 18 August 2010 Probably more?. Are you you for real?. What do you think.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 18 August 2010 Posted 18 August 2010 The Mercury say Paulo may get 4 or 5 million to spend - What sort of wages do you think we 'd have to pay Benjani - over £100,000.00 per week????? Well even if he is getting 20,000 a week, for lets just say 50 weeks, thats still 1 million pounds. I thought the 4 or 5 million was purely for transfers and not including wages.
samuel Posted 18 August 2010 Posted 18 August 2010 What do you think. If he was getting more than 40k a week I would be surprised.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 18 August 2010 Posted 18 August 2010 At Manchester City Benjani was earning £60,000 a week, according to Wikianswers.
crazylegs1984 Posted 18 August 2010 Posted 18 August 2010 he was linked with west ham who now seem to be looking elsewhere, would be a coup owners want but unlikely i think As unlikely as Bellamy going to Cardiff and koumas going to Cardiff big premiership performers coming to the championship the championship is the new premiership
Fox You Forest Posted 18 August 2010 Posted 18 August 2010 If he was getting more than 40k a week I would be surprised. I'd be amazed if we were prepared to offer anyone much more than half that figure.
