I thought the 4 or 5 million was purely for transfers and not including wages. Yep that's exactly how it works. Greg2607 Posted 19 August 2010 Posted 19 August 2010 Just looked up Benjani's scoring record and cant say it is overly impressive!! if we are going to be spending this kind of money (on assumed wages) then lets at least get someone in who can hit the back of the net. It's fair to say we have "adequate" strikers at this level, DJ and Fryatt will score enough goals this season to at least allow us to challenge for the play off places, but if either of these two were injured for any period of time I would be concerned that Howard et al, would not have the sufficient fire power to keep us competitive. If we are going to bring in a striker who doesnt have a decent scoring record, but is a bit of a unit, then Heskey would have much more resonance with the city faithful (again i'm not claiming he is the answer!!!) but at least we know he'd play for the shirt!

A mixture of attitude and poor fortune saw him squander his peak years on benches or on loan. Bellamy is an extremely rare and exceptional situation brought around by a paranormally wealthy club and his prior relationship with the city. Both are massively different to this link. He's just not going to end up here, is he, really?
