Gallagher seems to be an enigma, a player it is so hard to find a permanent position for.

Very true.

It's sad because he is clearly one of the most technically competent players in our squad but it doesn't really seem like we can accomodate him within our team. He is never a striker and he is no winger either. He would be best suited to the classic number 10 role and that is probably what he would enjoy the most too but the only way he could ever play there on a regular basis would be if we were allowed to field 11 outfield players.

moreno is good; the trouble, is like kermo last year and even a few in the abe thread, there are a lot of city fans who just don't seem to want overseas players to be successful here, so they pick up on the mistakes and most players make mistakes in their first game.

i've only seen moreno play in the reading game and, yes, he had a few nightmare moments, but he did a lot of stuff that was very very nice - for example he took a ball on his chest in his own 6 yard box that was, for a defensive position, a sublime piece of football.

i do think his style of play and abilities are more suited to a deep holding midfield role, though.

I'll bum you in minute!!!

wow, cool - i don't even know you...

>_<

Wellens aint all that, and to be honest just because he may be a fan favourite for some doesnt mean he cant be replaced with someone who is better. i agree with the above and think moreno could do a better job in his position and now we got Abe i dont think Wellens stands a chance, get rid i say.

Because in the 2nd leg against Cardiff Wellens ran around quite a bit and played through an injury at the end, that has elevated him to hero status for a lot of Leicester fans. Moreno and Lamey basically just need to start running around a lot more chasing shadows and the fans will love them.

Wellens for me sees passes that other players don't, he's our Paul Scholes. A lot of the time these passes don't pay off but on the odd occasion where him and Fryatt are on the same wave length it can cause loads of trouble for the opposition. We've got to keep him here, I really think we'd struggle without him. Remember when we were complaining about how **** our midfield was a few years ago?

Fook Wellens & fook Gally!

Neither have done much since they got here. Gally's has been average (at best) aside from 1 good game. Wellens has done nothing of note & most of the time is way to slow to pass, gets caught in possession to often, can't tackle & generally ends up just chasing shadows.

If they don't wanna be here then let them do one (although I'd be very suprised if anyone would actually buy them based on their performances for us)

yeh lets keep players who dont wanna play for us and be a bad atmosphere around the training ground.... and no team morale... good one that!

like sending out a bunch or basic trainees out to fight the taliban day after passing selection.

swear some people on here only care about a few players and not the whole team

if he wants to go let him go can easily be replaced

Never liked Wellens as a person, i remember when he first came here and all i ever saw him say in interviews was at Doncaster we did this at doncaster my manager asked me to play that way, saying doncaster had to sell you for the money. On the pitch, dont get me wrong he is a good player who can pick out a killer pass, not irriplacable though.

Can he though?

His passes are often wayward and i've heard people say that the reason for this is the other players are not on his wavelength. I dont see why he cant just pass it to where the players are? His interviews when he first arrived annoyed me also. Not once did I hear him mention that it was a great opportunity etc, just that he was surprised that Donny had sold him.

fook wellens and any other unhappy player that wants out, get rid of them on loan for now and sell in jan. (except hobbs & king, they have to stay if they like it or not lol)

gally- hatrick against s****horpe, goal of the season against forest, free kicks scored against both scunny and forest, all over his goals were positivley amazing and well thought about goals.

not done much? good one.

Wellens is a hugely important player for the team in my opinion.

Gets box to box, wins the ball, gets things going and can spot a pass.

He's one of those players who does a lot of the non glamorous things for the team, and for that reason I guess those who only judge a player by his Hollywood moments would not understand his importance.

Stop wankin' him off you muppet! Going by your reckoning, anyone who's scored in the past MUST be good!

Robbie Nielsen scored earlier this season....he must be brilliant! Akinbiyi scored once or twice....legend....And that Trevor Benjamin...what a player.

If the guy wants to leave then get rid. We all (Leicester fans) want players who WANT to play for us, not flash in the pans who've been here just over a year & decide that they can do better elsewhere. I'm not arguing the fact that he scored a good goal or 2, but I reiterate what I actually said...."Gally's has been average (at best) aside from 1 good game."

Thats the Scunny game by the way.

That is definitely not a trait of Wellens. He is an average player nothing more, nothing less. Certainly not an integral part of the team and easily replaced.

As for Gallagher can be brilliant but all too often goes missing for games at a time. I remember when he signed a couple of Blackburn fans came on here to say as much. They said he would have a fantastic game and they thought that at last he was on his way to become a great player for them then nothing again.

Would still like to see him in an advanced midfield role for a sustained period though as I think it is his best position. It definitely worked at Leeds with him and King advanced so may be worth a go longer term. If we did play that way I can't see Fryatt getting much game time as we haven't spent 3m on Waghorn to sit on the bench.

Wellens is hugely frustrating. He sees passes that no-one else sees, but that too often includes his own team-mates, leading to Richie back-heeling the ball directly into an opposition player's path while the intended recipient runs off in a different direction. If his cheeky through balls and deceptive passes actually reached their target more than 10% of the time then he'd be an essential player in our midfield, and we'd score a lot more goals.

And since there's been nothing more coming out of the club suggesting that there are any players now wanting away, and the transfer window has shut, can I suggest that we stop with all the keyboard warrior-style "fook em if they don't wanna play for lesta" stuff that has littered this thread. Either they actually do want to play for us, and it was all a misunderstanding, or there's just no other club interested in buying them, but either way they are our players in all likelihood for the next six months (I can't see anyone asking to borrow championship players, when there are Man City cast-offs all over the place) so we should get behind them, and give them a chance to prove their worth again.

Id like Gally to stay, hes one of the most technically gifted players we've seen at this club, and given a chance in the right position, he will get better. playing him on the wing is'nt helping him. for me, he needs to be just off the main striker, but then that means someone else losing out, either fryatt or waghorn :(

Wellens was in life last night.. said he loves leicester and all the transfer request stuff was rubbish. Whether he meant just for him or the whole team i'm not sure. Also said nobody likes DJ, he said he was like a spoilt kid.

I'm glad. I like Wellens. Like the way he stepped up to take the corner against Reading as well when noboddy else seemed to want to. We need more people willing to take responsibility like him.

Good news all round. Glad to hear him say he's happy and glad DJ is now gone if he was disrupting (I can understand why). Cheers for the info.

P.S. Why do the players always seem to go to such rubbish places for a night out.
