Yes another of Milan's signings - but a good one this time. It was him who wanted him as he was glad Mr.Toptw@t gave city the finances to sign Waggy.

someone gives us 3mill to spend on a player and you call him a twat...respect :frusty:

Someone also comes in and sacks off a manager who was genuinely doing things for this club.

so we slag him off at any given opportunity? little bit embarrassing if you ask me, especially if the rumours aren't true, and given the fact he's provided funds for 2 quality players and probably more had PS wanted

it seems the 'in' thing to slag off any aspect of LCFC should the opportunity arise at the moment, i find it a little depressing if i'm honest

I'd agree that slagging him off in this particular thread is completely ridiculous on the basis on signing a player we all love, but deep down I'm disgusted with how Pearson was treated after everything he did for us. And Mr.Top an co were sadly the reason behind everything.

We can't just assume the consortium were 100% the reason NP went and start blaming them. It's so counter productive. As much as I loved NP he's gone now and whilst the consortium may have made the very stupid decision to ship him, nothing can be done about it now. Looking around the people at our club to start making hate figures seems to be a growing trend which i for one am getting quite uncomfortable with.

Also bear in mind that contract negotiations between MM and NP were dragging on well before the consortium showed up, so to start naming Mr Raikons..etc 'TopTwat' after 5 mins at the club is a tad silly imo. For all we know, NP saw the consortium coming, thought 'that could be trouble...contract negotiations not happening...Hull want me, i'm off.

Either way, if fans could group together and take a positive look at things for a bit, i think it could only help. If it's not Oakley or Neilson it's PS, or MM, or Hoo's, or Stringer, or Mr Top. Basically i'm getting bored of the negativity!!

This is probably Milan/Top's signing and their way of trying to get the fans onside. They know that Waggy is loved here. I doubt that PS would have been too bothered about signing Waghorn tbh.

I'm truly delighted he's signed for us but I'm rather doubtful about whether he will fit into this system we have. I'm not sure he'll be effective as he was for NP. Lets hope he is!

If the signing of Waggy had little to do with Sousa then will he even pick him? I'm sure MM will 'encourage' him to select him, plus Sousa will become even more unpopular with the fans if he marginalised him without at least giving him a crack.

This place is getting worst than the x-files.

Poeple are coming to all sorts of conclusions with dubious evidence, i'm just waiting to hear how aliens we're involved now in NP leaving etc.,

Fact is NP is gone, i never wanted to see him gone but he is.

I doubt Sousa, after all the talk he gave of being his own man is just going to let the new owners buy the players for him :crylaugh:

The reaction of some fans remind me of O'niells first joining the club, after McGhee quit to go to a bigger club and over some of the boards objections who wanted Mike Walker.

The best thing to do is chill out and see if Sousa can get the team playing the way he wants and winning, much like Swansea we're doing last season.

But that's not the case though, as has been confirmed by at least two reputable sources now - possibly more?

The idea of investment is positive, and has already improved the squad. Waghorn is an excellent signing and one that could not have been done without the extra cash, and on first inspections Abe seems to be quite a coup for us. Player recruitment doesn't worry me in the slightest.

But some of the decisions at the top do. There's nothing that can be done now about the whole Pearson scenario, but what happens if it all goes tits up for the new owners under Sousa? A new continental manager with a 'high-profile' to make the same mistakes? I know I'm thinking ahead here in a negative way but our owners' decision making thus far is somewhat concerning.

That said it could all prove meaningless. I genuinely believe this team will come good under Sousa eventually, even if it's not this season. He's in place because they want him to be and he will be given a chance to improve the situation.

If we got £1.5 million for DJ + his wages that could well be a total of close £2.5million so imo we have a better player, who wants to play for the club and doesn't have a crap moustache like DJ

Fantastic point that would be easy to forget

I think NP has shown alot of Integrity by not opening his mouth as of why he left us. We now need to move on though, and stop with all the negative conspiracies.

Paulo Sousa's Blue 'N' White army... :scarf::scarf:

Gagged no doubt.

Sousa must've had something to do with this deal. If he leaves a £2 million player on the bench every week or not even in the squad the owners will want to know why.

This signing will help, in the immediate term, to get supporters on his side. If he assists us in getting up the table then it's good all round business.

From SSN website

Martyn Waghorn rejoined Leicester because he did not think he was offered a fair chance to stake a claim for a first-team place at Sunderland.

The striker returned to the Walkers Stadium on summer transfer deadline day after an excellent season-long loan with the Foxes in 2009/10.

Waghorn finished top scorer for Leicester in the last campaign after netting 12 goals, but that was not enough to impress Sunderland boss Steve Bruce, who signed Danny Welbeck and Asamoah Gyan.

The 20-year-old was therefore happy to seal a £3million permanent exit from the Stadium of Light, despite joining the Black Cats' youth set-up in 1998.

Shame

"It wasn't that much of a wrench having to leave," he told The Chronicle. "It was just sad they didn't give me a chance and I didn't get a fair crack of the whip.

"It was sad to be leaving after 13 years at the club but it has happened and I have to move on now. That's football.

"I am at Leicester now and I'm there for the next four years, so hopefully I can do a job for the club.

"Steve Bruce called me and told me what was going on so it was nice to get that phone call.

"It is nice to have heard that the fans cared, it is a shame I didn't get to show them an awful lot."

Well Waggy is the first signing I'm genuinely pleased about since Sousa came in... all these unheard of, unproven, gambles from far and wide aren't exactly what I was hoping for at the start of the year... kinda wreaks of what happened a few years back.

1. Start the year with a new manager.

2. State that we'll be in the Prem in a few years.

3. Sign players from everywhere regardless of whether they've been tested at this level and try and make them all work together.

4. Start badly in the league.

5. Worry starts to creep in to fans and players alike.

6. Manager goes.

7. Panic sets in.

8. We all know where we ended up...

EDIT: I do hope I'm wrong though and all these signings come through for us and we storm up the league to automatic promotion!

Bruce

Sunderland boss Steve Bruce has explained the sale of Martyn Waghorn to Leicester City.

Bruce felt the deal was too good to turn down.

He told The Journal: “You never want to lose one of your young players.

“Martyn has a big future in the game but he is not quite ready for the Premier League yet. I wish him well.

“He is a great kid, but they offered a staggering amount of money so we managed to put that in the kitty as well.”
