Babylon Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 As much as I appreciate having Waghorn back at Leicester, £3m is a whole lot of money for a player at his age and with that little experience. I honestly hope the lad will pay back that steep price by scoring a ton of goals... Preferrably starting against Coventry next weekend. This isn't just about buying a young player, it's about pleasing the fans, showing we mean business and getting a buzz back around the ground and with the players. It's done the trick for the fans, hopefully it works for the players too.
Glenfield Fox Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Can't believe he cost 3 million On Sunderland OS - Nothing on ours though yet. Says fee "rising to £3m" Probably instalments based on appearances and promotion etc.
Mee Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Thank you. I can honestly say that there's no way this site would have held up with +1000 users online before Mark did the recent upgrade... which would have meant many, many frustrated FTers as today's transfer deadline was announced, myself included. Mark hates asking for donations himself but he pays for the running of this site from his own pocket and any donations, however small, make a huge difference. C'mon folks, I'm sure you can all afford to put your hand in your pocket Paypal account and donate a small amount. So glad he is back. Glad enough to put my hand in my pocket. You will never hear me say that again.

The £3m tag will be a snip if he helps us return to the promised land..
davieG Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Sunderland OS Sunderland striker Martyn Waghorn has completed a move from the Black Cats to npower Championship side Leicester City for a fee rising to £3m. The 20 year-old rejoins the Foxes after a hugely-successful loan spell at the Walkers Stadium last season where he bagged 12 goals in 43 appearances and was named the club's Young Player of the Year. Waghorn rose through the ranks at Sunderland's Academy of Light youth setup, making his first team debut against Manchester United aged just 17 under former manager Roy Keane. He bagged a brace during pre-season this summer as the first team kicked off its season preparations with a 2-1 win over a Munster XI in Limerick. The striker has previously enjoyed a loan spell with Charlton Athletic and has represented England at Under 19 level.
FrankieADZ Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 maybe this is one of the reasons they took our folks and Bovril away for the Boro game. Great to have him back
HankMarvin Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 I know the fans will be as pleased as I am at the return of Waggy. I know that Paulo has also wanted to make this signing for quite some time.
Craig Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 http://www.lcfc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10274~2140360,00.html No number... Hmmm... Whos is he having then?
Salieri Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Absolutely over the moon with bringing Waggy back to the club. People are moaning about the price but who knows, that could look like a steal in years to come. So it's just DJ out at the moment? Fantastic if it stays that way.
leftsideoverhere Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Likewise to be honest. Pleased with Waghorn but we've not addressed the problem area of centre back. Vitor? Tunchev? One or other (or both) of those coming back will make the CB position a lot less of a problem.
Legend_in_blue Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 I don't see this as a huge transfer fee. It's what you have to pay for a young quality player. Hopefully, our season starts here.
Aumski Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 -----------------Weale-------------------- Neilson----Morrison---Hobbs---Bruno ------------------Abe----------------------- ----------King---------Wellens----------- Dyer-----------------------------Waghorn -----------------Fryatt---------------------- Logan Lamey Moreno DNG Oakley Gallagher Howard Not too shabby really i recon it'l be ----------------Weale-------------------- Neilson----Morrison---Hobbs---Bruno--- ---------Moreno---------Abe----------------------- --------------King/Wellens----------- Dyer--------------------------------------- -----------------Fryatt-----------Waghorn------- waggy will be more up front, like a left side's striker rather then a winger. but sousa's quite defence minded, rather then attacking even though he complains about goals. so 2 dm's 1 cm/acm then dyer as a winger. he'l also loan a new defender.
sdb Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 http://www.lcfc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10274~2140360,00.html WWWWWAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!

Stopping past the lcfc shop first tho, yellow kit with waghorn on the back yes please!!!!! Oh and i would have been happy givibg sunderland the whole 13mil for gyan just to get waggy here perm
NGoloMode Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 No number... Hmmm... Whos is he having then? 16 or 24
1964FOX Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 For those worried about the price it does say RISING to 3 million so not as bad as first reported. Personally I don't care how much as I am not paying the new owners are and they have 7 million change for January
darko2k7 Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Stringer The Premier League have confirmed that Martyn Waghorn is a Leicester City player, the fee will RISE to £3m- night night.
Guest shearfox Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Well, perhaps. But I'd like to see what Moreno is like playing in midfield. But he's been shocking playing at the back so far Yeah I agree I want to see him in his proper position before calling him, its not his fault he has been told to play out of position which he clearly can not cope with in this division. Anyway Waghorn is going on my shirt straight the way...
MrLuke Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Can't believe there was 1000+ on this. Actually I can as I was bumping into people on the way home trying to view it on my phone...
Maybes Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Vitor? Tunchev? One or other (or both) of those coming back will make the CB position a lot less of a problem. We will see...... Tunchev - plauged with injury Vitor - promising and will hopefully be back soon.
Jimothy Posted 31 August 2010 Posted 31 August 2010 Official site have been amazingly quick with this one, I was expecting them to announce this in mid October.
