bald reynard Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 As a poor s*d living in t'north, could someone post player ratings for the Cardiff game please ?
BlueAndWhiteArmy1 Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 Ikeme 6/7 Neilson 8 Morrison 7 Hobbs 7 Burner 7 King 9 Oakley 6 Wellens 7 Dyer 8 Howard 6 Waghorn 8 Overall good performance, and definitely deserved to win.
davieG Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 Ikeme 5 Neilson 8 Morrison 8 Hobbs 7 Burner 7 King 9 Oakley 6 Wellens 6 Dyer 8 Howard 6 Waghorn 7 Gallagher 7 Abe 6
orangecity23 Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 Ikeme: 6 Had a howler for the goal, otherwise did reasonably well, if a bit flappy. Good distribution. Berner: 7.5 Thats more like it. Nothing much got past him. Hobbs: 8 More commanding in the air, decent on the ball too. Morrison: 8 Ditto Hobbs. Neilson: 9 Nothing got past him today, he was fantastic. And the patented Neilson spoon cross caused some havoc in the Cardiff box. Wellens: 7.5 Got stuck in, tried a few Hollywood balls that didn't come off, but was good at driving forwards and had a very good second half. Oakley: 9 Good game grandpa, good game. Tackled like a demon and dominated the midfield. King: 10 2 chances. 2 goals. Always looking to ghost into the box, he was unmarkable tonight. Dyer: 9 Another quality game for Llloyd, should have scored his one on one for a richly deserved goal. Caused both full backs loads of trouble. Waghorn: 8 Great to see him back, flashed a few shots wide and hit a decent free kick. Linked up well with Neilson Howard: 8 Won so many headers, held the ball up very well. Good stuff. Subs: Abe N/A Not on long, looks pretty speedy. Seemed a bit out of sorts in the attacking midfield role, will probably be more at home in the holding role. Gallagher N/A Some good touches, played his part for the last part of the match.
savedave Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 how was Yuki Abe for the 10 or so minutes he played?
Finnegan Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 Ikeme - 6 Scared the shit out of me a few times under the high ball but generally didn't have too much to do. Had no chance for their cross. Neilson - 7.5 Where the hell did he come from? Totally unrecognisable to the Neilson of last year. Bit AWOL for their goal mind. Morrison - 7 Solid. My eyes are terrible and I was the opposite end of the ground, did he miss a sitter header in the first half? Hobbs - 7 Solid. Burner - 7 King - 10 What a champion. Does all the running for himself and Howard and two fantastic finishes showing both sides of his scoring potential. Oakley - 6 Might be harsh but I just thought he was anonymous. Hope it's him that's dropped for Abe and not Wellens. Wellens - 7 Busy, some good cut outs and interceptions and a couple of good tackles. Classic Wellens. Dyer - 9 Adore Lloyd Dyer. Would have been my MON if he could finish . Terrified Cardiff. Howard - 6 Don't think he did anything wrong. I don't want to be critical of Howard I just think he's a waste in this system. Was important to Pearson - less so to Sousa. Waghorn - 8 Good return, hope he'll go from strength to strength again - excellent with the ball and some wicked deliveries from corners.
Finnegan Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 how was Yuki Abe for the 10 or so minutes he played? Looked a little bit nervous to me. Wasn't on long enough to make an impact, one almost-sloppy pass to Neilson on the touchline but otherwise fairly assured. Made a fair few positive runs that weren't picked out by his team-mates. Possible nerves / not quite settled yet best illustrated by him not even approaching the free kick at the end and leaving it for Dyer to have a somewhat tame shot. Definite prospect, needs to settle.
C-man Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 To be fair to Abe, he found some nice pockets of space on the edge of the area. I think he'll be useful once he masters the phrase 'fvcking pass it!' Ikeme 6 Neilson 9 Hobbs 7 Morrison 8 Berner 7 Oakley 7 Wellens 7 King 9 Dyer 8 Waghorn 7 Howard 7
lcfc81 Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 I suprised Oakley is getting generally low marks and would probably have to disagree. I thought he had a blinder in the middle with a real bite in his tackle, and that shot, where he got all that power from I'll never know.
Finnegan Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 I think he'll be useful once he masters the phrase 'fvcking pass it!' Yes, exactly. Often just wasn't picked out despite some very good movement, I thought.
milan_foxes Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 Ikeme - 7.5 Neilson - 9 - BLOODY AMAZING! Hobbs - 7.5 Morrison - 7.5 Berner - 8 Waghorn - (1st half - 7) (2nd half - 9) Oakley - 8.5 King - 10 Wellens - 8 Dyer - 9.5 Howard - 6
David Guiza Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 Ikeme 6, couldn't really see the goal so I can't really judge him but other that a decent game. Neilson 8, top quality a changed man. Morrison 7, solid Hobbs 7, ditto Berner 7, last two games a lot better. Waghorn 7, always a threat Dyer 7, ditto Oakley 7, same as Berner Wellens, ditto King 8, just gets better and better Howard 7, held the ball up very well
Guppy Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 To be fair to Abe, he found some nice pockets of space on the edge of the area. Clazie Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 Ikeme - 6 - Not that much to do, bit flappy at corners but otherwise fine. Nielson - 10 - My man of the match. Unbeatable, took the Cardiff wingers out of the game and caused huge problems when overlapping in the other half. Hobbs - 7 - Solid, nothing special. Couple of slips but otherwise good. Morrison - 7.5 - Same as Hobbs but caused problems in the Cardiff box at corners and free kicks. Berner - 8 - Strong, hard to beat and good going forward. Wellens - 7 - Good in the tackle but tried the hollywood pass far to often. Oakley - 8 - Mostly good, but even after making a mistake battled back to redeem himself. Good lad. King - 9.5 - Top dog. Waghorn - first half 6, second half 7 - Don't like him as much on the wings, feel he cuts in too often to shoot. However, mazy runs, good delivery and tackling back made up for occaisonal anonyminity. Howard - 8 - GOOD HEAD. Slightly isolated but never stopped trying. Dyer - 8 - No longer 'league one lloyd'. Would've got higher but he missed an absolute sitter. Subs not on long enough to be rated.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 Ikeme - 6.5 Neilson - 8 Hobbs - 7.5 Morrison - 7.5 Berner - 7 Waghorn - 7.5 Oakley - 7.5 King - 9 Wellens - 8 Dyer - 8 Howard - 7
JoeyB Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 Howard - 6 Don't think he did anything wrong. I don't want to be critical of Howard I just think he's a waste in this system. Was important to Pearson - less so to Sousa. huh sorry? i thougth Howard was brill tonight, he held the ball up well and created more chances, i think it was difficult to pick out a player who didn't perform well,
acooling08 Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 Ikeme - 7 - He'll probably be disappointed with the goal. Not too sure. Neilson - 9 - He really is a great player, almost like a wing back at times. Morrison - 9 - Won EVERYTHING in the air. Hobbs - 9 - Ditto Morro. Berner - 8 - Solid, worked hard. Dyer - 9 - LORD DYER. Would be 10 if he'd buried the 1 on 1. King - 10 - MOTM. We'll do well to keep him Oakley - 8 - Moaners Fvck off. Solid. Wellens - 9 - Got stuck in. Phenominal ball to King for the 1st. Waggy - 9 - His delivery from out wide and set pieces is ace. He didn't half work hard. Howard - 8 - Got a rough time as always. Held in up well and tried so hard. Header cleared off the line.
dogadug Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 Ikeme - 6 Neilson - 9 Hobbs - 8 Morrison - 8 Berner - 8 Oakley - 7 Wellens - 8 King - 10 Dyer - 9 Howard - 8 Waghorn - 8

Tommeh Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 Ikeme - 7. Goal was a fluke. fu ck all he could do about it. Neilson - 8 - Still think Morrison is our long term right back but Robbie was fantastic tonight. Hobbs - 7 Morrison - 7 Berner - 6 King - 9 - Immense Wellens - 9 Not his best 1st but ran things in the 2nd. 2 absolutely brilliant assists for Kingy's goals too. Oakley - 8 - Pleasantly surprised, certainly room for him on this display. Waghorn - 7 Howard - 6 - I'm one of his biggest fans, but the way we've started playing football, he has to be an impact player off the bench for me. Dyer - 7 Really impressed tonight. Keep that up and we'll be in the top 6 in no time.
martyn Posted 14 September 2010 Posted 14 September 2010 Ikeme 6 Neilson 8 Hobbs 6.5 Morrison 8 Berner 7 Oakley 7.5 Wellens 7.5 King 8 Dyer 9 MOTM Howard 7 Waghorn 7
