Louise Posted 24 May 2005 Posted 24 May 2005 Strange, but I like it, and how tall is Stearman Leicester City today revealed their new look away kit for the next two seasons. The JJB designed kit features a white shirt with black and pale blue sash, black shorts and black socks and is a new variation on the black and pale blue colour scheme adopted by Leicester Fosse way back in 1884. The strip will be worn by the club throughout next season and the 2006-07 campaign. Club captain Danny Tiatto, Richard Stearman and Joey Gudjonsson were the first to model the new kit - which will be available to pre-order soon on the club's official website. Retail manager Ben Swift said: "Our black away kit for the past two away seasons, based on the club's 1884 strip, was extremely popular with supporters. "Many of our fans had expressed a preference for a white kit so we have incorporated a white shirt into the design that continues to use the black and Cambridge blue colours that have proved so popular. "This is another extremely well constructed and very high quality kit from JJB Sports which we are sure will be a big hit." The kit will be priced exactly the same as City's popular new blue home strip - which also operates on a one-year cycle - with adult shirts costing £35 and junior shirts £25. Given that City's first choice kit is blue, there will be occasions when the club will need to wear a third choice strip. A new limited edition two-year cycle third kit will be officially launched by the club in July. http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/...~668385,00.html
Mark Posted 24 May 2005 Posted 24 May 2005 Nice, i'm sure they'll be many complaints about it but it's the same sort of design as the hugely popular black kit. Much better than the plain white shirt i was dreading.
Louise Posted 24 May 2005 Author Posted 24 May 2005 I didn't want to buy the home kit because of the 1-year deal but I like this one and it's a 2-year deal so I might get it instead

What do they mean by 'also operates on a 1 year cycle'? They don't need to use the 'also' if the away kit it a 2 year cycle.
Leicesterboi Posted 24 May 2005 Posted 24 May 2005 I love it...Will defanitely get it. When is it released? it is my birthday soon i hope its out by June.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 24 May 2005 Posted 24 May 2005 I like the colours but the rounded effect on the diagonal stripes looks a little bit dated in my opinion. Stearman must feel like Peter Crouch stood next to those two shortarses.
Steven Posted 24 May 2005 Posted 24 May 2005 i dont like the light blue in there 114196 Smacks too much of Coventry. <_<
Stuliasz Posted 24 May 2005 Posted 24 May 2005 I think its OK, the blue is a bit too flourescent for my liking though, especially on the shorts and socks against the black.

It says a 2 year cycle at the top so the bloke writing the article has made a mistake somewhere.
Louise Posted 24 May 2005 Author Posted 24 May 2005 looks like a packet of embassy cigs 114259 Uh oh, you've found the subliminal message.
