it shoud have been the clap before hand at that was it... once that whistle went it should have been old news..

chanting his name during the game and clapping him after was too much imo...

What are you on about?

We gave the bloke a great deal of respect today, because he did alot for our club and he was driven out.

I clapped after the game, as did the majority of L/K block. Top bloke.

I didn't hear any cheering for him during the game. The only chant I heard was a 'there's only one Nigel Pearson' which I joined in with after the game. Pretty fair considering he gave us the best 2 years we've had in yonks.

Not long after we scored L block started singing 'Pearson, Pearson what's the score?'. I don't know if a big group disapproved or we had a collective sense of guilt but immediately we started singing 'There's only one Nigel Pearson'.

Brilliant at end of the game. He embraced every City player who played under him. Took the applause of the Kop too. Last off the pitch.

it was nice to see at the end. It was like a proper, last goodbye, something which he obviously never got.

He quite clearly shared a great relationship with his players and he had a connection with the fans. He's professional and rightly didn't show that during the match but after the final whistle was blown he let his guard down.

He took his applause and waved a final goodbye. It was a good moment to witness for those of us who had been through the previous 2 years with him ( and the rubbish we had before he arrived!)

That's it now though, I'll always respect him for what he dis for us, but that's his ties with us cut from now on. Like I said it was his chance to say goodbye and our chance to thank him, but he's no longer anything to do with us and we can all move on, happy in the knowledge that we have closure.

It was almost like break up sex!

Glad he got a good reception at the final whistle and reciprocated in turn.

People should not forget what he did for our club. Rescued us from the lowest point in our history and built up a squad of largely homegrown players we could genuinely be proud of, who achieved a great deal last season under his leadership.

We all know he was cunted off by the club in the most disgraceful fashion, and personally I'd rather he was still here continuing his good work than our present celebrity circus (seriously).

NP, thank you for what you did. You shan't be forgotten in a hurry.

Pearson knew what he was doing today. Stood on the edge of his technical area as soon as he came out the tunnel and was the last person to leave the pitch, he wanted a good reaction from the fans to prove a point to Milan.

Glad he got a good reception though and glad he acknowledged it, bit of closure now for both parties.

I didn't even notice him coming out, I may have been too late I'm not sure.

I think what happened today was good to see though. No real emotion during the game from chants or him, but after it was nice to see him shown some appreciation and as has been said, I think the chant/applause at the end, which I was quite happy to join with, was the final goodbye and the closure that we deserved more than anything.

The man worked wonders taking us from our lowest ever position to our best in years.

As others have stated it was a form of closure, a final goodbye. Pearson deserved it, the fans deserved it and in my opinion it was the least we could do after he was fooked over by the board.

I agree tons with the last few posters. People reckon it was OTT but I thought it signalled closure on the whole episode.

I have little doubt he feels it a bit cos the squad here is virtually what he built. It was his team and the fans 95% of the time appreciated him. He never got over to thank us for the support at Cardiff, so he did what he did yesterday and dare I say it, I got a lump in my throat.

why do fans seem to think we have to hate people once they leave our club? people who brought us great times deserve respect - O'Neill, Heskey et al, and Pearson too. fook knows where we'd be without him. I'm not saying we should chant his name throughout games, but every time he comes to the Walkers/Singha stadium he should get a warm reception in recognition of what he did here. There's no shame in showing a little affection toward someone that doesn't work for us any more.

Me too mate, actually felt quite sad

The guys saying we should have ignored Pearson are probably the same clowns that booed Savage last season.

not really. I booed Savage and gave my applause to Pearson

completely different situations

I will always remember what Pearson did and I will always have fond memories of his time here

I used to have find memories of Savage up until his first return here. His part in getting a former team mate sent off and the whole kissing the badge on his brum shirt episode ruined any respect I had for him. Couple that with his comments about us over the last few years (all because he was on the phone every 5 minutes to certain people at the club begging for a move back here but Pearson turned him down) and I'd say it's fair play that he gets that reaction from Leicester fans.

Annoyingly he loves it and plays up to it, but it still won't stop having a strong dislike for the guy and me showing that every time we play against him

If you replace Savage with Oakley at Pride Park then you're correct.

of course he deserved what he got on saturday. We'd been going poorly since adams left 4 years earlier, when pearson came in we were looking at the likes of dowie and gregory as potential managers and had been relegated to league 1.

He brought in some good young players like morrison & hobbs, he was the one who gave king a real run in the team, he was the one who got fryatt firing again, Then after winning the title he got us to push on to another level, without him bringing in waggy on loan last season we never would have got waggy on a permanant this season.

Aside from his signings he also made sure that despite milans presence as an axeman and the media circus that had dogged us the season before he arrived that no attention fell on us even when we'd reached the christmas period and were up there, still with a good chance of automatic promotion. He got us winning again - we may not played free-flowing football but he made us hard to beat and re-established us as a top team in this division.

Even after he was shafted by hoos & milan he didn't come out and throw a paddy, he just went off and got about his business at hull rather than coming out and putting pressure on sousa as he could have done.

great respect for the man, he turned this club around and gave us something to be proud of and that shouldn't be swept under the carpet simply because we now have sven as manager.

let us go forward togther, but not forget what went before us.
