ian_marshall Posted 19 October 2010 Posted 19 October 2010 According to the mirror he refusing to join us until he's recovered fully from his injury so I wouldn't expect him any time soon. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-news-West-Brom-s-Ishmael-Miller-won-t-join-Leicester-on-loan-until-he-is-fully-fit-article605603.html
STUHILL Posted 19 October 2010 Posted 19 October 2010 Just the type of striker we need. Be a great short term option. Jason Roberts if not

Ford Super Sunday Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Big and powerful, the type of striker we miss. As brilliant as we played last night, we still lacked something up front, someone like Miller would be an ideal fit (in theory) Not too fussed about the month loans, Sven seems like he's plugging the gaping gaps will January, when he can go and spend teh monies on the people he wants.
Aixelsyd Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 Ish Millar was a revelation when he first appeared at WBA... score on debut and terrorised defences with his power and pace. Then everyone worked out that he was one footed....... very very very One footed
MikeyT Posted 20 October 2010 Posted 20 October 2010 From SSN West Brom boss Roberto Di Matteo has told Ishmael Miller he will only be allowed to leave on loan once Peter Odemwingie has returned to fitness. Miller was set to play for the reserves on Wednesday in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Chelsea. That would be his first game since August as a thigh injury has restricted the 23-year-old striker to just one game this season - a substitute appearance in the opening-day defeat at Chelsea. Miller has been identified as a potential loan target by new Leicester boss Sven Goran Eriksson, who was Manchester City manager when they sold Miller to the Baggies for £900,000 in January 2008. But with Odemwingie recovering from treatment on a knee problem, Di Matteo is reluctant to let Miller go just yet. Mattock waiting too The Baggies boss has also confirmed left-back Joe Mattock will be granted a short-term loan move once Marek Cech is back in contention. "I haven't spoken to Sven," Di Matteo told the Birmingham Mail. "I can imagine that if he is available for a loan period there will be a lot of interest so it wouldn't surprise me. "Peter's situation has an impact on that. Joe is also a possibility for a loan. "But Joe has been injured himself and has only been training for a short period, but that would be subject to Marek being available too." Eriksson has already signed ex-Aston Villa and Man City striker Darius Vassell for Championship strugglers Leicester while taking Villa centre-half Curtis Davies on loan. The ex-England coach has also put together a shortlist of potential loan strikers which includes Blackburn's former Albion striker Jason Roberts along with Miller.
Aixelsyd Posted 21 October 2010 Posted 21 October 2010 Well he played in that Reserves match and scored a couple http://www.wba.co.uk/page/News/0,,10366~2190929,00.html
markbsac Posted 21 October 2010 Posted 21 October 2010 baggies fan i know said miller is being sent out on loan..but does not really want to come to us...if thats the case miller....STAY AWAY FROM THE FOXES !!!!!
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 21 October 2010 Posted 21 October 2010 Yes - but he seems to have more of a look in under Sven in half the time (possibly down to circumstance, but it seemed Sousa wasn't confident enough in his own signing to chuck him in, to the contrast of Moreno and Vitor?) Moussa wasn't fit when we bought him in, it was a surprise that he was in the squad and off the bench in action as quickly as he was. He is a great signing, and I'm sure you'll see that Abi is too. Unfortunately the guy responsible for bringing them both to the club got sacked this week. Not Svens man, despite 10 years with Wenger & 2 with Marineho. I don't think his salary was big enough!

Ric Flair Posted 21 October 2010 Posted 21 October 2010 I wonder if Sven had anyone go and watch Miller against Chelsea reserves because not only did he score a hat-trick but Chelsea's striekr scored 5!!! Fabio Borini, I wonder how long it is before we are linked with him?

Fabio Borini, I wonder how long it is before we are linked with him? if you read the leicester mercury it says that sven himself was there watching miller play, he was also spotted talking to millers agent. and miller only scored twice.

MrSpaM Posted 21 October 2010 Posted 21 October 2010 Only thing I would say is that I hope Fryatt and Waggy aren't just swept aside, I'm more worried about Fryatt in that regard though. 2+million for a striker who's probably going to be warming the bench if all this happens. Yeh nice one Sousa <_<
Len Finsbury Posted 21 October 2010 Posted 21 October 2010 2+million for a striker who's probably going to be warming the bench if all this happens. Yeh nice one Sousa <_< I'm not sure how much influence Sousa had on Waghorn's capture.
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 21 October 2010 Posted 21 October 2010 Can you elaborate on this a bit please London Foxile? Me is interested. Sorry, to say more would be to betray a confidence. I will say what I can, when I can.
Fox 4 Life Posted 21 October 2010 Posted 21 October 2010 2+million for a striker who's probably going to be warming the bench if all this happens. Yeh nice one Sousa <_< funny how people are so quick to slag Waggy off now, when we signed him it was like the second coming of jesus round here. We all knew Waggy's strengths and limitations when we signed him, wish people would just get behind the lad.

Tommeh Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 Not fussed about him really, 1 month loans are so pointless at this stage of the season and we'd just be acting as the WBA reserve side for him to reach full fitness. Happy with Waghorn, Vassell, Fryatt and Howard certainly till January.

Happy with Waghorn, Vassell, Fryatt and Howard certainly till January. No offence, but I really I don't believe that. If he helps us to pick up valuable points and get some consistency and confidence back in our performances it would be a godsend (see one Davies, C). Anyway, the only reason we're bring in month long loans is to tide us over until January when we can actually sign somebody. Either way, points are points, no matter what portion of the season they come in.

Happy with Waghorn, Vassell, Fryatt and Howard certainly till January. That trio, excluding Vassell, have amassed 5 league goals this season, Andy King has that on his own. Not sure I can see the logic that says that'll see us right until January. I admire the faith, but seriously

I admire the faith, but seriously You can hardly count the Sousa era - if so you would judge Hobbs by the amount of goals conceded. So in the 3 games since Sousa, Fryatt has been out, Vassell wasn't our player and Howard and Waghorn both scored. You'd also note that we have had 4 goals from other players in the squad. Sounds fine to me

Sounds fine to me I think you're arguing for the sake of it. After the number of chances squandered the other night either Sven has total faith in Fryatt or he'll be looking to bring a goal scorer in.
