Ric Flair Posted 19 October 2010 Posted 19 October 2010 He is a player with explosive pace and power, but his injury record is terrible and I suppose that is why he's not playing regularly at Premiership level. It's worth taking a gamble on him if he's over his latest injury and he could well give us a helping hand in moving up the table. Whether he's a long term solution, is hard to tell but he is a very good player.
Zingari Posted 19 October 2010 Posted 19 October 2010 I remember he was great before he was injured badly, would be a god signing. I don't think Ishmael is considered anymore than a minor prophet , certainly not a god
Collier Posted 19 October 2010 Posted 19 October 2010 Get him fit and scoring, and make this a view to a permanent deal.
sdb Posted 19 October 2010 Posted 19 October 2010 good when on form, better than Vassell imo and probably Roberts if we were talking long term, which we're not
Corky Posted 19 October 2010 Posted 19 October 2010 Worth a gamble, great pace and a fantastic shot. Has his injuries but we can monitor that.
singinpete Posted 19 October 2010 Posted 19 October 2010 28 days?? He'll be almost fit by the time he goes back.
Edmund Posted 19 October 2010 Posted 19 October 2010 Isn't he quite injury prone? I wouldn't say he's prone as he's only had the one serious injury if I remember correctly. The problem is the one injury has kept him out for over 14 months. More of a case of regaining confidence and building a solid fitness core once again and then gain match fitness. On his day fully fit, he could become the championships Didier Drogba.
Matt Posted 19 October 2010 Posted 19 October 2010 Very happy if it's who I think it is, I'm sure it's the same player, looks fast, strong and good finisher, just hope we can make it longer than 28 days. And we thought Pearson worked will in the loan Market! Really impressed with what Sven doing so far, hardly been here 5 minutes and he's come in and identified exactly what we needed, not hard but Sousa seemed to struggle.
nickelbyfox Posted 19 October 2010 Posted 19 October 2010 Yea Sven really seems to be getting the wheels ,moving, Miller would be an amazing signing IMO Win today, few more signings and maybe a nice run before christmas would ideally place us to attract some more talent come January!
Edmund Posted 19 October 2010 Posted 19 October 2010 I don't want to sound like a negative prat but I hope Sven gets the balance just right. Too many loan players can spell disaster. You've got to remember a loan player is just that, on loan and not ours. So you've got to consider that their long term ambitions will differ from the rest of the squad and the club.

hackneyfox Posted 19 October 2010 Posted 19 October 2010 I think Sven has recognised that the current squad are crap and have no pace. He'll work the loans market now and come january he'll purchase what he can of the loan players and buy more. I wouldn't expect to see much more than about 4 of the team that existed prior to Sven still playing come the end of January.

I fully respect that and I'm over the moon with Davies and Naughton so far. I just hope we don't end up with 11 loan players all starting ahead of the currents. As others have said, quality over quantity.
Ross-Kemp Posted 19 October 2010 Posted 19 October 2010 You can only have 5 loan players in a matchday squad
Edmund Posted 19 October 2010 Posted 19 October 2010 You can only have 5 loan players in a matchday squad Haha with the amount of football manager I've played over the years I should've known.
Joe. Posted 19 October 2010 Posted 19 October 2010 These players being linked are making me moist, Miller would be a cracking loan signing. Not too convinced by the whole Vassell deal right now but I'd be more than happy to see Miller come through the door, even if it's just for the month.
colbo68 Posted 19 October 2010 Posted 19 October 2010 Linked on a 28 day loan, cracking buy if we signed him! Source: http://www.birminghammail.net/birmingham-sport/west-bromwich-albion-fc/west-bromwich-albion-fc-news/2010/10/19/west-brom-ishmael-miller-becomes-loan-target-97319-27497022/ Super player
ajthefox Posted 19 October 2010 Posted 19 October 2010 Quality player and would no doubt bang a few in even if he was here for a month so it's yet more good news about Svens possible signing. Only thing I would say is that I hope Fryatt and Waggy aren't just swept aside, I'm more worried about Fryatt in that regard though.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 19 October 2010 Posted 19 October 2010 It just goes to show how crap Sousa's signings were really - true the name Sven Goran Erikson helps attract the players, but these guys were still about waiting to be picked up. This is once again looking like potentially shrewd business by Sven, looking for someone who can add something different to the squad and really give himself options, while the player himself needs the move so that he can prove his worth after his career has gone a little flat. There's clearly new found confidence and optimism in the team at the moment, so hopefully if Miller joined he can feed of this and help himself bag goals (this goes for Vassell, Fryatt, Waghorn and Howard as well - with the later notching tonight as well!)
KFS Posted 19 October 2010 Posted 19 October 2010 It just goes to show how crap Sousa's signings were really I agree, but was Moussa a Sousa signing?
Adster Posted 19 October 2010 Posted 19 October 2010 I agree, but was Moussa a Sousa signing? Yes he was.
escos Posted 19 October 2010 Posted 19 October 2010 I would love to see miller in a city shirt. But out of all the names being banded about does anybody know which of them is likely to join us? Bert?
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 19 October 2010 Posted 19 October 2010 I agree, but was Moussa a Sousa signing? Yes - but he seems to have more of a look in under Sven in half the time (possibly down to circumstance, but it seemed Sousa wasn't confident enough in his own signing to chuck him in, to the contrast of Moreno and Vitor?)

That is a good point I seem to remember Sousa saying he was signed for the future.
