West Brom: Ishmael Miller becomes loan target

Oct 19 2010 by Christopher Lepkowski, Birmingham Mail

ISHMAEL Miller has been identified as a potential loan target for Leicester City.

The Foxes were finalising a deal for ex-Villa striker Darius Vassell last night, with Sven-Goran Eriksson on the look-out for another forward.

I understand Miller is among the targets on his list, along with ex-Baggies man Jason Roberts, who is currently with Blackburn.

Miller’s hopes of a move may rest on his fitness, having only returned to full training last Wednesday following a thigh injury. Injuries at the club permitting, Albion have told Miller he can agree a 28-day loan.

He worked with Eriksson during the former England manager’s spell at Manchester City.

The WBA fans I know dont rate him, however at Championship level he can do a job. The times I've seen him hes been quite wasteful. Not sure about this one would prefer Jason Roberts if we had a choice. Miller has pace and power but is not the best finsiher. I think hes a poor mans Heskey.

You just did.

Knew you'd comment something like that. Yes I commented, move along.

6ft 3 and fast as road runner.

Great signing if it comes off.

Big man up front but with more pace and skill than Howard.

Superb.

He sounds like God :o

He has proven himself at this level but he isnt getting games at the baggies and isnt on top of his game. So is 28days long enough? I dont think he'll make an impact but would love to be proven wrong

Good player but I'm not entirely convinced bringing in players just for a month is really wise.

We need points, but we also need a settled side that is going to perform between now and the end of the season.

I think a 4 year old has more pace than Howard

This guy would be a quality player for us, same mould as Waghorn but generally much much better. Fitness would be a concern but he'll come in fighting for his future career like Davies and Naughton are. Plus he has the ability and power to create chances for himself, which is handy considering we as a team don't generally create a lot for the strikers.

Miller and Fryatt share same birthday [5th March].

Watch them develop a telepathic understanding relationship.
