Any news of Dyer and Vassell's fitness?

they said Vassell is 2 weeks from fitness, still might be on the bench though, but Fryatt is available now so they might not

Not a slight against Oakley but I can't see him making 3 decent performances in a week given the problems he's had with fitness over the last 12 months.

Fryatt should play. He is our best centre forward by a sizeable distance. He has the same amount of league goals this season as Howard and Waghorn in less than half the amount of minutes.

Best team we could put out IMO- Hopefuly Fryatt will be chomping at the bit to prove him self to SGE after missing 3 games

Same set up as at Leeds.

Gallagher was well off the pace, so he needs a break, work on his fitness maybe?

If fit, Dyer would be a straight replacement for me, and yes I would play him on the right...

If Dyer is not ready, then as per the other night, Waghorn goes to the right with Fryatt leading the line. We were decent at Leeds, don't change too much...

So;

Weale

Naughton--Davies--Hobb--Berner

Oakley--Wellens

Dyer/Waghorn--King--Moussa

Waghorn/Fryatt

Not exactly my first choice but after Leeds, that will do for me...

It's got to be the same that started last night, including Gallagher.

Use Howard and Dyer (if he's fit) as impact subs.

Why would it have to be the same? Because we won and you're saying we cannot improve on that? We won 2-1 (the same as under Soussa), played well, and missed a stack of chances and i didn't get the impression Gallagher was anything special. And even if he was, Dyer's a far better winger and has been one of our most threatening, and certainly our fastest player all season.

Putting him back in the team if fit would only improve the side and give us potential to do even better. Just because Gallagher played his part in the Leeds win doesn't negate how rank he was against Hull and how little impact he's made generally, particularly as a goalscorer.

We've a long way to go before we start getting smug and saying that's as good as our side needs to be. And right now, Dyer has shown himself to be by far the best wide man we've got.

Abso-fooking-lutely...

There is still a lot to be done all over the pitch, Davies may well not stay past the agreed. month so we need to make the best of the impact he is having by making sure our back 4 and center mids form an organised and convincing whole so that even if we have to replace Davies, whoever does so comes into a sttled defense.

Similarly our cental midfield pairing did well, combining well with the defence, we need to continue with this setup to provide a strong platform for the more attacking players.

This brings us to Dyer, as you say our quickest and most direct attacking threat. Personally I like to see him deployed well forward and primarily on the right, without the 'big man' to hit with crosses he is more effective cutting in on his right foot and attacking the goal directly. His pace and direct play is one of our most important assets, exactly the sort of player you need to get up alongside (and ahead of) your front man.

This of couse leaves King to play centrally, in the hole. I know he is a serious goal threat but I worry about him playing too far forward, if he plays virtually as a second striker as he dis once or twice under Sousa, he becomes much easier for the defenders to mark and less effective as a result. I prefer to see him playing his normal box to box game, but with Gallagher seemingly unable to step up it might be the best option for the time being.

All in all the progression from the Hull game, where we started well enough but soon settled back into our old ways, to the Leeds game where we stuck to our game plan for virtually the whole game is very pleasing.

I can!....

4-4-fooking-2, Swansea will murder us, straight down the middle.

Two men up and two men wide, King and Wellens will get over run, it's happened dozens of time over the last couple of seasons...:frusty: :frusty:

Think SGE has said Dyer and Fryatt available, Vitor poss not, Gallagher out, so

Waghorn

Subs: Logan, Cunningham, Morrison, Moreno, Abe, Fryatt, Howard

We'll need to keep Dyer and Sinclair quiet to having Moussa and Dyer wide being able to track back where necessary v.useful.....

I'd like to see something different to 4-4-2 as and when necessary but Sven's a 4-4-2 man and we were totally, totally shit playing 4-5-1 under Sousa.

But rather good playing 4-5-1 under Svennis the other night...

Got us playing rather well and still had time for the ladies....

(Just seen the highlights on iPlayer..<_<)

Fvck 4-5-1, we don't have any forwards all round good enough to play up front on their own, as Sousa proved to us all.

Weale

Naughton - Davies - Hobbs - Berner

Moussa - King - Wellens - Dyer

Howard - Waghorn

Howard in mainly because he's an option in the air, we're not gonna completely outpass these, fact.
