paddy Agyemang Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 Fvck 4-5-1, we don't have any forwards all round good enough to play up front on their own, as Sousa proved to us all. WealeNaughton - Davies - Hobbs - BernerMoussa - King - Wellens - DyerHoward - Waghorn Howard in mainly because he's an option in the air, we're not gonna completely outpass these, fact. what about vassell can he play yet
marbelladave Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 Fvck 4-5-1, we don't have any forwards all round good enough to play up front on their own, as Sousa proved to us all. WealeNaughton - Davies - Hobbs - BernerMoussa - King - Wellens - DyerHoward - Waghorn Howard in mainly because he's an option in the air, we're not gonna completely outpass these, fact. The lack of a quality 'all round forward' is an issue, but against Leeds creating chances was not the problem, taking them was! Dyer and Fryatt, whether starting or from the bench should make a difference, Despite his goal on Tuesday, Howard will not improve our goalscoring on a regular basis, the last year and a bit have shown us that and the only 'option' he gives us is the 'hoof'. Giving the ball back to a side good in possesion is really not a good idea. Also suicidal is a two man midfield against, as you say yourself, a good passing side. With two men up and two men wide the middle is wide open, Swansea will cut us to shreds if we play like that. We have seen this time and time again under Pearson, a dogged 4-4-fooking-2 man if there ever was, why on earth do you think he played Oakley on the right? Because he's a great winger? Not! Even Pearson could see that 4-4-2 not working and tried to switch to a 4-3-3/4-5-1 back in the spring, but his one failing as City manager was that he had neither the flair nor the determination to embrace the change and make it work. Under Sousa out shape was often good, as was our passing play, what was wrong was everything else, fitness, determination, discipline, belief, you name it, we didn't have it.
Adster Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 what about vassell can he play yet he could, but SGE said it will take him up to 2 weeks to regain full fitness as he hasnt played since may. so no he wont be playing.
Collier Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 Weale Naughton Hobbs Davies BernerDyer King Wellens MoussaFryatt Waghorn 4-4-2, Howard as an impact sub, Moussa to cover more central midfield should Dyer bomb on so we don't become too exposed.
Lisburn Fox Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 Weale Naughton Hobbs Davies Berner Oakley King Wellens Dyer/Moussa Fryatt Waghorn Logan, Moussa, Morrison, Cunningham, Howard, Gallagher, Abe
Wymsey Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 Weale Naughton Hobbs Davies Berner Oakley King Wellens Dyer/Moussa Fryatt Waghorn Logan, Moussa, Morrison, Cunningham, Howard, Gallagher, Abe x 2
Dylan Posted 22 October 2010 Posted 22 October 2010 Weale Naughton Hobbs Davies Berner Dyer King Wellens Moussa Fryatt Waghorn Subs: Logan, Morrison, Cunningham, Abe/Gallagher, Oakley, Howard, Crncic. Defence will stay the same of course. Option between 4-4-2/4-5-1. I would personally go for 4-4-2 with Dyer and Moussa on the sides, with King in CM partnered with either Wellens/Abe. From what i've heard on commentary, as soon as he came on, the game changed but i'd still stick with Wellens. If we go 4-5-1, i'd stick Waghorn up front by himself with Abe as the extra CM- holding: Fryatt dropping to the bench. However, I can't see Oakley being dropped so somehow he'll play. Also, I don't think Cunningham would've come here to just be a squad player, so he'll make the bench AT LEAST in my opinion. However, I don't think you can drop Berner, so I can see him being used a left-midfielder instead of Moussa/Dyer.
davieG Posted 23 October 2010 Posted 23 October 2010 Dyer could return - http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/sport/Lloyd-Dyer-set-return-Leicester-City-Swansea/article-2790313-detail/article.html? The high-flying Swans are sixth in the Championship and unbeaten at the Liberty Stadium for seventh monthshttp://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/159582/Garry-Monk-on-Eriksson-fox-hunt/? .
Simmo86 Posted 23 October 2010 Posted 23 October 2010 Think SGE has said Dyer and Fryatt available, Vitor poss not, Gallagher out, so Weale Naughton Davies Hobbs Berner Dyer Oakley Wellens King Moussa Waghorn Subs: Logan, Cunningham, Morrison, Moreno, Abe, Fryatt, Howard We'll need to keep Dyer and Sinclair quiet to having Moussa and Dyer wide being able to track back where necessary v.useful..... Yes please. Perfect for this game. Even better with Lloydy replacing Gallagher
MikeyT Posted 23 October 2010 Posted 23 October 2010 Same team but with Dyer in for Gally if fit. Give Abe half hour in the middle for Oakley or Wellens if possible and appropriate. Yep i'd go with that.
FoxyPV Posted 23 October 2010 Posted 23 October 2010 I can!.... 4-4-fooking-2, Swansea will murder us, straight down the middle. Two men up and two men wide, King and Wellens will get over run, it's happened dozens of time over the last couple of seasons... :frusty: I'd like to see something different to 4-4-2 as and when necessary but Sven's a 4-4-2 man and we were totally, totally shit playing 4-5-1 under Sousa. As ttfn said but especially with Fryatt back I can't see Sven going with anything but a 4-4-2.
shailen Posted 23 October 2010 Posted 23 October 2010 Weale Naughton - Davies - Hobbs - Berner Moussa - Oakley- Wellens - Dyer King - Waghorn Playing king off waghorn for me as we need a 5 man midfield but still need an extra man up front as waghorn cant do the job on his own.
fatmando Posted 23 October 2010 Posted 23 October 2010 Weale Naughton, Davies, Hobbs, Berner Oakley, Wellens, King, Cunningham Waghorn, Fryatt Abe coming on 2nd half.
mancunianfox Posted 23 October 2010 Posted 23 October 2010 Agree we might need a 4-5-1 / 4-3-3 for this. Weale Naughton Hobbs Davies Berner Moussa Oakley King Wellens Dyer Fryatt
Tilley Posted 23 October 2010 Posted 23 October 2010 Weale Naughton Davies Hobbs BernerDyer Oakley King MoussaFryatt Waghorn
MC Prussian Posted 23 October 2010 Posted 23 October 2010 Weale Berner Hobbs Davies Naughton Gallagher Wellens King Oakley Fryatt Waghorn Subs: Logan, Cunningham, Vitor, Abe, Dyer, Moussa, Howard
Jackirius Posted 23 October 2010 Posted 23 October 2010 Weale Naughton Davies Hobbs BernerDyer Oakley King MoussaFryatt Waghorn
cc_star Posted 23 October 2010 Posted 23 October 2010 4-5-1 from me with King pushing on Weale Naughton - Davies - Hobbs - Berner Moussa - Oakley - Wellens - Dyer King Waghorn I think we need to be tighter in midfield so am not convinced about playing Dyer tbh,
MONreborn Posted 23 October 2010 Posted 23 October 2010 The team today is GK: Weale RB: Naughton LB: Cunningham CB: Hobbs CB: Davies LW: Dyer RW: Moussa CM: Wellens CM: King CM: Oakley ST: Fryatt Logan, morrison, moreno, waghorn abi, berner, howard
MikeyT Posted 23 October 2010 Posted 23 October 2010 Cannot for the life of me wonder why Berner has been dropped!
Narborough_fox Posted 23 October 2010 Posted 23 October 2010 I can only think that Berner has picked up an injury or he still isn't fit as he hasn't looked fit all season.
ScouseFox Posted 23 October 2010 Posted 23 October 2010 Fryatt up top by himself, be interesting to see how that works out.
Bryn Posted 23 October 2010 Posted 23 October 2010 I think that's the right team personally, give Waghorn a bit of a rest, I'd be more comfortable with Fryatt (whose goals per minute ratio is quite good this season I think?) in a lone role than Waggy. Gallagher rightly dropped, Berner probably injured or unfit. The idea of not recalling a fit Dyer was laughable as well, we'd have ruined Hull with him in team, the game was begging for him, and he's in great form.
