MC Prussian Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 Anyone know if theres a phone in tonight i feel like phoning up mmmm what could I call in about! Why we didn't play Michael Morrison.
stockyfox Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 Yep! tonight - 6 o'clock till 7 (Peter from Stockport aka Stockyfox)
stockyfox Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 Actually, when Bruno Berner was subbed through injury, wouldn't it have been a better plan to bring Mancini on rather than Neilson?
adam1 Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 Here is my attempt for stockport fox. "Errr yeah we erm need to replace Wellens. Erm he doesn't score enough and he disappears for 95% of games he simply doesn't try ifya know what i mean. I didn't watch or listen to the game yesterday but he did exactly the same thing." "Another problem is that Dyer is a league 1 player at best ifya know what I mean. He just isn't quick enough to play at this level. He's the slowest player we have. Why hasn't Sven recalled Gradel if you know what I mean" "we wont finish higher then 17th. We have a very good chance of getting into the playoffs tho ifya know what i mean" Ifya know what I mean is a direct reference to another rl phone caller. Remember to talk like a disabled. You are from stockport so imagine how someone from Edgeley speaks after a partial lobotomy and 6 cans of special brew.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 10 January 2011 Posted 10 January 2011 Andy King's horrific challenge on Joe Hart made me ashamed to be a Leicester fan. He could have killed him.

Anyway don't we associate Birch with 'ya know what I mean? However, I hope you found my contribution of some interest and not too much of a plonker!

However, I hope you found my contribution of some interest and not too much of a plonker! I'm sure there was another caller who talked absolute crap, never made a point and ended everything with youknowwhat i mean. Perhaps someone can inform me of his name. I would never insult the birch! Yes your insight was very good. The man evening news comments were interesting. So the jury is still out. RL phone in to troll or not!

RL phone in to troll or not! Don't know which one you're referring to, but Stockport Pete was a bit cringeworthy. I appreciate his input, but he often forgets that the Phone-In lasts for only 50 minutes, not 50 hours. Listen again: http://www.bbc.co.uk...rum_10_01_2011/ (Annoying Peter comes in at roughly 34 minutes)

I'll endeavour to make it brief on any future occasion. When you live in an area where you are surrounded by Man Utd, Man City, and Stockport fans and your neighbour is a West Ham fan and his good lady is a Burnley fan, then it is such a relief to 'talk Leicester City'. Cheers!

Cheers! No offence, Pete. I know from previous episodes that you could ramble on forever (if given the time). Like I said, I appreciate the input (in particular the feedback from the Manchester media), but you know I bet there's others who'd like to voice their opinions, too. Btw, how old are you? Supporting the club since the post-war years - impressed. That makes you around 75, 80 even? I bet there's tons of stories you could tell about the so-called Glory Years.
cambridgefox Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 We need a big target man up front, get max Gradel back from his loan spell? Why is the Leicester support so poor for a big match like Man City, people want Sven out,or there would have been 45k in the stadium innit! How many games will Jack Hobbs miss for the African cup of nations?
danny. Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 I'm listening to this on iPLayer now - it's amazing, first called has said Leicester were unlucky not to beat Man City because both Sol Bamba and Ade Akinbiyi had shots cleared off the line by Man City.
Callabinho Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 It's all ok whilst i was sat on a deckchair outside the Walkers beer bowl stadium, i saw Aaron ramsey, Santa cruz, John carew, Ever Benega, and the Brazil under 19's squad being led enthusiastically into the reception by Muzzy Izzet. Now thats more than Two words, i think ill ring up next Monday and tell everyone.

I'm 67 (born in '43). My Dad was also an out and out City fan. I have seen so many City games over the years and can quite vividly recall many of those matches, players etc. etc. It was indeed a privilidge to have seen the City of the 50's, 60's and 70's especially. One of my favourite stories however is this, As a pupil at Ashby BGS, we had to attend school on a Saturday morning.. I had a ticket for the '63 semi-final v Liverpool at Hillsboro' so I asked the Head for permission to be excused on that day. He said that being in the Upper 6th, he couldn't really stop me but the advanced all kinds of reasons why I should be in school and the importance of education etc. In the end, he realised he was getting nowhere and seeing that I was determined to be go whether I had his consent or not, he said 'Alright then. By the way where are you sitting?' I showed him my ticket. whereupon, his face lit up and he smiled and said ' Oh! I'm on the row behind you!. I could write a book - probably should!

Great stuff that! Btw, there's a Memory Lane thread on Leicester City in the 80ies and 90ies. Maybe you'd like to share some of your stories? Or maybe even start your own spanning the period between 1950 and 1980?
Trav Le Bleu Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 I'm listening to this on iPLayer now - it's amazing, first called has said Leicester were unlucky not to beat Man City because both Sol Bamba and Ade Akinbiyi had shots cleared off the line by Man City. He did! Just listened back to it! Well actually he said Akiubye and he obviously meant Yuki Abe and some kind of vocal dyslexic. Funnily enough the 2nd caller said "it makes you proud to be a Leicester fan!" Obviously he was not referring to the phone-in.

I think he meant Bamba when he said Akinbiyi, definitely not Abe as Abe didn't have a headed shot cleared off the line did he? Obviously thought it was Akinbiyi as both him and Bamba are black are therefore look identical as we all know.

Just listened to the broadcast, and I thought Stockport Pete's contribution was informative, well-presented, excellent. Especially getting the Manchester slant - very interesting.
SMX11 Posted 11 January 2011 Posted 11 January 2011 Peter from Markfield is the best. Last year he had an obsession with power and pace, now it's controlled aggression and grit. He is about right though to be fair to him.
stivesfox Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 Anyone know the number to the phone in? What times best to log a call after a match? Ready to call this programme and show it up for the shambles it is! Any requests! Lets say if I was charles dagnall take the day as outrageous statements galore!
MC Prussian Posted 21 March 2011 Posted 21 March 2011 People... The mandatory Ricardo hater is on the line... No, we haven't spent £10 million on players only!!! When will you realize!!! Stringer makes a good point that no player played really well on Saturday, yet the caller cannot help himself but ramble on about Mee.
leicesterisme Posted 21 March 2011 Posted 21 March 2011 According to one caller we have a player by the name of Ben King
Chairman of the Bored Posted 21 March 2011 Posted 21 March 2011 Oh dear. Ricardo doing a keepy uppy. Live radio at it's best. And to think I pay for this shit through my license fee.
stivesfox Posted 21 March 2011 Posted 21 March 2011 I think the Monday night football on radio Leicester is a pile of dross those on the show sound bored shitless, when fox blogger comes on stringer creams his pants!! The whole show is depressing. I say open the phone lines let the uneducated fools call in and have a 606 type show! Just my opinion before people start backing the show!
MrSpaM Posted 22 March 2011 Posted 22 March 2011 Some of the people who phoned in last night need a major bitch slap. There was at least 3 callers who didnt even know our players names, one even said that we bought Bamba on up front in the second half at the Portsmouth game
