martyn Posted 26 October 2010 Posted 26 October 2010 Abe was one of the more competent performers. Berner rivalling Morrison for worst individual performance of the season although Lamey's "contribution" came close.
Master Fox Posted 26 October 2010 Posted 26 October 2010 King started not Wellens, so you can take a shit off and replace with almost shit. SHIT

Ricey Posted 26 October 2010 Posted 26 October 2010 Logan - 3 - Positional sense is dreadful and a howler for the 2nd Neilson - 6 - Got forward well at times Morrison - 5 - Lacked pace Vitor - 6 - Solid enough Berner - 4 - Not himself, gave the ball away Abe - 6 - Closed down very well and played some nice one touch stuff King - 6 - Decent Moussa - 6 - Ran with the ball well, that's about it Dyer - 6 - Didn't do a great deal Howard - 5 - Wasn't effective until the end Gallagher - 5 - Some good moments but his shooting and free-kicks are woeful Wellens - 6 - Improved things Fryatt - 6 - Didn't get a lot of chances but made some good runs Lamey - 3 - AWFUL, at fault for 2 of the goals

TuptonFox Posted 26 October 2010 Posted 26 October 2010 well you guys are positive aren't you... No, not the result we wanted but we were playing a prem team who has drawn with man u and beat Fulham at the weekend it was gonna be hard plus we didnt gain or lose points from it so lets concentrate on the league and Let it go don't forget Weale at Derby making a shocking error they all do it.... let it go yeaah.?
Finnegan Posted 26 October 2010 Posted 26 October 2010 A lot of overreactions on here, I reckon. I thought we looked reasonable up until Logan's howler, then the heads just dropped and I admit it went down hill. Andy King was a poor choice to take off. Logan - 4; Few good stops but ultimately turned the game when he dropped a shocker. Neilson - 6; Solid enough, positive going forward. Morrison - 6; Reasonable, average enough game. Vitor - 7; Beast! In my eyes completely vindicated himself for the Pompey game and lived up to the hype. Strong, solid. Berner -5; Shocking positional sense and got mugged all night. When covering in the centre and play switches he HAS to be quicker getting back to his position. Abe - 7; Pressured people on the ball and looked far more comfortable with it at his feet. Some good touches in the first half. King - 7; Andy King. Not his best game but we definitely missed him when he went off. I'd have taken Gallagher off, personally. Moussa - 7; Probably too lightweight for CM but he picks out a fantastic ball. Dyer - 6; We've grown to expect better from Dyer, couple of good runs but not his best. Gallagher - 5; Typically frustrating display, few glimpses of quality but often wasteful. Howard - 5; Poor as a lone striker. Works better when he's got someone up with him to flick on to. Wellens - 6; Added a bit of bite but we missed King, sometimes too slow to release. Fryatt - 6; Largely anonymous, we were deflated by the time he got on. Lamey - 4; Not good enough for this level.
Uncle Monty Posted 26 October 2010 Posted 26 October 2010 I think the majority of you guys are being too negative. We lost by four goals granted so I can see your concern. We had nice passages of play and thought that the team were playing well, the problem is we cannot seem to score for toffee and have very bad luck. Logan was shocking at times but then produced a brilliant save from a free kick - and then let one in from a corner! I think we need to sign a top class keeper and a top quality striker for us to properly succeed. West brom played well towards the end and Cox's second was brilliant.

I'd agree with most of this, although I might mark Morrison and Neilson down to a 5 for some shaky moments. The amount of Abe flaming in this thread is ludicrous. He was nowhere near the worst of our players tonight.
wakeyfox01 Posted 26 October 2010 Posted 26 October 2010 From being at the match: Logan 4 - made two brilliant saves, but let himself down with a comical mistake spilling it straight to their attacker Neilson 5 - got skinned time and time again by their left winger but also put in some good tackles, looked a nasty collision which meant he had to go off Morrison 5 - I just don't feel comfortable with him the middle anymore, regularly eneded up with the ball and seemed afraid to pass forward Vitor 8 - Kept the defence together on his own won most of his headers and largely had Bednar in his pocket, looked composed and assured Berner 5 - same as Neilson, every time Barnes got the ball you knew he was getting past him, he hasn't got the pace to keep up anymore Dyer 6 - didn't do anything much wrong, but didn't really attack his fullback on either flank Abe 7 - looked very neat and composed 1st half and looked lacking in confidence in the 2nd but makes numerous intelligent runs and must be sick of never getting the ball Moussa - 7 played really well 1st half, but when he was shifted to the wing he drifted out of the game until the last 10 mins when he livened up again King 7 - abit like Abe made loads of runs but the other players never seemed to pick him out Gallagher 6 - much better than the Hull match and was involved in everything positive we did but still too often gives it away with misdirected hollywood passes Howard 6 - didn't win much in the air tonight but as always full of effort and passion Subs: Lamey 4 - Postcards every single pass he's going to make, which ends up with most being cut out. Won the ball back then played it straight to Cox who went on to score Fryatt 6 - didn't have much to do apart from a couple of half chances, lacks confidence Wellens 8 - ran the show when he came on and managed to keep hold of the ball even when it loked like he was going to lose it, other players lack of movement didn't help him

Bluefoxtim Posted 26 October 2010 Posted 26 October 2010 People are giving Vitor a 2? Seriously? Logan - 3 - Dreadful, no confidence at all. Neilson - 4 - No pace and outclassed Morrison - 5 - Okay Vitor - 8 - Won EVERYTHING. MOTM. Berner - 4 - We've lost our Bruno Abe - 7 - Nice passing and kept a high tempo King - 4 - Anonymous Moussa - 6 - Started slowly but came more into it and looked dangerous at times Dyer - 6 - Some nice runs until he got injured Howard - 6 - Battled hard Gallagher - 4 - Ugh. A fancy-dan who can't do the basics Wellens - 7 - Very bright and got stuck in Fryatt - 4 - Not in the game at all Lamey - 3 - Oh dear
