Jakemoore Posted 1 December 2010 Posted 1 December 2010 Just wondering.....what's the likely hood that Saturday's game will be called off (I.e) how have Watford coped with the snow in recent years?? Don't know if anyone will actually know the answer to this but you never know. Living in London I can say that down South we've only recently been affected by the snow and it's come down thick n fast
hackneyfox Posted 1 December 2010 Posted 1 December 2010 Whereabouts in London is it coming down thick and fast? It isn't in hackney or Chelsea
Jakemoore Posted 1 December 2010 Author Posted 1 December 2010 I'm in the south East but its stopped over the last hour or so, I kinda meant it came down over a short period. I live nearer to Kent then South London.
hackneyfox Posted 1 December 2010 Posted 1 December 2010 Kent has had it bad Things are all clear in the centre but every forecast seems to differ. Metcheck reckons light snow and -4 in watford saturday morning BBC reckons it will be +1 Buy some longjohns
Jakemoore Posted 1 December 2010 Author Posted 1 December 2010 I have plenty of them, two pairs on right now mate
Guest NGoloMode Posted 1 December 2010 Posted 1 December 2010 Theres no snow on the Friday before the game if that helps
hackneyfox Posted 1 December 2010 Posted 1 December 2010 Can't find long johns for sale anywhere I may stop in the pub and stare at Tina
StanSP Posted 1 December 2010 Posted 1 December 2010 London isn't getting much snow at the moment. East London has had the most, but it's nothing compared to what the north (Sheffield etc) are getting. If the game will be called off it will probably be due to surrounding areas of the stadium being unsafe due to ice/slippery surfaces etc, but even that's at a stretch. They have undersoil heating so the pitch should be fine.

Guest ttfn Posted 1 December 2010 Posted 1 December 2010 I'm working in Hemel Hempstead this week (about 7 or 8 miles from Watford) and it snowed pretty heavily on Monday night. No snow since, but the highest temperature has been -1 for the last couple of days, so I hope they have undersoil heating.
jonah Posted 1 December 2010 Posted 1 December 2010 i drove through watford this morning and it was near enough clear of snow, no problems at all, and as far as i know there not expecting any significant snow falls before sat. so all should be well.

Super_horns Posted 2 December 2010 Posted 2 December 2010 Only a light covering...should be ok so long as the undersoil heating stuff works!
Edmund Posted 2 December 2010 Posted 2 December 2010 3 games in the championship already called off : Doncaster v Barnsley Portsmouth v Burnley Sheffield Utd v Reading
Haydos Posted 2 December 2010 Posted 2 December 2010 Blades and doncaster games were always gonna be called off. Snow's fooking ridiculous in sheffield, pushing 2 feet, no joke. Hoping ours goes ahead, looking forward to each game more and more
Matt Posted 2 December 2010 Posted 2 December 2010 It's the trains i'm worried about, They'll take any opportunity to cancel a service or delay them big time.
Mee Posted 2 December 2010 Posted 2 December 2010 HORNETS VERY CONFIDENT ABOUT SATURDAY Thu 02 Dec 2010 THE Hornets are keen to confirm that there are no immediate concerns about Saturday's game against Leicester City at Vicarage Road. There is a light covering of snow on the pitch, however it is frost-free thanks to the careful use throughout the week of the stadium's undersoil heating. "The forecast suggests we've already had any snowfall of significance," indicated the club's Head of Operations Glyn Evans this (Thursday) morning. "Right now, the area around the ground and town itself hasn't suffered with significant snowfall so we're very, very confident."
