okie fox Posted 15 January 2011 Posted 15 January 2011 To join to us I'd imagine. Only us and Leeds in for him. Wolves are in for him too.
davieG Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 Skysports.com understands that Championship duo Leicester City and Leeds United are leading the chase for Manchester City midfielder Michael Johnson. Johnson has endured two injury-hit seasons at Eastlands but is now ready for action and City want to loan him out in order to bolster match fitness. Leicester are keen to bolster their midfield options and see Johnson as the ideal addition while Leeds boss Simon Grayson is aware he may need to strengthen if Bradley Johnson leaves. City boss Roberto Mancini has voiced his opinion on Johnson's situation and the Italian tactician has confirmed the club are keen for him to get first-team football under his belt. When asked if any City players could leave the club before the transfer window closes, he replied: "Maybe Michael Johnson because I think that he needs to play. "It is important for him, so if we have a chance, Michael Johnson (will go)."
Haydos Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 Would be a great addition to the squad. Just what we need for that extra bit of quality in the midfield department imo.
Babylon Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 Surely Bobby will do us a favour!! Johnson supports Leeds though and it quoted as wanting to go there a while back. Suppose if we offer more wages though he'll be ours.
artursteppe Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 Conversely, there's the argument about working with Sven again. I admit, I can't remember if Sven was manager when he was playing regularly, but you never know I think Sven gave him his first 'run' in Man City first team.

Hoping the wages will swing it our way! and WACCOE will go into overload if someone who claims to be Leeds turns them down!!
artursteppe Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 Anyway, I want Michael Johnson, Jermaine Jenas, Erick Norales, Ricardo and Michael Owen, then we can all move on.
hackneyfox Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 Anyway, I want Michael Johnson, Jermaine Jenas, Erick Norales, Ricardo and Michael Owen, then we can all move on. What are you talking about? Don't you know that they're all shit and their legs have gone? And they'd upset the balance of the squad that got to the playoffs last season?

Leicester, Leeds or Preston. Preston favourites 'cos a Yorkshire boy wants to stay in Lancashire. One way or another, that doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Since Andy Gray and Richard Keys left, Sky Sports has gone crap, obviously.

They know nothing about football!!

Brainy Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 havent we and leeds been leading the chase for a month now..
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 28 January 2011 Posted 28 January 2011 Not sure about Johnson. Didnt look a bad player but have the injuries ruined him. Could be worth having though as we are short in the midfield area if any of the main threee go and get injured. He must be better than Oakley anyway.
Jake SH Posted 29 January 2011 Posted 29 January 2011 Hmm think Johnson could be a coup if we got him on loan for rest of season, he would bloster our midfield options, strengthen the bench and if we could reignite his past form before injury he could be class in the championship be interesting to see if we land his signature
Simmo86 Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Going to Leeds according to Waccoe. Getting Keith Southern from Blackpool aswell!
ajthefox Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 they've got a man city keeper (Gonzalez or something?) on loan today as well!
Ric Flair Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 Oh dear, I know he's a Leeds fan but what with Sven giving him the only decent run in the first team he's ever had and Mancini giving us a few players, i'm surprised he isn't coming here.
cc_star Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 According to BBC Radio in Manchester, it's a done deal for Leeds
sdb Posted 31 January 2011 Posted 31 January 2011 not too bothered. a risk. we don't need them right now, we need to win basically every game and an overweight boozer in the middle of the park could well backfire.

Well, we have already met Leeds this season. So let them bolster their squad and beat the rest of our rivals. We and Leeds go up this year....
