Corky Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 Swansea today reminded me of them last season- plenty of possession but all in front of us, it just allowed us to get men behind the ball, keep a good shape and stifle them. Fair play to them for sticking to their principles when chasing the game but we weren't outplayed by any stretch.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 Rodgers what's the score? Rodgers Rodgers what's the score? Sounds like Paulo in disguise. What an idiot. Passing the ball from side-to-side across the bank four is not a symptom of domination. It is a symptom of being clueless about what to do with it.
Daggers Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 It's threads like this which convince me that I watch a totally different match to all of you.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 It's threads like this which convince me that I watch a totally different match to all of you. They pass and moved a lot better than us. But what else did they do better?
harpendenfox Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 Swansea were tidy but only scored one goal, which was admittedly a beauty. They had one further chance which Sinclair fluffed although Weale did well to narrow the angle. Other than that they threatened very little given their lofty position of second in the table. And their support was shocking. Just a brief volley of noise after their goal. I think Leicester thoroughly deserved its victory, particularly when you remember that fine save from Vassell's shot following Wellens exquisite through ball. You did not outplay us Brenda, you just lost. Bye now.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 Yes. But I wouldn't say they outplayed us, they would have outplayed us if they turned their possession into clear cut chances and had the ball in our half a lot more, but they didn't, they just pissed about with the ball.
themotivator Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 we werent that great today. swansea verged on being good but didn't quite achieve. we scored 2 shit goals. they scored one really good goal. wouldnt say they outplayed us. i thought they were average. we have lost games where we played a lot better than we did today though.
Bert Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 I can't even remember Weale having a save to make. In fact, I know the only shot on target they had was their goal and the stats confirm that. According to the stats, we had more of the ball than them too. Fuck off Brendan.
SystonFox Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 Just a little curious.....what's with the capitalisation of random words? WhY NoT iTS wHaT aLL tHE KidS are DOING???
Milan Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 They can have the ball all they like they reminded me of us when we were bottom. Possession means nothing, ask jobless Sousa.
Milan Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 They can have the ball all they like they reminded me of us when we were bottom. Possession means nothing, ask jobless Sousa. by that I mean moving the ball well but doing nothing else. Also reminded me about how frustrating it was when we never got set pieces in the box, just doing a short pass with another pass to the side again and again.
superfox1980 Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 Swansea were decent 1st half. We were by far the better team in the 2nd. If they had a decent striker or two they might actually do something in this league. Anyway, thought we throughly deserved the 3 points today so do one Rodgers !!
Kingylcfc Posted 4 January 2011 Posted 4 January 2011 im sorry but i cant say they were the best team if they lose
Fatbloke Posted 4 January 2011 Posted 4 January 2011 Rodgers is an idiot. If he thinks his small town tin-pot club outplayed us then clearly he was looking through the same Swansea tinted spectacles as the linesman and referee. I thought their gamemanship was a disgrace. Falling over at every possible opportunity, diving all over the place, moaning at the referee to give decisions, the list goes on and on. Then there's the biased decision making of the referee. There was an instance where an offside flag was raised against us, the ref waved advantage as Swansea had the ball and as soon as they lost it he waved it back for the freekick. So Rodgers, for all your diving players, biased refereeing decisions in your favour, you and your tin-pot club in 2nd place can be thankful for what you have because you are punching way above your weight.
ajthefox Posted 4 January 2011 Posted 4 January 2011 First half they passed us to death and at one point early on I thought we might get a hiding. But second half we were better at stopping their passing, they played it around a lot on the half way line and they had few clear cut chances. It's what we did in half the games under Sousa but those games did nothing for us and if Rodgers thinks he will get anywhere by simply out passing teams he is sadly mistaken.
Kitchandro Posted 4 January 2011 Posted 4 January 2011 Swansea are a good side but they didn't do enough to win today. Our performance was in no way pretty but in the second half I didn't worry at all about not winning apart from when Sinclair went clean through. First half I thought we were poor but 2nd we were much better. A battling victory, and the 3 points is all that matters in the end.
tomtom Posted 4 January 2011 Posted 4 January 2011 We outplayed Bristol city and lost 2 - 0 , its about winning football matches
ithuriel Posted 4 January 2011 Posted 4 January 2011 They pressured our defence in the first half but conceded two goals whilst scoring one in return, in the second half for a long period we pressured their defence before they started to break up the play by constantly falling over with ease and the ball staying just inside our half with them going no where.
