yorkie1999 Posted 8 January 2011 Posted 8 January 2011 Saw the liverpool fans do this once, and when we turned back round, they'd nicked all the seats
MikeyT Posted 8 January 2011 Posted 8 January 2011 Great idea, and i would hope and expect our fans to respect and appreciate this as i'm sure they will.
1964FOX Posted 8 January 2011 Posted 8 January 2011 Good luck I'm sure it will look great and you are doing it for a good reason.
SystonFox Posted 8 January 2011 Posted 8 January 2011 Awesome gesture. Thoughts are with Neil young hope he makes a speedy recovery.
Bert Posted 8 January 2011 Posted 8 January 2011 Hope it all goes off smoothly, also hoping that it won't end up being a jizz fest on here afterwards.
samjohnson Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Cant see any reason why we cant join in with this! Fantastic idea by the City fans... Best of luck to ya!
Finnegan Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Very fair point, but short of emailing Radio Leicester, what else can he do? As for the obscenties bit, its usual for any away fans to have the mick taking out of them regardless of what they do. Take Cardiff with their head tapping thing as an example Exactly. "Regardless of what they do." I'm sure some people will mouth off, some people will be completely confused, some people won't give a shit and a few people who've heard why it's happening will go "oh okay." Whether or not a bunch of mouth breathers take the piss should have no real impact on the situation at all. It'll mean what it means to Man City fans regardless. I'd spend less time "warning" the opposition and more time making sure the Man City fans know about it. Because having half the away end looking on equally confused would be far more embarrassing. Hope it all goes off smoothly, also hoping that it won't end up being a jizz fest on here afterwards. Aye.
Brown Fox Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Surely it would be good if you got as many people in the ground to do it not just the man city fans. I know that's more or less impossible and it won't happen but hey it's an idea
Guest Bilo Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Not even the MC fans could handle 'the Poznan' to start with......
Matt Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Hope it all goes off smoothly, also hoping that it won't end up being a jizz fest on here afterwards. Was gonna post something like that myself, but couldn't be arsed with the consequences of any arguments starting. Good luck.
Zingari Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 just when i think i'm getting over wembley '69 , someone comes along and reminds me about that dreadful day !!
Guest Bilo Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 "Handle the Poznan?" Oh dear, Bilo. Bloody Poles, coming over here with their Poznan.
purpleronnie Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Hi guys, A man city fan here asking for your patience tomorrow. You may know that a former City player, Neil Young, is suffering from cancer. He scored in the FA Cup final between our teams. As City were wearing Red and Black on the day, we have been given red and black scarves to celebrate him. As part of this, I am arranging City fans to do what we call the Poznan on the 24th minute, when he scored that day. We shall turn around and bounce up and down with our scarves. It will look like a sea of red and black and we are hping he will be watching and see it and it aids his battle. Therefore, may I ask that you do not sing obscenities at us when we do it, as i'm sure you will understand the reasoning behind it. Many thanks in advance. Great idea. I hope all goes well for Neil.
tomtom Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Cracking gesture but some muppets can't even understand a minutes silence so they'll probably abuse that too
Bert Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Was gonna post something like that myself, but couldn't be arsed with the consequences of any arguments starting. Good luck. Ha, it won't bother me mate. Finners, surely you know only ultras can do "the Poznan".
Permafrost Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 The main concern here is whether the stand in that area will cope with 5k people bouncing up and down together. It won't have been tested to this degree before.
sbfox Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Problems I see with this: a) around half your fans won't have a clue what you're doing anyway b) the corner of the East Stand already wobbles when we've just got L and K jumping up and down, fook knows what 5000 people would do bouncing at the same time c) and most importantly, you're gonna give some of our fans massive hard ons, then leading them back here to moan at the lack of 'ultra style, European support'. This is ultimately very annoying.

Who do you think cares exactly?
sbfox Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Only a foxestalk fan could take an attempt at a kind, respectful and thoughtful gesture and turn it into a fooking inquisition. "Problems I see with this"? Who do you think cares exactly? I don't think anyone particularly cares, but then isn't this a public forum... you know, where we can put down ideas, thoughts, whatever? I really don't care if you don't agree. FWIW, I don't think 'doing the Poznan', whatever the **** that is, is particularly 'thoughtful, kind or respectful' when remembering a former player. More appropriate would be twirling of scarves or something, much more 'English', of his period and something that Young would have seen in his day. Not some fooking jumping up and down in an effort to be 'ultra-esque cool'.
