cc_star Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Terrible defending for that corner, atrocious that we didn't have 2 on 2
shen Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 That's a slightly harsh scoreline ... We're still in it, lets give it a right go second half. King needs to up his game though, very little positive has come from him so far
Onions Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Howard & Waghorn on for Gallagher and Abe for me. Howard with the power in the air, and Waggy with the 'pace'
FrankieADZ Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 well I'm not surprised we've gone behind tbf, Still we've got nothing to be ashamed about we've more than matched Man City....expect for the score of course
Guest shearfox Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 A bit annoyed we are behind I feel we should be at least level if not winning this game.
Guest Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Nice game; Found our set piece scorer Need to attack fast and leavea man up now. If we can stay with them I can see Big Stevie coming on and scoring the winner in injury time.
cc_star Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 King is ineffective, I'd get Howard on, they're looking bad in the air, plus it will help us retain possession, meaning they's have less opportunities to score
jonw88 Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Weale should have done better for Tevez's goal, to allow him to backheel it around him wasn't great but defending should have been better too.
z-layrex Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Howard & Waghorn on for Gallagher and Abe for me. Howard with the power in the air, and Waggy with the 'pace' What? Both are having a brilliant game...
Ilkeston_Fox Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Howard & Waghorn on for Gallagher and Abe for me. Howard with the power in the air, and Waggy with the 'pace' I'd def be keeping Abe on, He's having a great game so far
ScouseFox Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 I'd leave it as it is for a bit, we've created chances, we can still create chances, unless Mancini goes massively defensive to stick with a 2-1 result.
donkoshino Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Right 2-1 down @ halftime, time for Abe to score! Bamba the next Matt Elliott~ Come on Leicester!
Jackirius Posted 9 January 2011 Author Posted 9 January 2011 Howard & Waghorn on for Gallagher and Abe for me. Howard with the power in the air, and Waggy with the 'pace' What are you watching?
B52 Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Great game so far.. Just the Tevez-incident I don't like........ Bamba is the surprise I hoped for and I hope Abe go for a goal in second.
Bryn Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Walkers Stadium briefly trended on Twitter just then. Think we're being outplayed personally, unsurprisingly. They're getting far too much joy over on our left, Berner's not quick enough and some of the marking is a bit clueless. Wouldn't know what to change though, given that we don't have any other options for the left, so I'd stay as we are. Possibly Howard on, but that's hardly gonna scare the organised (set pieces aside) Man City defence.
Aeropars Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 OUr ability to keep posession and hold the ball up is playing into the hands of Man City. Going on chances, we should be in front however if you look at Johnsons miss I think I'm happy with 2 -1. I expect an onslaught from Man City in the second half though. THe difference in class is evident.
Onions Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 What are you watching? To everyone else who commented too, when/where did I say they were not playing well? Howard would dominate in the air, and abe is a CDM at the moment, so we need to push up more if we want the goal, gotta take the risk. Stop jumping to conclusions that because I suggest subs the players must be playing badly
AmyLGK Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Well considering who we're playing and the mental pace of the game I think we're doing incredibly! COME ON CITY! :scarf:
ScouseFox Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Yes, Berner and Gallagher is never going to keep out Johnson, Milner and Boateng.
Molson Canadian Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Good game so far! too bad we are loosing but that's okay its only the FA cup and we all know the main focus is the league. This is great experience for the squad though, we are playing well and matching manchester city for the most parts, obviously there are touches of class from man city which is expected. Biggest standout so far is bamba and his aerial threat, i think if he can play a simple direct defensive style for us he will be great for us this season, really like the look of him, big, tall and strong looks like he can move the ball around a bit too just hope he keeps it simple. anyone else think that Yuki Abe was a fault for both goals? Milner got away from him on the first goal and on the corner it seems like he didn't pick up anyone to mark and was in contention to block out tevez.
cc_star Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Great header for our goal from Berner, we've missed that with Cunningham at LB... shame Berner has no pace defending
nuttytimmy Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Love the way Sven looked at Faz when we scored and, with a knowing look, said one word: "Bamba."
Vacamion Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 I thought it was an good half of football. City unlucky to be 2-1 down. Bring on the second half, try to get some corners !
cc_star Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 anyone else think that Yuki Abe was a fault for both goals? Milner got away from him on the first goal and on the corner it seems like he didn't pick up anyone to mark and was in contention to block out tevez. the ball shouldn't have to Tevez, it was awful defending leaving 1 on 2 for the short corner... schoolboy defending
Babylon Posted 9 January 2011 Posted 9 January 2011 Happy except for the defending at the corner, school boy stuff. Bamba has sorted our corner problem ha.
