Raise Awareness, One Off Kit?

Recommended Posts

Posted

As teams across England have had a one off kit for breast cancer and the kit being pink, I thought about Leicester doing this for a chairty.

As an Asthma sufferer I thought about Asthma UK charity, the colours are purple and green. So Leicester would wear a one off kit in the colours of purple and green to raise awareness and a certain percentage of kit sales would go to the charity.

Does anybody have any ideas for other charities, The british heart foundation? Red Kit.

If this gets any responses I will emailing the club about the possibility of this happening.

Ashley.

i think if youre going to suggest this then it needs to be a charity that is the most 'universal' in appeal (if you see what i mean), so choosing a cancer charity is probably going to get more support- maybe even going for a local theme so that the owners can show they are keen to invest in the local community?

Agreed...

Why not do something for Rainbows Childrens Hospice...?

Each player has a different logo on there shirt (one that has meaning to them) and people who have been helped by the charity can buy the shirt after or the player can donate it to the charity.

Anything to do with kids is brilliant, after all children rely on adults to help them as that is how nature is

for humans and apes maybe.

You throw a newly hatched croc into the bush and it will (usually) successful fend for itself, once a baby shark has been born it has to fend for itself, if it goes anywhere near the mother she'll eat it - from what i understand the family style groupings with adults caring for the child(ren) is almost exclusively a primate thing.

Sorry, I'm not David Attenborough! Just generalising!

You want a charity to support, look for your local homeless one, there's gonna be a truckload of homeless people on the streets during this ConDem government, and the next steps are drugs and crime. Shelter would be my shout. Would be an excuse to wear a red kit too :P

The con/dem government are just trying to rectify the shit they have inherited from the tw*ts who were in control for the last 12 years. Although I wish the dems weren't involved.

Prostate cancer the biggest man killer and getting minimal research funds, not sure if there's a colour related to it.

I'm not sure if this has caught on worldwide, but in the U.S., prostate cancer awareness is symbolized by a light blue ribbon.

Of course there would be a few fans whose heads would explode after thinking we'd look like Coventry in that color.

If pink (female colour) is for Breast Cancer research, then i presume the shirt for awareness of prostrate cancer should be blue (male colour)?

Great Idea, I think it'd be a great idea to do this.

The club would be more likely to opt for a charity which is regional. E.g Loros, Rainbows.

As Loros was supported by the club last season, I think Rainbows would be the best idea to put forward to the club.

Good luck with it mate.

IF we're not going to support http://www.uklgig.org.uk/ then I'm off.

You should go and support Brighton then.

Yeah Rainbows is a very good idea i agree, put it forward to the club as a suggestion - plenty of supporters would agree with that choice i think :scarf:
