eaststandtom Posted 14 May 2011 Posted 14 May 2011 considering he has made 10ish performances, his first in his career, i think he looks a quality player. i would welcome him back next season. for the season though
teblin Posted 14 May 2011 Posted 14 May 2011 He showed what a good player he was when he played in midfield not just because of his goals, but he was the best player on the pitch. Great touch, good on the ball, mobile and good passing.
Guest NGoloMode Posted 14 May 2011 Posted 14 May 2011 I'd like him back if Sven promised to never play him in defence and only in midfield.
sdb Posted 14 May 2011 Posted 14 May 2011 I'll get slaughtered for this but I reckon Hobbs would be a better option for us next season. Knows the club, knows the league, head screwed on (more so than JB), and a LCFC player after all. I get the impression JB thinks he's too good for us, which isn't helpful, or particularly accurate.

I'd have Hobbs in CB over Bruma every day of the week.
lcfcsnow Posted 14 May 2011 Posted 14 May 2011 Leicester fans, Hobbs confidence is shot as he can't play a passing game, he won't go half as far as Bruma in the game for that reason alone. Both are good players but in different systems and I much prefer the way we play now than under Pearson, Bruma looked much better with a decent partner at the back instead of bombscare bamba. I'd welcome him back, and would like to see him in the defensive midfield position again after that performance against Watford.

ajthefox Posted 14 May 2011 Posted 14 May 2011 I'd rather Hobbs over Bruma but I'd welcome either, they are both good enough at this level, no matter what people say about Hobbs' passing.
lcfcsnow Posted 14 May 2011 Posted 14 May 2011 i don't want passing centre backs i want centre backs that keep clean sheets We had those when we got relegated to League 1.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 14 May 2011 Posted 14 May 2011 Bruma over Hobbs, most certainly. Hobbs is too indecisive, and can't read the game all that well. As long as Bruma was not in defence, I would be delighted to have him back.
sdb Posted 14 May 2011 Posted 14 May 2011 We had those when we got relegated to League 1. we had them when we got to the play offs last season
lcfcsnow Posted 14 May 2011 Posted 14 May 2011 we had them when we got to the play offs last season Well that was more tactics and carrying on the promotion winning form from League 1, similar to Norwich this season. We tried to play a more expansive game this season and it didn't work until Sven acquired better players.

Corky Posted 14 May 2011 Posted 14 May 2011 Bruma's a good player, sometimes players don't fit into a club perfectly but are still good footballers.
Dan Posted 14 May 2011 Posted 14 May 2011 Bruma's a good player, sometimes players don't fit into a club perfectly but are still good footballers. Have to agree, and it's the managers job to make him fit in. I'd possibly take Bruma back but to play in midfield.
shen Posted 14 May 2011 Posted 14 May 2011 oh yeah that old saying, confidence is permanent i don't want passing centre backs i want centre backs that keep clean sheets It's not every day we get a manager that wants us to play football on the deck and I understand that it still seems alien to some of our fans. But give the manager and the team a chance here. Considering the inexperience and the many changes made to the team we've done well and next season will only be better. With passing defenders we're actually able to dominate most teams in this division. Thinking of defenders as not being a part of the attacking part of the game is quite old-fashioned by now...
21st Century Fox Posted 14 May 2011 Posted 14 May 2011 No offence to Hobbs because he's a good player and he's been good for the club but Bruma doesn't need his hand holding throughout a match and he's going to improve considerably more.

Thinking of defenders as not being a part of the attacking part of the game is quite old-fashioned by now... it's not old fashioned to have a solid back 4 that concede nothing easily. In fact it's very much the way footy is going - too defensive if anything. Some fancy dan comes in for us, plays shit, results suffer massively, but he's better than Hobbs cause he's better technically with a football. Sorry, not enough.
Corky Posted 14 May 2011 Posted 14 May 2011 We've had 13 different defensive partnerships this season. It's not Bruma's fault alone.

I agree with the sentiment of your post but thats very unfair on Bruma. As Corky stated we've had 13 different Centre back pairings, thats why we've conceeded so many, not because Bruma is shit, which in fact I'd argue he isn't at all. As I've said before I'd prefer Hobbs but Bruma is still more than adequate at this level.
