Sly Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 Tweet by Rio Ferdinand Gary Neville has retired from football...the best right back in premier league history #fact. Gonna be a loss to our dressing room #banter !
StanSP Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 I would say it'd be good to see him off our screens. But he's blatantly going to Sky <_<
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 He has been shite for 2 - 3 years now.
FoxyPV Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 He's thrown his toys out of the pram after not being offered an extension to his contract and he won't play for anyone else.
Guest ttfn Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 Whether you like it or not, the guy's a legend. The best right back in English football in the last 20 years. Nobody else even comes close.
sdb Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 2 years too late. He's bloody awful now. Been a great player tho, fair play.
Jimothy Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 Best right back in England of the last 20 or so years. Shame he's such a ****.
Bert Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 He has been shite for 2 - 3 years now. Not shite. Just past it. Whether you like it or not, the guy's a legend. The best right back in English football in the last 20 years. Nobody else even comes close. Correct.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 Don't like the bloke but i've got a lot of respect for him being a one club player
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 Can't help but respect what he's acheived in his career. You can't be a mainstay at a team like United for that period without having something about you.
Kent Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 Best right back in England of the last 20 or so years. Shame he's such a ****. This.
Jon the Hat Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 At least he has a bit of character. We spend half the time complaining players are all dull as shite. Neville managed to be a professional , hugely successful, influential and loyal player without compromising his personality. Good on him.
surrifox Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 barrack room lawyer/trade union wannabe (apparently) . Fine if you're a put-upon wage slave or oppressed public service worker but a little hollow if you're a poncey overpaid pro footballer
shen Posted 3 February 2011 Posted 3 February 2011 Can't help but respect what he's acheived in his career. You can't be a mainstay at a team like United for that period without having something about you. Sums him up well. Difficult to pinpoint what his qualities are, especially when he's seemed little more than an average defender (and in recent years well past it) in a squad winning championships. I think that despite him being with Man Utd ages, having won an astonishing amount of caps for England and getting several medals, he's never been more than a dirty and mediocre defender

I haven't heard on here or when I'm down the pub/SU bar about players being dull. If anything, they're always in the news for getting in trouble or slagging players/teams off - Warnock, Diouf, Bellamy, Bothroyd, Savage etc etc.
