davieG Posted 3 March 2011 Posted 3 March 2011 All very sad really, I remember the time when in spite of the fierce rivalry / hatred most post match chat was about the great football they both played and some of the excellent Scottish footballers they had playing for them.
Fosse Boy Posted 3 March 2011 Posted 3 March 2011 I think Celtic scum are the team I hate most in the world. They really are scum! Seeing Rangers fans with the Union Jack is a great site not pissing Ireland!!!! I agree. Let's ban all non-British flags from football grounds.

Dickie Greenleaf Posted 3 March 2011 Posted 3 March 2011 Seeing Rangers fans with the Union Jack is a great site not pissing Ireland!!!! Mmm, I dont know. Cliffs of Moher, Blarney Castle, The giant's Causeway; Ireland's got some decent sites too
StanSP Posted 3 March 2011 Posted 3 March 2011 Maybe that Toby guy was still reeling from the beating Ireland gave England in the cricket and was sick of seeing Irish flags
Finnegan Posted 3 March 2011 Posted 3 March 2011 Pretty sure we've booed the English national anthem plenty of times (though, to clarify, I can't say I ever have personally). You might not like us but I don't think you're running around calling all Welsh fans scum of the Earth. There's not really a "good" side to the Old Firm, though. I'd probably rather see Celtic win but that's because I hate Rangers for reasons that aren't sectarian. Away from their ridiculous "religious" pseudo-politics, at least the Celtic fans aren't plagued by far-right knuckle-draggers giving fascist salutes. I fucking hate Rangers and I fucking hate the culture of wanking them off amongst English fans just because they're seen as some perfect "British" club, ****ing embarrassing.
MPH Posted 3 March 2011 Posted 3 March 2011 Ref had a great game. I actually felt he kept his cool... which might sound bizarre considering the amount of cards shown... i would love to know what was said with Lennon and mcoist.Lennon was going to rip his head off. Lennon went in hands first to shake McCoist hand so he must have said something pretty bad, might have been about Lennon being a northen Irish Cathlic or something. El Hadji Diouf must be the most hated man in football. You don't understand what a local derby is untill you see that game. Couldn't believe it. McCoist said to him " why don't you leave my players alone?" Probably in reference to his aggressiveness earlier in the game...
Guest Bilo Posted 3 March 2011 Posted 3 March 2011 The thing with Rangers and Celtic is that they both undoubtedly have huge swathes of absolute idiots following them. It's obviously a minority, but it's a far larger minority of idiots than any English club can 'boast.' Rangers have god knows how many far-right Sieg Heiling tossers in their support who think nothing of poking fun at the Irish Famine, dredging up the Battle of the Boyne and attacking the entire Catholic faith not because they have deep, philosophical objections to the corruption of the entity but because they want to have a good old sectarian pop at the 'Septic' fans. Not to mention a bit of good old-fashioned posthumous slander against one of the greatest managers Scotland has ever produced. Anyone who knows anything about the Old Firm will know exactly what I mean. Similarly, Celtic have fans who disassociate themselves from anything British in spite of many of their fans at Parkhead on a matchday being as British as those they call Huns, celebrate the IRA's campaign against Britain including shamefully in Manchester and make sick Ibrox Disaster related jokes about Orange Squash. They haven't always been above a spot of racism themselves either, just look at the reception Mark Walters got at Parkhead on his Old Firm debut for Rangers in the 80s. The thing with the rivalry is that it's so intense and on so many more levels than any other football rivalry in Britain that it will inevitably attract wankers on both sides who haven't the intelligence to even begin to understand the subtleties of the related issues. You can't expect the average 15 year old Ranger or Celtic fan to understand the intricacies of the Northern Irish Troubles and the fact that this divide can be traced back to, at the very least, Oliver Cromwell's massacre at Drogheda any more than you can expect a teenage Millwall fan to understand that Leicester's excellent community relations and relative lack of intra-community strife makes the singing of 'Leicester Taliban' a little bit daft.

Mack Posted 3 March 2011 Posted 3 March 2011 Celtic fans are utter utter utter utter scum... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KwSJCAfaBE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjdE0b5Jhpk
davieG Posted 3 March 2011 Posted 3 March 2011 Did they have the internet in the 70's? If that was aimed at me then no there was no mobile text facility either but they did have pubs and I had friends who I met in those pubs even then and other friends I talked to at work all face to face.

I can only assume the lad with the raspy voice in the second video is on a day trip with his carer. There again, are Rangers much better?
Fosse Boy Posted 3 March 2011 Posted 3 March 2011 *Waits for someone to state how wonderfully "banterful" that Nakamura shite is*
Fox You Forest Posted 3 March 2011 Posted 3 March 2011 There again, are Rangers much better? Judging by that top picture then no, I mean who the fuck makes a Matt Oakley flag.
Mack Posted 3 March 2011 Posted 3 March 2011 I agree, Rangers fans are also toe rags. No wonder the 10 or so derbies they have a season descend into farce.
Finchy Posted 3 March 2011 Posted 3 March 2011 Both as bad as eachother. Scum, sub-human scum. I'm English and not religious, so I stay out of it, but I do like watching them knock seven bells of shit out of eachother in matches like that.
purpleronnie Posted 3 March 2011 Posted 3 March 2011 If that was aimed at me then no there was no mobile text facility either but they did have pubs and I had friends who I met in those pubs even then and other friends I talked to at work all face to face. Meeting people in pubs, talking to friends face to face. I don't understand. p.s. In all seriousness were the OF matches televised back then?
Fox92 Posted 3 March 2011 Posted 3 March 2011 Yeah, it must have I didn't say IT WAS THAT. I was using an example. "IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN" where as on the other hand, it might not have been, and probably wasn't. Read it before being sarcastic.
Narborough_fox Posted 3 March 2011 Posted 3 March 2011 My cousin was at the game last night, must of been brilliant. Being a Rangers "fan" it's wasn't good to see the result but what after madness, loved it. Need to get myself down to an Old Firm sooner rather than later. Oh and I can't stand Neil Lennon or Scott Brown. Twats.
Jackirius Posted 3 March 2011 Posted 3 March 2011 Both sets of fans are a disgrace. Well the majority which act in that way, there are some 'normal' straight thinking people which attend their matches, some of the things they do are quite unbelievable.
lcfc"weasel" Posted 3 March 2011 Posted 3 March 2011 I fucking hate Rangers and I fucking hate the culture of wanking them off amongst English fans just because they're seen as some perfect "British" club, ****ing embarrassing. This, can't stand English people who think they 'must' support the lads from the bigot dome because they are British and don't mind singing "keep st. George in my heart" and "God save the queen." Really does my nut in. The thing with Rangers and Celtic is that they both undoubtedly have huge swathes of absolute idiots following them. Doesn't happen all that often to be fair.

Guest Bilo Posted 3 March 2011 Posted 3 March 2011 Doesn't happen all that often to be fair. I'm sure it doesn't happen all that often mate but neither do songs about Hillsborough from Man United and songs about Munich from Liverpool. Still makes those who think it's funny wankers.
