The Doctor Posted 11 February 2011 Posted 11 February 2011 can't remember much of the 90's but i reckon most of it was probably shit, city visiting Wembley on a regular basis aside.
FoxyPV Posted 11 February 2011 Posted 11 February 2011 Anyone remember these jackets? Always wanted one but could never afford it. <_<
Manwell Pablo Posted 11 February 2011 Posted 11 February 2011 Loads of people my age rave on about the eighties. I was born in 86, I don't even fucking remember it! I had a home made Tracy Island. Oh and Sensible Soccer is a brilliant shout! What a game! I remember a friend of mine's dad was an IT technician, he had like four PCs in his living room. We went round once and had a Sensible Soccer tournament for his birthday. Fantastic. I was born in 84 and the only thing I remember about the 80's is a trip to spain and being forced to dress like an idiot by my parents for a couple of years. 90's was good, Liver was still fully functional and my lungs weren't full of tar and I spent most of it thinking girls were weird. Happier days.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 11 February 2011 Posted 11 February 2011 Escort RS Cosworth > Golf GTI. (I had an Escort poster and a Golf pencil case. Oh, and one of these...) Ford RS200 > Escort RS Cosworth > Golf GTI. The more I think about it, the 80s had some really cool cars!
Alexikokopops Posted 11 February 2011 Posted 11 February 2011 I wish I was old enough to go raving in the early 90s
Finnegan Posted 11 February 2011 Author Posted 11 February 2011 Trav I love how you have to post a picture of the back of it because it's so fucking ugly otherwise. What a terrible call. 80s cars are amongst the worst in history.
Alexikokopops Posted 11 February 2011 Posted 11 February 2011 Also, has anyone mentioned Twin Peaks yet? Bloody brilliant
BoneDog Posted 11 February 2011 Posted 11 February 2011 I guess most people went online some time in the 90's. Kinda changed the world. Pretty big plus for the 1990's. I went online for 6 months in 2005 and then permanently in late 2008. I didn't even know t'internet was around in the 90's!
Raj Posted 11 February 2011 Posted 11 February 2011 I was in my 20's ion the 90's. Now im gonna be in my 40's in the 10's if that makes sense.....
BoneDog Posted 11 February 2011 Posted 11 February 2011 I wish I was old enough to go raving in the early 90s I started in '93 I think but I just missed out on the best years which were '90-'92 from what I've heard. '93-'95 were still excellent though - Jay Jay's/Mr B's, DieHard and Venue 44 were clubs of greatness. Hardcore FM, which I think was from Leicester is still my favourite radio station ever ('91 and '92) and they used to tell some stories about Raindance, Shelley's and The Eclipse and all that. Sounded amazing. Still got a few good tapes from them, might put them on Youtube soon.

Trav Le Bleu Posted 11 February 2011 Posted 11 February 2011 The 80s was the era of the hot hatch - by the 90s hot hatchs were weighed down by "safety features" Renault 5 Gordini Turbo 205 GTi 6r4 If I could only ever have ONE car it would be the Lancia Delta Integrale Or maybe one of these... Britain still made cars back then. (Incidentally all the best cars were made in the 60s - I'm just trying to balance things out a bit... I think the 80s were a bit naff )
Finnegan Posted 11 February 2011 Author Posted 11 February 2011 I'll give you the Delta, from a sporting point of view. But otherwise? Horrendous. The 90s had better rally cars anyway, the 96 Impreza! And the Toyota Celica! PLUS.... ... TOURING CARS! Alain Menu Rickard Rydell. Will Hoy Gabriele Tarquini!!! Oh, proper motorsport, how I miss you.

Oh, proper motorsport, how I miss you. Remember all the above from toca touring cars ^ on psx!
ajthefox Posted 12 February 2011 Posted 12 February 2011 Ford RS200 > Escort RS Cosworth > Golf GTI. The more I think about it, the 80s had some really cool cars! Two of the first matchbox cars I had as a (90's) kid was two RS200s prefer the Escort RS Cosworth though
potter3 Posted 12 February 2011 Posted 12 February 2011 That photo was taken back in 2007. All I remember was the place being massively busy, but even this (above) has been taken down now. Been looking round and it seems like it's been a hot spot for people that like looking round / get curious by this sort of thing, found some photos taken from summer 2009 on the internet, there's nothing left apart from the old pier type thing. It'd freak me out if I went there just after it closed I think, looks such an eerie place. That's where the Missile used to be. The rapids. These are a couple of years old now, God knows what's still there. Doesn't look right Remeber the 3D theatre as well, I watched the Denmark game at the 2002 world cup there
BoneDog Posted 12 February 2011 Posted 12 February 2011 Rico has just proved that the 90's was the decade for teenage girls and the 80's were better. (apart from the ravin part of the 90's - which even the grebs got involved with, they knew what time it was)
Walkers Wench Posted 12 February 2011 Posted 12 February 2011 I was in my 20's ion the 90's. Now im gonna be in my 40's in the 10's if that makes sense..... You and me both,,,it's no so bad!

Trav Le Bleu Posted 12 February 2011 Posted 12 February 2011 Oh, proper motorsport, how I miss you. In the 80's we had rally-cross - haven't seen that on TV for ages. Figure of 8 tracks, part dirt, part gravel, part tarmac, the likes of RS200s, Escort Mexicos Audi Quattros and 6r4s bombing round crazily... my favourite kind of motorsport. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bc5EHxhj7mc&feature=related And not a 80s or 90s car, but just drop dead gorgeous rally car...
Finnegan Posted 12 February 2011 Author Posted 12 February 2011 Rallycross in it's prime was all Group B stuff though wasn't it? Sort of takes the shine off a little having specially made sports cars, like the RS200 and the 959.
