This artical sugests that he will be at the game to look at his loan signings

BRISTOL City defender Steven Caulker is up for the job of keeping Leicester dangerman Yakubu quiet.

Charged with the task of shackling the Nigerian striker at the Walkers Stadium tomorrow night, the teenager is eager to impress the watching Tottenham scouts.

And what better way to catch the eye of Spurs manager Harry Redknapp than by shutting out arguably the best forward operating in the npower Championship?

Undaunted by the prospect of coming up against Sven-Goran Eriksson's in-form Foxes, City's loan signing declared: "I'm really looking forward to the challenge.

"I've always said I'm happy to test myself against the best and Yakubu is a real class act. It's not something I'm going to shy away from or be frightened of. In fact, I look upon it as a great chance to show people what I can do."

On loan from Everton, Yakubu has demonstrated his Premier League quality since joining the Foxes in January. He scored on his debut in a 1-1 draw against Preston and added another goal in a 4-2 win over Millwall the following week.

And, if City's defenders are in any doubt as the size of the task that awaits them in the East Midlands, the former World Cup star netted a spectacular left-footed volley in last weekend's 2-0 defeat of Derby.

"I saw his goal on television and it was impressive to say the least," added Caulker. "I've watched Yakubu play in the Premier League many times and his quality is there for all to see.

"If you let him roll you and turn you, then you are in trouble and his physical strength is probably his greatest attribute.

"I think the secret of doing well against him is to keep tight to him and not let him get the ball and settle in the first place. That's what Liam Fontaine and I will be trying to do."

Although Caulker is some way down the White Hart Lane pecking order, he is not one to pass up an opportunity to impress Redknapp.

He said: "Because Kyle Naughton will be playing for Leicester, I'm sure Tottenham will have someone there to watch the game. It would be a very good time for me to have a good game, keep Yakubu quiet and help Bristol City win away from home.

"As a young player still learning the game, you see the season Tottenham are having in the Premier League and the Champions League and it makes you even more determined to make the breakthrough and be involved at the top level.

"I can only do that if I'm playing well on a consistent basis in the Championship and facing Leicester and Yakubu is all part of the learning curve."

Caulker watched on television as his Tottenham colleagues registered a notable 1-0 first leg triumph over Serie A leaders AC Milan in the San Siro Stadium on Tuesday night and fancies the Londoners to go all the way to the Wembley final.

He said: "That's something the whole squad will be involved in if they get to the final and I'm willing them on every step of the way. It would be a great way to end the season and I see no reason why they cannot do it."

Not Harry personally.

I heard it was the £20 pie, pint and ticket offer that swayed it for him

They can keep themselves busy focusing on the Yak, we have goals from all over the place at the moment. Another 4 on frIday will do for me ;-)

Just like his two chances in the first half then

So that's 2 of their defenders tied up with one man, there should be space aplenty for King to sneak in. And hopefully the other two won't be watching for the likes of Bamba to come steaming in to convert a cross.

Great signature! :appl:

:D

Can't take any credit for it, robbed it off a mate's computer, dunno where he got it, but I like it.

because of corluka getting injured, we dont know the deal between villa & spurs for walker. naughton maybe the only alternative. i hope not!

lets just hope hes just there to watch how he is progressing at leicester.

Lets hope Naughton plays crap (but still not lose) and this will make Redknapp to think he's better off selling him (to us) in the Summer. ;)

Presumably he's not going to see Yakubu. He'd hardly meet Harry's needs for a striker to "fackin run about".

bit of a worry that Corlukas out for the season, hope they dont want Naughton back!

corlukas out for a month and i doubt they'll be a call back clause in naughtons loan contract anyway. LETS HOPE NOT!!
