Jackirius Posted 7 March 2011 Posted 7 March 2011 I was reading Chaucer (yes I am that sad) and it reminded me of Reynard the Fox. I've been wondering who you are.
Samu Posted 7 March 2011 Posted 7 March 2011 Canada beat Kenya easily today, reaching the target of 199 with 5 wickets to spare and just under 5 overs to spare. Bad news for England though. Pietersen's out for the rest of the tournament with a hernia injury. Eion Morgan takes his place. I would say good news really. Pietersen, whilst potentially being our best player, is not playing all that well right now. Sure he's scored some runs in the first few games of the tournament but he's not the player we know he can be. What England need right now is someone who can get them out of difficult situations and finish innings' for us. That man is Eoin Morgan. He didn't have a great time in the ODI's against the Aussies but he's saved us on so many occasions over the past couple of years. I'd like to see this team (in batting order): Strauss Bell Trott Collingwood Morgan Bopara Prior Bresnan Swann Broad Anderson Obviously the slight concern with this team is that there is only one spinner. But Yardy is hardly a spinner anyway. I think we could easily get 10 overs from Bopara, Trott and Colly. I think the batting line up looks much stronger like this with Morgan and Bopara as our 'finishers'. If you were to drop Collingwood and play Yardy I think Morgan at 4 would be too high for him.
cambridgefox Posted 8 March 2011 Posted 8 March 2011 New Zealand have hit 77 in the last 3 overs including 30 off Razzaq and 28 off Akhtar! Fantastic
StanSP Posted 8 March 2011 Author Posted 8 March 2011 Quite liking how today's going! New Zealand 302-7 off their 50 overs. Pakistan already 24-4 off 8 overs!
StanSP Posted 8 March 2011 Author Posted 8 March 2011 Stuart Broad out of the tournament too as well now. No replacement as of yet, but Tremlett is most likely.
StanSP Posted 8 March 2011 Author Posted 8 March 2011 Good stuff. Makes the Group A table look tasty. Hoping for a comfortable win against Netherlands tomorrow.
FoxyPV Posted 8 March 2011 Posted 8 March 2011 Great knock from Taylor the victory was made all the more impressive with Vettori being unable to bowl through injury.
StanSP Posted 10 March 2011 Author Posted 10 March 2011 Sri Lanka thrashed Zimbabwe in today's match. Tharanga and Dilshan broke the world record for opening stand, getting 282 between them. Also first time that both openers made centuries. They ended up on 327-6 though. Obviously enough and Zimbabwe couldn't get near it at all. The result also means Sri Lanka are the first team to qualify for the quarter finals.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 10 March 2011 Posted 10 March 2011 Sri Lanka will be a huge threat. Would be very surprised if it wasn't a Sri Lanka v India final. India are the best one day team and i would rank Sri Lanka a close third behind South Africa but on home soil they are a clearly better side than South Africa. Also Raymond Price from the zims such a character wish there were more around like him
Fox You Forest Posted 11 March 2011 Posted 11 March 2011 Struggling with spin again, what's Merlin worth in scrap value?
FoxyPV Posted 11 March 2011 Posted 11 March 2011 Ireland doing well against the Windies. Ed Joyce has just hit 50.
FoxyPV Posted 11 March 2011 Posted 11 March 2011 Windies were just too strong for us. WTF is happening with England? In cruise control then they throw in away?!
purpleronnie Posted 11 March 2011 Posted 11 March 2011 Nice to see we're as tactically aware as ever.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 13 March 2011 Posted 13 March 2011 Kenya not getting close to Aus bat still batting very well, 4-213 off 43 if they batted first well on target fot 260 which you would say is a better than average score for a team of Kenya's percieved ability
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 13 March 2011 Posted 13 March 2011 So hope Obuya makes a ton may run out of balls tho
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 13 March 2011 Posted 13 March 2011 Poor bloke batted well made 98no off 129. Wish he made a ton deserved and shows that it doesn't matter wether your a Kenyian playing Australia or your Ten-deschote playing the poms or O'brien for Ireland playing the Poms if you bat well and value your wicket you can make a big score. Love seeing the little bloke make a few runs or take a few wickets.
