StanSP Posted 17 March 2011 Author Posted 17 March 2011 If there was an award for most entertaining team, think we all know who it would go to!
Jackirius Posted 17 March 2011 Posted 17 March 2011 Just got back from college was unable to watch it, must have been a hell of a game.
purpleronnie Posted 17 March 2011 Posted 17 March 2011 Is it weird I get more excited watching cricket than football thesedays?
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 17 March 2011 Posted 17 March 2011 These tournament goes for way to looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggggggg!!!!!! It should be 2 x groups of 10 Each team plays each team in there group and 2 advance to the semis. All over in 3 weeks job done!
Super_horns Posted 17 March 2011 Posted 17 March 2011 Is it weird I get more excited watching cricket than football thesedays? England are inconsistent but they do make the games exciting!
purpleronnie Posted 17 March 2011 Posted 17 March 2011 England are inconsistent but they do make the games exciting! True but I'd be quite happy for the next one to be a really boring england win.

What a bonkers idea, who on earth would the other 6 teams be??? there's enough boring one sided matches as it is and introducing 6 more lesser teams is absurd. Plus the two teams in the final would play 11 games in 21 days!!! That's a ridiculous schedule, the players would be knackered and you're risking injuries with such a short period for recuperation between matches. Sounds worse than the current format to me.

I meant 2 groups of 5 meaning 10 teams.
marko Posted 17 March 2011 Posted 17 March 2011 I meant 2 groups of 5 meaning 10 teams. Ah I see, sounds like a plan I agree that the ICC could fairly easily get rid of 4 teams, then perhaps have a smaller tournament for the Associate teams with the winner getting a place in the World Cup.
FoxyPV Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 Saffers absolutely spanked Bangladesh so England have scrapped through. Aussies all out for 176. Poor stuff.
savagefox Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 Saffers absolutely spanked Bangladesh so England have scrapped through. Aussies all out for 176. Poor stuff. This wicket is absolutely garbage though, did the groundsman forget to check that the ball should bounce when bowled!
Alexikokopops Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 I meant 2 groups of 5 meaning 10 teams. Isn't that already the plan for the next World Cup? The ICC are basically planning to ditch the Associate Nations. I'm sure I read that. Not really conducive to expanding the game in any way. Having said that, I'm struggling to think of ways to shorten it.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 19 March 2011 Posted 19 March 2011 I'm unsure but I have a feeling they are reducing the length of the tournament. Aussies are playing crap at the moment our middle order batting is shocking and Ponting needs to be dropped and White is struggling as well. Krezja can't bowl at all.
Fox You Forest Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 Ha, the way we've been playing spin means we're in trouble.
accessory Posted 21 March 2011 Posted 21 March 2011 Ha, the way we've been playing spin means we're in trouble. We've been like this pretty much since Warne and Murali started playing..
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 Ponting Finally made some runs I fear the aussies are about 40 runs to short here
StanSP Posted 24 March 2011 Author Posted 24 March 2011 Short? I think they've ended up on a good total thanks to that last powerplay. We were really expensive in our bowling, and given the way some powerplays have gone throughout the tournament, Australia have done pretty well. Hoping Tendulkar and Sehwag can start well.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 Small ground it's a bit slow but we don't really have the spinners to utilize it. Sehwag only needs to get going for 10 overs and you win definite danger man
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 Need a bloody wicket, not going to get them with I only get a game cos I bowl fast Tait....especially when he bowls 10 ball overs
