FoxyPV Posted 29 March 2011 Posted 29 March 2011 NZ all out for 217. It's for the Lankans to lose now.
Wycombe Fox Posted 29 March 2011 Posted 29 March 2011 It's for the Lankans to lose now. At 169 for 4 it's nicely balanced.
Super_horns Posted 29 March 2011 Posted 29 March 2011 The hosts might just scrape home England style..
The Doctor Posted 29 March 2011 Posted 29 March 2011 Sri Lanka won by 5 wickets with 13 balls to spare. Credit to new zealand, don't know that much about cricket but i think NZ are one of the smaller nations, compared to some other resutls for Sri Lanka they haven't been humiliated.
FoxyPV Posted 29 March 2011 Posted 29 March 2011 NZ. Some superb fielding and who knows what may have happened had they not collapsed in the last couple of overs.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 30 March 2011 Posted 30 March 2011 At 169 for 4 it's nicely balanced. I wouldn't of called 49 runs to win and 6 wickets in hand at that point evenly balanced
FoxyPV Posted 30 March 2011 Posted 30 March 2011 India have started really brightly but have been shaken by the last two deliveries. An erratic hawkeye call and an extremely close stumping save Tendulkar. India must have lady luck on their side.
StanSP Posted 30 March 2011 Author Posted 30 March 2011 C'mon India!!! I know millions of others would have seen him as well, but when I went to Bangalore 10 years ago, I felt privileged to see The Little Master bat, even though it was only for a few overs cos of rain . Love the man. One of my idols.
accessory Posted 30 March 2011 Posted 30 March 2011 Tedulkar's been to England a few times. Hope he'll come here again in the summer.
StanSP Posted 30 March 2011 Author Posted 30 March 2011 Tendulkar out on 85, shortly after being dropped for the 4th time in the match
FoxyPV Posted 30 March 2011 Posted 30 March 2011 Tendulkar out on 85, shortly after being dropped for the 4th time in the match I thought he was nailed on for a century after surviving all those early scares. 211-6 and 6 1/2 overs left - mmmm 270ish?
StanSP Posted 30 March 2011 Author Posted 30 March 2011 I thought he was nailed on for a century after surviving all those early scares. 211-6 and 6 1/2 overs left - mmmm 270ish? 270 looks ambitious. I'd say 264 as a gut instinct. Raina and Harbhajan just need to go as ballistic as Sehwag and Sachin did in first few overs. You'd think that Tendulkar with all his experience would have taken heed of all the chances he had! Wasn't the best knock he had by a mile. But to get 85 when you play nervously and poorly is a pretty good effort!
StanSP Posted 30 March 2011 Author Posted 30 March 2011 261 is the target for Pakistan. Tough for the bowlers but I have faith in them, especially Zaheer and Harbhajan. If Riaz can get 5 on this pitch which is favouring spin, then I'd love to see what Zaheer could do. Come on India!
StanSP Posted 30 March 2011 Author Posted 30 March 2011 Get the fuck in, India! WIth 260, I genuinely thought it wouldn't be enough. But surprisingly, it was our batting that was weakest today. Our fielding, especially Raina and Kohli has been sublime. Bowling's been good too. Zaheer Khan chipping in with his 18th wicket of the tournament, and Yuvraj making up for his duck with 2 wickets. The scene is set for Tendulkar to get his 100th century, in his hometown, Mumbai on Saturday
StanSP Posted 30 March 2011 Author Posted 30 March 2011 India have never lost to Pakistan in a World Cup match Job done. Win by 29runs. Fantastic stuff. Looking forward to Saturday now!
Bellend Sebastian Posted 30 March 2011 Posted 30 March 2011 Anyone watch this down the Soar Point? Judging by the number of police cars and vans and boys in blue hanging around outside about half an hour ago I'm guessing it kicked off quite badly. The place looked rammed
Alexikokopops Posted 30 March 2011 Posted 30 March 2011 that sounds more likely - if it were "prisoners of mother england" surely it would be pomes rather than poms. If I recall correctly, all the acronyms are made up after the word was first used (much like Port Out Starboard Home for the word Posh). I've done some incredibly lazy research I've found an alternative http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alternative_names_for_the_British
