Funny enough I was born in Leeds...........But I hate them.

You dislike everything, you're very fair that way.

I believe this is the first post you have wrote which hasn't ended in 'Muhahaaahaha' or ':P ;O O.o' or something similar.

I visited Elland Road a few weeks back to watch Leeds v Arsenal in the FA Cup (My friend had a spare ticket before anyone asks) and was surprised to see Gradel playing up front alongside Billy Paynter which explains to me why he's scoring as many goals as he is this season as they rarely play him as a winger and use his pace as an outlet to unlock defences. In fairness to the lad although he's a decent player at this level he'll never cut it in the premier league. Against the Arsenal (I appreciate the fact that it was Arsenal and not a Bolton or Blackpool) but he looked like a lost soul, running around like a schoolboy footballer amongst a field of professionals. When one on one against anyone of Arsenals back four he lost out every time and had absolutely no clue how to beat his man. As I said he is a good player at this level and Leeds certainly got themselves a bargain when they signed him, but I'd be surprised if he is able to step up and consistently perform to the same standard in the Prem.

Not sure why you're so certain Gradel won't make it in the Premiership cos it surely isn't based on a one outing against Arsenal is it?

I rmember Leicester fans saying he'd never make it in The Championship because his crossing was inconsistent. And that he couldn't defend or beat his man.

Well, they were wrong.

The fact is that Gradel is a natural goalscorer/goalmaker and has to be marked. He's the sort of player who thinks positively and tries to make things happen. Players like him will always make mistakes but they will always be involved in the moves that lead to goals.

There's no reason Gradel shouldn't adjust to coping with the Premiership any more than the likes of Tom Cleverly.

The important thing is for his manager to show some faith in him, his coaches to keep improving him and for the boy himself to keep learning.

If anything he might find it easier in the Premiership where the focus is on precision passing and where he'll have quality players around him.

To me the Premiership will be the natural stage for Gradel because the game is desperate for naturally entertaining players, people who cause a sir of expectation. He had it here clearly enough. We just didn't show the faith needed to develop it.

Anyone know if we have a sell-on clause for this lad? Speculation is that a few teams are after him.

We're LCFC we pay silly fees and let others install sell on clauses... we never actually get good fees or install them ourselves.

Think we should put in a bid form him. He's improved massively looked to have matured, would definitely fit into Sven's style ofplay and would be amazed if he wasn't interested in signing for us. And plus it would be funny to see all the Leeds fans telling us how average he is like they did with Schmiechel!

Pretty certain we did install a sell-on clause when we sold him. Pearson hinted as much when he said that Gradel had the potential and didn't want to sell him but as he asked to leave that a sell-on clause would be demanded from any buyer.
