Oakywhite Posted 23 February 2011 Posted 23 February 2011 Whatever happens this season would just like to say what a fantastic season this kid is having and from what i have seen was very surprised you let him go, sometimes lets himself down with his final ball but his work rate is superb and his second goal against Barnsley last night was class. Good luck for the rest of the season.

deep blue Posted 23 February 2011 Posted 23 February 2011 I think it was a personal thing with Pearson, Pearson had never liked him and he supposedly had attitiude problems. It's a shame he was forced out here, just too early. I think he would have fitted in great into Sven's style and formation, taking the role that Vassell has.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 23 February 2011 Posted 23 February 2011 That cocky midget remember who claimed to be 5 11!
nickelbyfox Posted 23 February 2011 Posted 23 February 2011 He would have fitted in and done well here now with Sven, remember he also had various family problems when he was here, which probably did not endeavor him to the management then! Have to say glad to see he is doing well, as long as it isn't against us in the playoffs
Langston Posted 23 February 2011 Posted 23 February 2011 Pearson had his favourites. The thought that we actually used Oakley one the right instead of this kid sends shivers down my spine at night, whilst I cry myself to sleep. But not to worry, I'm sure we'll just buy him back off Lids when he gets too big for them....
evs_the_fox Posted 23 February 2011 Posted 23 February 2011 It pains me every time I see he's scored, and to let him go for £250k was a travesty. Grayson got a bargain.
StanSP Posted 23 February 2011 Posted 23 February 2011 I find it quite amusing how some people can just never move on. Ever.
Langston Posted 23 February 2011 Posted 23 February 2011 I find it quite amusing how some people can just never move on. Ever. Starter of the thread was a Leeds fan, and virtually all the comments have been 'shame he left, would've fitted in nicely' type posts. Hardly as if people are down the Walkers demanding the return of the guy holding placards aloft, is it?

Hardly as if people are down the Walkers demanding the return of the guy holding placards aloft, is it? I know he's a Leeds fan. Not on about him. But the following posts I see as somewhat wishing that Gradel was back here, especially the last one. It's a shame he was forced out here, just too early. They're barely the moaning, whining types you would expect already. And remember, they're new and don't know it's cool not to rue letting him go <_<
evs_the_fox Posted 23 February 2011 Posted 23 February 2011 New? I signed up on here 6 years ago Sonny Jim. I wouldn't say I wish he was back here or that I'm unable to let go but he can obviously cut it at this level and show's enough to make you think he'd do a job in the Prem too. Selling him isn't the main issue, it's how cheap we let him go. Anyway, I apologise for replying to a topic started by somebody else. Jeez, some people eh? They just can't move on...

But the following posts I see as somewhat wishing that Gradel was back here, especially the last one. All examples of how people said he'd fit in now, and it was a shame he left. Hardly not being able to let go, they're just expressing their opinions in a relevant thread.
sdb Posted 23 February 2011 Posted 23 February 2011 I think the responses in this thread have been very reasonable tbf. And let's face it, £250k was a joke and he would fit in amazingly well in Sven's system! Would like this to be the last Gradel thread though, ever...
Thracian Posted 23 February 2011 Posted 23 February 2011 I think it was a personal thing with Pearson, Pearson had never liked him and he supposedly had attitiude problems. It's Pearson who had attitude problems. He didn't like anyone who didn't see things his way. People like Gradel and DJ had their own views.

Haha, I was trying to stick up for you It's annoying when people hop on bandwagons like that and then call people on it even when they're not even making a fuss about it.
dannythefox Posted 23 February 2011 Posted 23 February 2011 He didnt fit in the way pearson wanted to play football i dont think there was anyone wondering if he could cut it at this level hes a good player.
ajthefox Posted 23 February 2011 Posted 23 February 2011 It's Pearson who had attitude problems. He didn't like anyone who didn't see things his way. People like Gradel and DJ had their own views. If I was ever asked to explain what personal bias was..... I don't know why I'm even bothering reply to this post but if you genuinely think Gradel is an exemplary pro who has a perfect record and was flogged solely because the devil man Pearson who never did anything good for us had a vendetta against him then I give up trying to represent a balanced view

I share a lot of the same footballing opinions as you, Thracian, but this is ridiculous. Pearson got an average squad who "saw it his way" to massively overachieve and reach the playoffs. I'd rather us, as a club, had a dressing-room full of people who "see it the manager's way" and go out to perform for him, thus getting results, than a couple of bad eggs ruining the team-spirit and attempting to undermine the boss. That's just how it works.

That's just how it works. The sale of Max Gradel was Pearson's biggest mistake without a doubt. If he had got a couple of million for him and reinvested it in the squad then I might of understood his thinking - but 250k <_< Gradel has gone on to prove he's too good for this league and is destined for the premie league, In today's market (where goal scorers are priceless) it's almost unforgivable. Milan also has to take some blame as he always stuck his nose in where it wasn't welcome, but he couldn't stop the sale of Max - I can tell you now, Max wouldn't have been sold if I was the owner..
Babylon Posted 24 February 2011 Posted 24 February 2011 Gradel has gone on to prove he's too good for this league Has he?
Collymore Posted 24 February 2011 Posted 24 February 2011 Has he? He's scored one league goal less than King so far and i'm guessing he's not had as much game time. If you speak to leeds fans, then you'll realise how much they rate his all round play, work rate etc.
