Collymore Posted 24 February 2011 Posted 24 February 2011 It's a strange one,we've hit the form that Man U would be proud of but lost to a Cardiff side who could be compared to Man City or Chelsea (if were playing in the premier league) My brain is saying "It's football", no team is bullet proof (see Barca v Aresnal) but I can't help feeling down. All logic says "it's inevetible to lose eventually" but something deep down is s nagging at me saying "something isn't quite right" maybe its the fact we have been lucky in the past (sheff utd, bristol to name two) and now my feelings are surfacing after a loss. I never wanted to be like the kids in the playground supporting Man u - they would be disappointed that had only won 2-0 not 4 but this is different... I think the whirlwind change that has happenend has totally messed my head up! I'm not sure what to expect from Leicester anymore. Are we over acheiving? are we under acheiving? At least when we had a midfield of Hughes, Williams and De Vries upfont we knew our limitations That's the thing, I don't know our benchmark, I don;t know what to think! too many things have happened to too quickly. Don't get me wrong, i'm loving it.....BUT... I'm getting people in the steet 200 miles away from Leicester that think they know more than me about my club. That has never happened before, even in the prem. :please:
MattyFromLE Posted 24 February 2011 Posted 24 February 2011 We certainly shouldn't be "expecting" anymore than a play-off place. We are good enough, I think football is as much a confidence game, and it is a skill based game. If we pick ourselves up and get on a streak again, we'll be unstoppable. From bottom, to 7th in 4 months or so is an achievement in itself. Up the Sven Revolution!
CKB Posted 24 February 2011 Posted 24 February 2011 You just enjoy it and enjoy the fact people are talking about us, that we have a strong holding in the monies department now and we have a top manager.. Because football has a nasty habit of changing just like that... Either way we are LCFC till we die...Thai rich Men, Sven, Yakubu's or not..we support our club through it all
Simmo86 Posted 24 February 2011 Posted 24 February 2011 This is the worst ive felt after a loss all season, I was on such a high before the game on Tuesday night (deep down I thought we'd do them) now I've just wanted to try and forget about football for a couple of days which is stupid really after the run we've been on. Starting to look forward to Cov now, and hopefully another run. The highs and lows involved is why Football is the best sport on earth
Guest parky0607 Posted 24 February 2011 Posted 24 February 2011 no need for the mid life crisis, we are still on a soaring run, and lost against a team who could possibly finish 2nd, okay we have ragged a few but theres also some that were taken away from us. Every game is like a cup game in the championship and we have plenty of time yet. I would rather be chasing the play offs at this point in the season than trying to hold on to the place.
Guest parky0607 Posted 24 February 2011 Posted 24 February 2011 Also, we are on the exact same number of points now as we were on 23 feb 2010, and on 4 points more than Blackpool were after 33 games last year. Forest also have to play 6 of the current top 7 so there's plenty of room for manouver yet
danny. Posted 24 February 2011 Posted 24 February 2011 I'm sure if you read the bible backwards, with some random chapters from the koran thrown in, that would make much more sense and give you the solace you are after.
Jon the Hat Posted 24 February 2011 Posted 24 February 2011 We LOST!!!... WTF?? Im going back to OZ You could be a the ME stadium watching a fat Robbie Fowler not score for the glory.
ozleicester Posted 24 February 2011 Posted 24 February 2011 You could be a the ME stadium watching a fat Robbie Fowler not score for the glory. Oh how you tease... what could be better?
Trav Le Bleu Posted 24 February 2011 Posted 24 February 2011 Matthew 6: 30-34... with amendments from the King James Version. 30 Wherefore, if Top so buys the players of the team, which to day is, and tomorrow go out on loan, [shall he] not much more support you, O ye of little faith? 31 Therefore take no thought, saying, who will we buy? or, do we need another goalkeeper? or, Wherewithal should Jeffrey Bruma be played? 32 (For after all these things do the FoxesTalkers seek:) for your Thai owner knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of the Premiership, and its righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day [is] the evil* thereof. I hope this lightens your day. *Notts Forest
Guest shearfox Posted 24 February 2011 Posted 24 February 2011 The team we have now is good enough for an automatic spot, the problem is we didn't have this side from the start of the season.
FuriousFox46 Posted 24 February 2011 Posted 24 February 2011 Look at it this way, we've done well to get in to this position and anything higher than where we are now is a bonus. The important thing to remember is even if we don't get promoted this season. I'm fully confident that next year we will have 23 bitches that will be dropping points to us faster than Sven's pants in a strip club.
shailen Posted 25 February 2011 Posted 25 February 2011 I think norwich or leeds will fall, but question is can we take advantage?
