Got to be keeping Naughton for sure. edit Oh sorry just noticed referring to loanees.. sorry It is no coincidence that we win when Gally starts, he is assured, does enormous work off the ball and build most of our play (BTW 3 assissts today) King.. maybe not.. but as with Mee, worth keeping a couple of young future players around (nearly typed I like a couple of youngsters... phew)

Trav Le Bleu Posted 12 March 2011 Posted 12 March 2011 What of the difficulty of keeping these players if we DON'T get promoted, as is likely? If we don't I hope that we can keep Naughton. He knows at least that here he is a star and he's not someone who's always played for a big club, like Bruma, Van Arnholt and Mee and might miss the glamour so much. He also seems to be enjoying himself here. Vitor? Would you leave the biggest club in your home country? Keeping any of them might be tricky.

Dom_Harborough Fox Posted 12 March 2011 Posted 12 March 2011 Think we've got a realistic chance of keeping Naughton. We might get Yak permanently if we go up but I doubt it. Don't know what Mee & Vitor's situations are at their respective clubs tbh but I'm pretty sure Chelsea have no intention of letting PVA or Bruma go permanently. Priority has to be signing Naughton up. I wouldn't say no to signing any of them permanently but priorities for me ideally world would be Naughton, Vitor & then Mee.

The Padster Posted 12 March 2011 Posted 12 March 2011 I'd concentrate my efforts onto Naughton then Mee then Vitor. I'd have to put Mee in front of Vitor due to the latters ability to be injured most of the time despite being class when he does play. On the subject of Cunningham I would like to see him back in a loan spell next season when he has recovered, he seemed to have the goods whilst playing and I would want to see a bit more of him before I decided to buy him permanently.

Gazza M Posted 12 March 2011 Posted 12 March 2011 I think this summer is going to be extremely interesting. We need to try and work towards continuity of some kind. I don't expect Sven to be loaning too many players next season or not as many anyway! Hopefully get some permenant players in or atleast season long loanees who are committed to the seasons cause. I would look to sign from existing loanees: Naughton and Mee as I think they both have potential to play at a higher level. Miguel Vitor (if he prooves he can stay fit in the next 9 games.) I would forget PVA, Bruma and the Yak. They aren't worth the money we would have to pay for their services. It is very important that we get Andy King signed up for the long Haul. Maybe some of the Yak's £50,000 per week could go towards his new wage packet!!! I think Ricardo would be worth another year and I think that we should persevere with him and let him continue to settle in to this country and this league. I would look to off load the dead wood in the squad and or those that don't want to be here: Nielson, Logan, N'Guessen, Lamy, Moreno. It's also time we waved goodbye to Oakley and Howard. Two excellent servants to the club, but age has caught up with them now. I would look to promote some of the young lads. Schlupp and Parkes for example. I also believe that Jack Hobbs will be off to Hull in the summer to link up with Pearson. I would probably let him go too. I fear this will be the end of Weale and I see him off to Hull aswell in the summer as they don't have a permenant goalkeeper at the moment. Again I don't believe it would be the end of the world if we lost him. I would look to bring in: A young goalkeeper to back up Ricardo. Greg Cunningham on a season long loan Ben Mee on a permenant deal. Maybe £1m would do the trick. Kyle Naughton (£1.5m) Miguel Vitor (£1m) Tunchev (1 year contract to see if he stays fit and use as back up.) Michael Johnson on a season long loan from Man City to replace Oakley. Two new centre forwards to replace the Yak and Howard.
