Are you still having problems with stewards?

Not really, they've let us stand without any issues since the first few games of the season now, besides a thing which happened a few games ago, they never get involved, try to figure out who's banging on the back when that used to happen but never got anywhere and that's about it.

Posted

Yeah, what weasel said.

They seem to have realised we aren't going to sit down and they also realise we aren't going to cause any problems by doing so. Bar some silly incidents like banging on seats and the perspex at the back of the stand which seems to annoy the stewards, as well as the genuinely ludicrous incident to which weasel has alluded and I'm not going to mention on here unless the person involved gives me the go-ahead, there seems to have been more a stand away approach. They aren't even checking tickets any more which is good, seeing as they know pretty well who we are by now.

You lot should look at the Foxfanzine from 04-05 when centre picture was L1 - my guess is most of them in that pic got banning orders and gave up (i know 3 for a fact). Been K then L from day one and people giving it 'danny dyer' massively less than 06/07 ish time when it was a constant stand up/sit down battle but people much younger now.

The clapping thing was a piss take out of some team last season who just clapped something pointless like their own chant or something and ppl took the piss. Dunno how it started this season again but turning it american is shit and the squeels do my head in

L1 went down hill when it became all ST, got a good reputation for singing (as oppose to ejection central from 03-08 season), the drum made people rely on it and the turning round starting at the bloke behinds bum after a goal is for 6yr old americans........which i guess that sarcastic cheering sounds like

Yuki.....He'll Eat Your ****ing Dog!!

Right, I've not posted for a while now... here goes my new years resolution. But this is something that has really pissed me off and I very nearly made a thread on something similar.

My point is:

L1 is completely going downhill, it is an absolute joke. We were fantastic last season and at the beginning of this season but slowly since, more and more new faces have been popping up and the atmosphere has been declining.

I'm a teenager, yes, a typical L1 chav as some will call

them but I am there because I want to sing all match, have a laugh and have some banter with the away fans. Unfortunately of late, more and more young lads, thinking they're from Green Street are determined on coming into L1 just to be in there for the status? What's the point? You contribute nothing to L1. A prime example was against Norwich. Jobber was doing the ring of fire when we were 2-1 down, there was only 5 (FIVE) of us singing. This is a

disgrace. Against Portsmouth the atmosphere was ****ing shit despite the magnitude and importance of the match. And that random applause thing - if that's the best people can come up with for an 'atmosphere' they need their heads checking.

Now please, if we go a goal down, don't stand there

moaning about Ricardo and then stop singing. SING ALL MATCH NO MATTER WHAT THE SCORE.

Now, can we please sort this out and sing all game next home match no matter what the score is like we have in previous years. Let's get our L1 back!!

Thank you.

YES JOV. Agreed, l1 doesn't sound the same as it used to, less chanting more moaning. Agreed with everything.

Three stewards outside before the turnstiles, 3 at the stairs and 2 at the top on Sat?

They know who we are, but still check?

I dont get the comments about the "increasing number of supporters", its season ticket only? Are they buying ST's just to chav it up?

I thought the random clapping was taking the piss out of the away fans? Anyway anything to take your attention away from the dross on the pitch, they play shit we dont sing? Catch 22???

It was funny looking at the bemused Pompey fans though!!! (not hard I know) but why call John Westwood a W**ker? That I dont understand?

Bilo was on about SK1 mate.

I was in L1 since 2005 until my last ST which I last had for the league 1 campaign. Last 2 seasons I've got tickets in SK1 where I can stand freely, but getting an ST again next term unsure where I'll get it yet as I still know a few in L aswell as SK1.

May well stay where i am lots of like minded folk in SK1, decent faces and decent enough atmosphere at times. Loved L1 when I was there but cannot be doing with 15-18 year old Henleys kids at all.

Im 18, dress a bit 'casually' some might see it as chavvy. I stand 3 rows back in SK2, Me & my 2 mates and 4 people around us often start songs but they rarely catch on. Im fed up with that to be honest, Gonna give N block a try next season. Don't really see how anyone can criticize the drum, without it the place would be dead.

To be honest, Im only getting a season ticket to remain Priority 2. Away days are a million times better than home games, especially when you go further afield, leaves all the ****** behind. Its also weird how our recent away following has improved yet our home support has dipped..

To sum it up, what I'm saying is wherever you are in the ground the atmosphere is poor. Its up to the decent people to recreate it. Got 4 lads behind us that are complete dicks. They look like the ****in 'Wanted or One Direction' and at half time when we sit down they whisper 'yeess'. Why the **** are you on the 2nd row at the back of SK2?!.

***** will always head for L1 as its the place where being 'hard' to the away fans can be expressed the most easily. That's why most of the young teenagers go there. I did a few times at 15 odd. If people relocated to SK1 or N or somewhere then they wouldn't follow. Therefore your rid of them and can get along with creating an atmosphere.

Yeah its driving me out, been there for fair few seasons but can't be doing with it no more. Fosse club seats and prawn sandwiches for me next season, at least i get a decent bar, a real glass and soccer saturday pre half time and post match !

£699 for next season. Includes a "free" program and "free" tea and coffee at half time. :scarf:

Why don't we just adopt this dress policy they had at a nightclub I went to recently:

We have a simple dress code; if you're wearing football tops, caps, Rockport, Burberry, or Hackett you probably won't get in!

Would deal with the chavs AND the yellow-shirt army everyone's always moaning about. Result!

Posted

Crap results lately, 2nd worst customer service in the football league, (or whatever it is) complaints over quiet atmosphere and now problems with chavs. What next to have a go at within the club? :frusty:lol

Guess its not too bad really, gets you out doing what you enjoy on a Saturday with added luxury.

Think i paid about £560 ish this season in K with the direct debit so not a great deal more, its nice being able to drink a decent pint rather than the shit they serve in the concourse. Will miss what little atmosphere there is in K but ill still have away games to do that.

Was due to have my ST in L1 this season before the group started up. Pretty glad I didn't if these reports are accurate.

Anyone of you disillusioned L1 heads should get over to where we stand in SK1. It's not difficult to move you ST for just one game - Burnley or Palace or whatever. Constant singing, good range of songs, right sorts of lads. What have you got to lose even if you decide it's not your thing?

Posted

Blimey, by the sound of people on here they are being forced to sit in L Block, if you don't like it then just move. If you want to stand and sing for 90 minutes not surrounded by 'Chavs', as you put it, then move to SK1 or somewhere...

Yeah! F*** off, all of you! Yo gotcha?!

L1 only for chavs!!! FACT!

SK1 and the Kop is the future by the sounds of it. Noisy fans who are undecided about where to sit really should get themselves in SK1 next season to help speed up the revolution.

It's the players on the pitch we should be trying to impress with our support first of all, not the away fans. If our home support is good then the away fans will leave impressed no matter if the noise came from next to them or at the other end of the pitch.

I like a bit of banter with away fans and that but I'd much rather stand somewhere where there is constant singing than just having a chance to point and do a few gay hand signs and shout "Ooooooh chase me" at some away fan nearby.

Problem is you cant stand during the game, dont you remember the debacle that was the Fosse Boys beginning?

If loads of people move and start standing, then our friendly club will be forced to get the fun police (stewards) to intervene!

The more the club suppresses and make it difficult for your average normal fan that wants to stand , sing and support the team the more it will allow extremist type fans who are happy to spend the whole game giving it the old big I am to the away fans and singing shit songs to appear.

My ST is in Block N. I SIT a couple of seats away from the away fan barriers. I wont be renewing my ST there at the end of the season mate. No chance of you really standing up in there. And if you smoke then forget about a halftime cigarette. We are getting over to SK1 next season i think. Like has been mentioned before though, only really renewing to get Priority on away games.
