somebum Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 I swear people just buy tickets there to look cool. Mate, if people seriously think they 'look cool' supporting Leicester, either they have some serious personal issues, or not all of their dogs are barking.
anotherharboroughfox Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 But surely the older generation in there (and there are plenty of them too) should be attempting to sing them a bit more often so the younger lot have a chance to learn them? yes they probably should, but in modern football everyone forgets about the club's history and heritage and is influenced by Sky and Soccer AM. I'm only 15 but I know a hell of a lot of the "classics", if you were to put it that way.
Teeno Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 But surely the older generation in there (and there are plenty of them too) should be attempting to sing them a bit more often so the younger lot have a chance to learn them? There's about 5/6 other lads that I go to the games with in L1, and we will regularly give some of the older chants an airing, however the thing is mate that just a it seems to get going Jobber starts drumming some crap and then we have another 5 minutes of some repetative clap along chant!
lcfcsnow Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 Has to be said, they're embarrassing. I did have a chuckle to myself when Gallagher hit that consolation goal in against Norwich. Everyone knew the ref was going to blow after kick off, yet Jobber started the painfully bad drumming (that one he does everytime we score a goal) so at full time all the idiots were doing their cheering as the ref blew the full time whistle.
SystonFox Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 This raises a whole new debate : drum ... Good or bad? Also I wish they wouldn't play goal music at all even worse when we grab a consolation goal
The Year Of The Fox Posted 20 March 2011 Author Posted 20 March 2011 Great post teeno. Davie g. Presume your on about my ricardo/kisnorbo chant thread? You dont know me so dont make out that I had put that thread up with my tongue in cheek. I didnt. As for the lad who said about ring of fire- its a wank song and does nothing to get behind the team. As for everything else you said I agree
lcfcadam Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 This raises a whole new debate : drum ... Good or bad? Ultimately I wish it was gone more often than I enjoy it being there...
lcfc"weasel" Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 Ring of Fire slow > no singing > Ring of Fire fast. There's alot of sense being thrown around in this thread(first time on here in a while) and I agree with the majority of it. Especially with L1 being full of lads, who are probably around my age give or take a couple of years, thinking they are cool and hard because they stand in L1 and are more than happy bragging about it when they get back to school in the week. This coupled with a drummer who is only capable of playing a couple of songs, Jobber does what he does well I just think if he got a smaller drum and learned some new tunes he could do alot more. A mate of mine who usually stand in SK1 went over to L1 yesterday and he said that when he tried to start "Bring on the Sunderland..." the majority of people turned around and stared at him. Bit of a joke in my opinion, have pride in the wide range of songs your club has rather than copying Soccer AM bullshit or anything else that has looked good on YouTube or SkySports recently.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 20 March 2011 Author Posted 20 March 2011 Syston fox- the drum is terrible, we get laughed at for using it. Thing is, if jobber decided not to bother most of the pathetic kids in l block wouldnt know what to do if we scored or whatever. Without the drum the atmosphere would be worse, at least for a while anyway, though the drum is still a bad idea.

Guest Bilo Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 I know of a few people, myself included, who have left L1 for reasons like this. There were moments last season where it was excellent, Forest and Peterborough were stand-outs, but far too many where crap Soccer AM chants pre-dominated and several where bugger all was sung. It seems as though from what people have said this season, the latter has been more dominant. The problem is that L1 has carried a good reputation for atmosphere and plenty have gone over there in search of it without thinking to contribute. There is also the problem of pubescent kids who couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag thinking they're Danny Dyer because they're shouting Who Are Ya behind the safety of a police line ruining the atmosphere for everyone. It's a real shame because last season at least when it was good it was really good, but it appears there are too many idiots these days. I've joined the Fosse Boys because I want more days like the Forest and Peterborough and less like what has been described this season. Reckon more people should join us if they want to sing but are disillusioned with L1, it isn't the only option if you want to stand and sing.
lestajigs Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 Bloody hell, most on here a obsessed with ranting about L block, give it a rest, it's getting boring now, yea it's full of teenagers mouthing off, but to be fair when I have sat near there, it's alot better atmosphere in there than anywhere else in the ground
The Year Of The Fox Posted 20 March 2011 Author Posted 20 March 2011 On some days- forest and derby at home this season were brilliant. Its when were playing badly we need to pull our fingers out and get behind them. To be fair yesterday the atmosphere matched the performance on the pitch. We need to push them on, not wait for the team to give us a kick up the arse. By getting behind them I dont mean by doing ring of fire. Also, having only poor mans tele and hating sky sports anyway, will anyone tell me what a soccer am chant is?
Kitchandro Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 SK1 just doesn't have enough people in there unfortunately. I just can't be bothered to perservere and wait for an atmosphere to be built over time. I'd rather be in a packed area. Plus, being near the away fans adds to the enjoyment. Sometimes the banter is hilarious. It makes it all the more satisfying when we score and we're going mental to see them all just standing in silence too. You can't have everything as they say so I think I'm just going to have to put up with the ******. I actually like the drum, though it is overused at times, ring of fire being a perfect example, he just keeps drumming for ages and then all you can hear is the drum, he does it with other things though. I think it's really good with the carnaval de Paris thing after the goal when we do the Poznan though. I don't think more people would sing if it wasn't for the drum so at least it makes a bit of noise.

It's inevitable that the atmosphere will be more subdued when we are seeing no passion on the pitch, because people can only be enthusiastic for so long before they get fed up, or bored, or nervous. It's booing the players that's the real problem for me.
Mee Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 I have respect for the Fosse Boys and the lot in SK1, but it sometimes makes me think whether you lads should be nearer L1. Maybe not in it, as i have read a fair few times on here, a fair few of you moved from L1 to go there, but maybe if you were closer it would get everyone going. When we are away from home, all it makes it one person to start a 'classic' song and everyone knows it. It just shows how many 'chavs' are just in L1 to shout 'F00k1n br1ng 1t' to the away support. Myself i stand in K, and it has been poor over the past two games, Norwich and Pompey, but before then it werent bad. I do think you SK1 lads should be more over towards the away following, not to give the stick, but to purely to get it going nearer them. I do stand by what i said when the Fosse Boys originally came about though, it will catch on. Be it in next season or even longer.
Simmo86 Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 Like lcfcstu says when there's no drum in L1 most of the little wankers are clueless on how to create any form of atmosphere! I too am considering moving to the South Stand (can't call it the Kop) each week I find myself getting more and more pissed off with the clueless little pubeless twats that stand behind me! Its a shame the people who have been in L1 since the start are getting pushed out by these only in there for rep at school cockheads, but what can you do theres just going to be more and more of the little ****ers! RANT OVER!!
Kitchandro Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 It's not even the chavs shouting 'bring it', it's when the away fan's start singing loudly and the one next to me puts his arms out in an aggressive pose or pretends to be a fvcking conductor Makes me cringe. As if anyone in the away end is taking any notice of him I agree, the Fosse Boys should go in J1 or something, it would create more of a domino effect. As it is they're just isolated.
scinnell Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 Yeah Lets get rid of the drum, make the atmosphere more bloody worse!
sbfox Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 Bloody hell, most on here a obsessed with ranting about L block, give it a rest, it's getting boring now, yea it's full of teenagers mouthing off, but to be fair when I have sat near there, it's alot better atmosphere in there than anywhere else in the ground That's the problem, its just full of kids mouthing off. Most of them don't seem to really care about what's happening on the pitch. Problem L1 have is that rightly or wrongly, the rest of the ground look to them to make some noise before they begin joining in. When L1 is silent, the whole ground is silent (see yesterday...). Its fvcking depressing when you see a whole gaggle of 14/15 years olds standind in L and K, hands in pockets, mouths firmly clamped shut and (often enough) on their bloody phones. If we're winning, they're perfectly happy to give it the big'un to the away fans, maybe 'do the Poznan' (how cringy is that?! Let's all 'do the Poznan... like a bloody after-school special) and ring of fire, before going back to giving it the Vs to the away lot again. Nice one lads. I don't have a problem with the age of most of the people there, you get enough older fans acting just the same way, its just the attitude. That American style cheering and clapping was absolutely, without question, the worst thing I've heard at a Leicester City match and we've heard some dross in our time. Is it meant to be funny? Ironic? I can't even begin to understand what its about. I even thought it was just aimed at two fairly attractive girls that walked out of the concourse just after half-time, but no, it carried on long after that. Essentially, sorry for the rant, but its been on my mind for most of the season. I know its not much of a loss, but I'm afraid I'll be moving out from K next year. Might head up towards SK3 (nothing against the Fosse Boys in SK1), just always looks a bit 'fuller' out that side!
phillthefox Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 personally i sit in the KOP or south stand as it is now, and and think we should make it like filbert street used to be, let all the nobs who think they are hard doo 1, and get a good atmosphere going like we do at away games sk2 the new L block
The Year Of The Fox Posted 20 March 2011 Author Posted 20 March 2011 Scinnell- itl be bad for a bit. It goes to show hot crap our home support is if we need a drum

Bugg Posted 20 March 2011 Posted 20 March 2011 Think I'll be moving to the kop next year cause bar a couple of rows at the back, people are more interested in their phone or giving it the big 'un.
