CosbehFox Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 Trust me when I say the problems with losing atmosphere, the average intelligence of the average fan and how away games are a lot more enjoyable than home game is the same at all lot of clubs across the Football League. There's plenty of clubs who've struggled with the whole move into all-seaters and how generic football culture is coming to a point. I've been numerous games as a neutral this season plus a good majority with City away this season and very rarely I have came away from a ground thinking that ground/atmosphere was unique. Even Millwall didn't do it for this time out, they've also become a parody of what you expect. It's a rather complex problem. It relates it to how Football has modernised in the past twenty years from a working class game to a middle class game, how terraces went, how the coppers nailed down on firms and crews, how there's now this air of expectation at every ground in the country regardless of side. It's all a bit routine. If you notice there was always a reasonable difference in atmosphere when the fans attitude changes from hoping to win this to we should win this. For example, I've been stood amongst Crewe fans this season where they consistently slag off Dario Gradi because he only likes the ball on the ground and is struggling to get them out of the fourth tier. Yeovil fans, disappointed that they are constantly near the relegation zone in League 1 after a playoff final in recent years. These were two sides at the time leading games but we're openly criticising, teams full of young players with tons of loanees. Is there any surprise, you look at the last three play-off finals, the underdog won because they had no pressure and their support fully behind them. A similar pattern in the League One and League Two play-offs too. That's just one sort of problem. There's tons of these little things which hold back atmosphere. The answer? Take a stand, organise, make some noise. Make it such a noise that the chav's aren't noticed, make it such a noise the flask army's etc. move into the posh seats, make it such an atmosphere you begin to get that link between player and fan.
Bugg Posted 24 March 2011 Posted 24 March 2011 I'd go as far as to say that THE MAJORITY of L1ers are retarded It best be the majoritt cause im not retarded an in in k1 k1 is full of dickheafmds who dont sing too sorry sbout my spelling, i've had a few tonight
Raj Posted 25 March 2011 Posted 25 March 2011 Didnt mean to get anyones goat up yday about my flippant remarks regarding L1. some will know that i too am a L1 knobend and have been for many years! There are a few(maybe more than few) knuckle draggers in our Block but there are alot of decent folk(Like the young lad who posted alot of sense yday) Spose kids will be kids(this from the mouth of a soon to be 40 year old!)and wanna act all hard and stuff. Then they grow up abit and realise its not worth it unless you REALLY are a hard cuunt! On a good day L1 is good but REALLY good luck to the lads in K1 (thats the Fosse Boys innit?) ANY group of supporters who try and create a better atmosphere is a credit. And all this nonsense about you cant hear us or them or the Kop doesnt really matter...as long as your OWN block can hear you!!! TOGETHER WE CAN!! (thats next years new slogan....you heard it here!) xx
Raj Posted 25 March 2011 Posted 25 March 2011 Raj. K1 is next to L1 Where ever they are then! SK1??? Fcuk it ,i dont know! x
ajthefox Posted 25 March 2011 Posted 25 March 2011 Where ever they are then! SK1??? Fcuk it ,i dont know! x you're right, it's SK1
Halfsy Posted 25 March 2011 Posted 25 March 2011 Top post Halfsy! I'm only 16 and I used to look over to L1 from the kop when I used to go with my dad and thought I'll be there one day. Couple years on, I went near L1 in K and was quite disappointed with it all.. a growing % of people going in L1 for the status. Now I'm in SK1 with the fosseboys and there's none of the green street influenced attitude, just a group of lads who don't stop for 90minutes! Chants wise, we sing the common songs such as ring of fire and oh when the blues, but were also bringing back the old ones like Molly Malone and Leicester score! Recently there seems to be a few disgruntled L1'ers who are fed up with the 'yoofs' and we want to bring back whatever we can from the old filbert street atmosphere and get the kop back. Come over to SK1 for a couple of games and come see if it suits you. I've seen a few fans commenting saying 'fosse boys look good, but we just can't hear them' Time for the numbers to grow and get the atmosphere back again! My season ticket is in already in SK1 with my Dad! X
anotherharboroughfox Posted 1 April 2011 Posted 1 April 2011 L1 is definately a status place now. My mates facebook update: officially an L1 member, K1 gone but never forgotten! ♥
Guest Mee-9 Posted 1 April 2011 Posted 1 April 2011 L1 is definately a status place now. My mates facebook update: He moved about 10 foot to the right, and he's now in the L1 Elite
The Year Of The Fox Posted 9 April 2011 Author Posted 9 April 2011 Have to say I think l block were pretty good today. Got behind the team from the off. You could also hear the kop quite a bit. However, there were about 10 lads who have never been in l block this season who were complete knobs. Pinching other fans' seats, not watching the game, giving it the brap brap to their fans, and snorting coke off their keys during the game. They definately had got coked up before the game, whilst watching green street. It was so embarassing. In fact had a fight broke out between them and burnley, id have helped the burnley lot. If theyre there next season im moving to the kop!
ajthefox Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 L1 is definately a status place now. My mates facebook update: Massive cringe at that, he makes it sound like it's a fecking cult or something.
Fosse Boy Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 Give L1 its dues, sounded decent today. Actually heard Bring on the Sunderland and Arsenal from over there which is more than most of the Kop can muster.

If theyre there next season im moving to the kop! Yeah they were getting coked up throughout the game too. Never seen the muppets before, didn't know any songs, and they couldn't even clap in tune. I'm sure they'll all be telling the rest of their rudeboy mates how sick they were today though.
lcfcsnow Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 Jobber needs to lay off the drum when we have a free kick, the clapping that follows makes me cringe.
Bugg Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 Glad to see that the hideous american clapping thing died straight after somebody tried it.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 9 April 2011 Author Posted 9 April 2011 I know I shouted at a few around me to pack that in. Im not used to people listening to me!
Guest Mee-9 Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 Best atmosphere all season in J3,K,L today. Fantastic.
Bert Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 I know I shouted at a few around me to pack that in. Im not used to people listening to me! Ha. I sit directly behind you.
ian_marshall Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 The Poznan looked superb today. Looked awful from SK3 as it does every game. It's very crineworthy in my opinion. Looked great when Man City did it and then everyone bought into it. Difference was that when Man City did it every single fan got involved where as when L block do it only a few hundred do it with it spread out across the stand. Really doesn't look very good at all. Saying that the atmosphere in the ground was pretty good today and the Kop seemed quite loud today. Good game all round!
Dan Posted 9 April 2011 Posted 9 April 2011 Jobber needs to lay off the drum when we have a free kick, the clapping that follows makes me cringe. This. Worst thing introduced. One thing about Jobber, think the tempo of a lot of our songs are too fast, I like this slower Ring of Fire that the FB are trying, sounds a LOT better than DA DA DA DA L C F C DA DA DA DA L C FC DA DA DA DA... Just think some songs sound a lot better when it's a slower tempo, Blackpool away last year, "Holloways Tangerine Army" sounded fvcking superb.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 9 April 2011 Author Posted 9 April 2011 Bert- were you the one who brought that bird with you today? I noticed she was clapping as I shouted at everyone to stop. She obligded, but I felt guilty as it seemed like I was aiming it at her
Maybes Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 Fvck me. 4-0 win when Im not there. Should stay away more often
thybluefox Posted 10 April 2011 Posted 10 April 2011 Shame to hear 'that' Yuki song coming from L1 though.
