Ambitious Posted 25 March 2011 Posted 25 March 2011 I've been looking at finishing tables in the Championship/Division One over the last ten years and have come to the conclusion that over our final 8 games we will need a minimum of 20 points to have any chance of getting in the Play Offs, this amounts to 6 wins and 2 draws. Do you think we can achieve this? I don't think so, what do the rest of you think?
ajthefox Posted 25 March 2011 Posted 25 March 2011 this is definitely about the 100th thread speculating how many points we'll need. talk about overkill...
AdamN Posted 25 March 2011 Posted 25 March 2011 this is definitely about the 100th thread speculating how many points we'll need. talk about overkill... I think we'll need 20 more threads like this to get into the playoffs.
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 26 March 2011 Posted 26 March 2011 8 games left... meaning we can get 24 points. IF what he said is true, we need to win every last game with the exception of ONE draw
purpleronnie Posted 26 March 2011 Posted 26 March 2011 Try and come to terms now that we won't be in the playoffs....it will soften the blow.
Fox92 Posted 26 March 2011 Posted 26 March 2011 I know against Norwich and Portsmouth near enough everybody was saying 'its over', well in my opinion if we don't beat Middlesbrough it is over...
LestaFox92 Posted 26 March 2011 Posted 26 March 2011 Anything can happen it's football simple as aint over till it's over.

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 26 March 2011 Posted 26 March 2011 We need to get 10 points minimum from Boro, Burnley, Palace and Reading. Then fail to lose at Forest and win at Donny, beat Watford and Ipswich. Wont happen.
Guest Col city fan Posted 26 March 2011 Posted 26 March 2011 this is definitely about the 100th thread speculating how many points we'll need. talk about overkill... I may be wrong but I reckon if we get 20 points it MAY mean that we are 20 points better off.... Just a hunch?
Wymsey Posted 26 March 2011 Posted 26 March 2011 At the high rate our strikers + midfielders have missed countless golden opportunities so far, i highly doubt we'll add another 20 points to our tally, but i don't rule anything out in football.
millzi Posted 26 March 2011 Posted 26 March 2011 I'd love to think we could get 20 points but I'm not holding out for anything, I am preparing for another year in this league and taking it by storm next season once Sven has been given a chance to work his magic over the summer break.

If he gets the chance, if Raksriaksorn has a similar pattern of thought to Mandaric and other cut throat, ruthless owners in football, then if we don't get promoted I think we'll be saying Farvä´l to Mr Eriksson.

Not a chance Sven will be getting the boot! I don't think Raksriaksorn is anyway near on Milan's wavelength, well at least I bloody hope he isn't! Sven needs a full season to be given a proper fighting chance.
m00nie Posted 26 March 2011 Posted 26 March 2011 taking it by storm next season once Sven has been given a chance to work his magic over the summer break. think some people need more of a reality check on this rather than any 20 points. if people keep thinking just because sven gets a summer we will automatically storm the league they in for a rude awakening imo..
Corky Posted 26 March 2011 Posted 26 March 2011 Try and come to terms now that we won't be in the playoffs....it will soften the blow. Yes, we've not been consistent enough throughout the season.

Well we will all be a little clearer in just over a years time. Nothing wrong with a bit of hope.

STEVIE B Posted 26 March 2011 Posted 26 March 2011 true.. i hope i win the lottery most weeks.. never seems to happen though Me too ! It's just much shorter odds on City gaining promotion next season,or this season if we're honest ,than scooping £10m every week !
m00nie Posted 26 March 2011 Posted 26 March 2011 Me too ! It's just much shorter odds on City gaining promotion next season,or this season if we're honest ,than scooping £10m every week ! doubt its going to be the odds on favourite people are talking about though.. are the 3 teams coming down going to be as weak as they were this season?? i doubt it after all the loanees go back from us who we going to be left with?/ not much.. is the league going to be as tight next season? i doubt it..
Dylan Posted 26 March 2011 Posted 26 March 2011 It is still possible; just seems unlikely cause we're playing so shit. Two week break could give them the break needed to rebuild? If we were in this position playing good, winning our last few matches instead, people would think it's still on. Lose against Boro, then it probably will be asking for a miracle. Win against Boro, we could be 7th, and 3 points off.

Wont happen. No it won´t! We are going to win all our last matches Or seven and draw one! I believe in this and if I believe every BLUE FANS MUST or?

You maybe right. We prob won't go up this year, and possibly won't next.I'm just saying you or I have much LESS chance of winning our fortune on the lottery ! I'd say we'd be something like 8-1 going up next season (if we don't this).Much better odds than winning £10m ! Just my opinion, but i know where my tenner's going !!
