davieG Posted 1 April 2011 Posted 1 April 2011 OS Sven-Goran Eriksson's Leicester City revolution has got the supporters' seal of approval, with season ticket sales reaching their highest levels at this stage for seven years. Ahead of Thursday's deadline for the best season ticket prices for 2011/12, the Foxes faithful came out in force to nail their colours to the mast, with 12,000 Early Birds signing up to see every home league game of the new campaign. The fantastic early turnout - 10% higher than last season - represents a massive gesture of support from the City's fantastic fans, who have responded incredibly to the ambition shown by the Club's owners, Vichai and Aiyawatt Raksriaksorn, in their quest to take the Foxes back to the Premier League. With huge savings still available for applications and renewals received before April 30, City look set to start the next campaign with their strongest stable of core support since the Premier League campaign of 2003/04. Vice-Chairman Aiyawatt Raksriaksorn said: "Having heard the news that we have exceeded last year's season-ticket sales at the same stage I am once again proud of the Leicester City supporters. "I feel sure that as a club we are on edge of something incredible. When I was interviewed recently I compared our supporters to the heart of a body and I know now, more than ever, that they are that and a whole lot more. "The message sent by the Leicester City supporters is that they believe in what we are trying to achieve. I will do everything possible to repay the faith they have shown and deliver success." Since taking over as City manager in October, Sven has been full of admiration for a Foxes faithful that has played a full part in the squad's promotion challenge this season. And the former England boss says the Blue Army still have a huge role to play in re-establishing City among the country's elite. Sven said: "I would like to offer my congratulations to the Leicester City supporters for this tremendous achievement. To commit to us for another year as a season-ticket holder shows true loyalty. "I have said it before, but the crowd really does make a difference to the players and staff and this positive news will show the team just how much they mean to so many people. "We want to make our home a fortress and the support of the Leicestershire public will help to move us one step closer to achieving our aim." 2011/12 season ticket renewals are now available from £349 for adults in the Just The Ticket Area (£369 for new applications) and remain the best-value passport to every single action-packed minute following the Foxes at home next term. With the exclusivity period for existing season ticket holders wishing to renew their current seat now having passed, there are also a limited number of previously-reserved seats now available on general sale. Supporters can also take advantage of our improved direct debit offer, allowing fans the chance to spread the cost over up to ten months in return for a £50 deposit and a one-off admin fee. Your season ticket also comes with a host of fantastic benefits including Seat Exchange if you miss a game, priority on away cup fixtures, discounts on Foxes Travel and our exclusive monthly newsletter Inside City. You'll also be able to get 10% off purchases in the City Megastore - a benefit you can access as soon as we receive your 2011/12 application!
Webbo Posted 1 April 2011 Posted 1 April 2011 Well I'm not renewing so they're 1 down from last year.
ajthefox Posted 1 April 2011 Posted 1 April 2011 Good to hear, shame that half of it is probably because chances are we'll be in this division again and many people thinkwe'll smash it so obviously that's brought out a few extra. Still, every little helps I suppose. There must be a good increase of students as well because it's dropped from being the same price as an under 22 to now being the same as an under 18, which for the early bird was from 240 to 140. It's the only reason I can afford one, and I'll bet there's a fair few other students who are the same cause that extra 100 is obviously quite a difference.

Just trying to process the amount of contradictions in this sentence.

"We've sold a lot of season tickets, great! Though I bet it's only because we haven't made the play-offs this season which should be a given considering the size of our megastore and amount of programme sellers! Grr! Though I bet loads of people will buy a season ticket for next season, just because they think we'll do really well!!! I bet they sing loads of songs as well! Grr! Every little helps I suppose...I'm not sure what that means. "
rico Posted 1 April 2011 Posted 1 April 2011 i've bought my first season ticket in nearly 16 years ,whichever division we are in,i'm sure its going to be an exciting one !
BrummieFOX Posted 1 April 2011 Posted 1 April 2011 i've bought my first season ticket in nearly 16 years ,whichever division we are in,i'm sure its going to be an exciting one ! Completely see why you may have, but a genuine question, why have you chosen to invest this season as apposed to any other of the last 16?
Les-TA-Jon Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 Yh im a student and moved back home to Loughborough recently - normally go to 6-8 home games a season. So at £140 it would have been mad to say no.
rico Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 Completely see why you may have, but a genuine question, why have you chosen to invest this season as apposed to any other of the last 16? just because i'm getting a season ticket doesn't mean i've not been to any games in the last 16 years i had 2 children in that 16 years that have restricted me to how many games i could go to,now that they are older and have got their own intrests,i thought next season i would invest as it happens i have only missed about 3 home games this season, not that its any business of yours !
ithuriel Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 I work evening shifts and this season there have been a number of games missed due to games being moved from saturdays or i have had to book holiday days to go and watch them. For me and the other City fans on my shift it is not worth getting season tickets while the club keeps moving games away from the weekend.
Haydos Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 just because i'm getting a season ticket doesn't mean i've not been to any games in the last 16 years i had 2 children in that 16 years that have restricted me to how many games i could go to,now that they are older and have got their own intrests,i thought next season i would invest as it happens i have only missed about 3 home games this season, not that its any business of yours ! I think he was just............asking.
