Edmund Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 Chelsea wouldn't have loaned us Bruma to sit on the bench. When Mee and Bamba were doing well, Bruma came in when there was really no need in changing things around. It's obvious he's got a gentleman's agreement to play Bruma. That's just another downside to loaning players.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 Its over, accept the fact the team is not good enough to get into the play off places this season. Its a shame we dont use these last few games to give the young players a go. Players like Schlupp, though he is oviously on loan at Brentford. As poeople have pointed out, Reading have a game in hand as well so in reality we cant make the Playoffs, so might as well use these last few games for something.
cc_star Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 No I'd say it's a real possibility. Why else would he have been picked? Sven's iinterview said a lot when he was questionned about it, he almost didn't know what to say sven prefers him to vitor. Nothing else to it... if money was an issue the thais wouldn't be backing him as they are or investing in the club as they are. Sven already turned a player down who tried to hold us to ransom with his wages so why would he stand for it from a club? There is no way any sane manager would have treated Vitor like he did should there not be some sort of agreement to play Bruma 100% of the time when he's available. No way in hell, not ever. The dropping of Vitor seemed to send shockwaves through the squad, and Sven't interview the week after was embarrassing

ozleicester Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 You miserable, negative cvnts 4 points from the playoffs... FOUR POINTS. Im guesssing all the people posting that its over are the same people who fook off in the 85th minute to avoid the traffic. Im not going to say we will definitly make it... but its only 4 points, we have some of the best players in the league, and imo the best manager in the league... and we have 7 games to get there. Cmon yoooooooooooo bloooooooooooooooooooooooossssssssss
m00nie Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 Your point being? Sven will play players he likes and thinks will do the job. Not because it means we can save a few quid..
Kitchandro Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 Sven will play players he likes and thinks will do the job. Not because it means we can save a few quid.. I don't think it's a financial agreement, I think it's you can have him on loan if you play him when he's fit.
Grayster84 Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 Yea and history is against us there as well as the fact their a good side, battling for the same place and have a very good manager in Eddie Howe, we haven't beaten Burnley at Home since 1995 in the League Cup, we haven't beaten them in the league at home since 1978! History Smistory. THIS IS NOW!!!
Ashley Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 It will be 7 points with readings game in hand, so being a realist I don't think we can make it I didn't realise they won it already?
m00nie Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 I don't think it's a financial agreement, I think it's you can have him on loan if you play him when he's fit. He has said in an interview that his price goes down the more he plays but said that isn't why he plays him..

Kitchandro Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 He has said in an interview that his price goes down the more he plays but said that isn't why he plays him.. Well considering he came in for Vitor after the lad was MOTM and scored 2 goals, I'd suggest he's not playing him because he's earnt it.
colbo68 Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 Sven needs to use common sense now and sort out the defence. Weale Naughton Bamba Mee Berner I agree and disagree... Havin been at the game today the problem was just as much with the midfield.. Oakley and Gallagher are not fookin strong enough and they looked like scoring with every attack... I still maintain this has been svens major failing.. We gotta get a midfield stopper... Absolutely crucial
smudger63 Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 Sven said at the Q and A a few weeks back, that the agreement with chelsea, was that each time we play PVA and Bruma, they give us some money back from the initial loan payment. The way he dropped Vitor after s****horpe was very poor, and Vitor must feel that however he plays from now until Bruma`s suspension is over, is going to make no difference, cos as soon as he`s available, Bruma will be back in.
Ambitious Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 Given time I do thin kwe would have eventually improved under Sousa, and we certainly wouldnt have gone down. I 100% agree, and if I'd have been Chairman or CEO, I'd have given him more time and more money to spend, he was unfortunate, he joined at a time, when the owner Milan Mandaric was being extremely tight with wages and transfer funds, I have heard from a source inside the Club that many of Sousa's attempts to bring in players he wanted such as Henry Lansbury failed because of Mandaric's rediculously tight budget and refusal to increase it, at the end of the day in Football nowadays, if you wanna get somewhere you HAVE to spend a lot money, this was a concept Mandaric failed to understand. Even so since he's left the team have done far better under Sven Goran Eriksson, so overall looking back it was the best decision to make for the Club, but at the time it did seem pretty harsh, whether he'd have turned it around with better financial backing and ownership under the Raksriaksorn's, unfortunately we'll never know, I believe he would have done, but who knows? I believe he will be back in the game eventually, most likely to a struggling team in his native Portugal.

He didn't need to spend money, he could have easily had us doing average with the players we already had, but he was terrible and it showed. But I agree I don't think we would have gone down.

The benefit of hindsight is a wondeful thing. If we had kept Sousa, I do think we would have improved eventually, or sacked him nearer Xmas then stayed up anyway. So really no worse than where we are now, no where, no chance of PO's. To make the PO's Sousa had to go, but thats hindsight, as we have no chance anyway now. Sousa changed things too quickly instead of bringing in his style of play slowly like Coyle at Bolton. Sven is victim of this lately, but in personnel rather than tactics, brining in his favourites and his players and alienating certain others.

Well considering Milan Mandaric was demanding Premiership football at the start of the following season, he had to spend, you'll never get there on the stupid budget that the Serbian was imposing, its virtually impossible now. Ten, twenty years ago it was more than doable to achieve something like that on a tight budget, but the games changed massively since then, this is what Mandaric failed to realise which is why he failed at our Club, simple reason being he wouldn't fork out.
Leicester Bean Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 I would say we could. But in all honesty I can't see the teams above us dropping many points from now until the end of the season..
Legend_in_blue Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 The league this season is truly woeful. Anybody making it out of this league this season will be back in a years time. It's a shame we couldn't have taken more advantage of it but since Norwich at home we've screwed it. Look forwards to next season because as I see it, with the money we have, anything short of 6th will be an absolute train wreck of a disaster.
